I was able to make a same day appointment while in the area and get my epidermal cyst on my head removed. It was a very simple procedure that Dr Carr took care of. I did not have to go to a neurologist where getting an appointment can take weeks or months. Taking an antibiotic for 10 days and will see how it goes in the upcoming week. I first went to Dr. Carr in 2013 on a recommendation for my adult acne. I never had an issue with acne until after I returned from studying abroad in China about 7 years ago. Since then, I get these random breakouts once a year or two and they're relentless when they come and they can get pretty bad. I don't like relying on medication since my acne is largely hormonal (so my diet and habits don't do much to them), but sometimes you just have to fight fire with fire - especially when I don't want permanent scarring the longer you try to wait it out. Plus, because I never had issues with acne before, I initially thought it was just a phase and when I realised it wasn't, I had no idea what to do. I won't speak much about my visits in 2013, but I can say that Dr. Carr was very professional and she took the time to talk to you during your visit. The receptionist was a little less friendly and more to-the-point. I went to her once a month for 3 to 4 months until my acne had largely disappeared and my visits included a chemical peel as well as acne extractions. On my last visit, the office was still as busy as ever. My appointment was at 10:30 AM and it seemed like they added more staff to the front desk, but I wasn't greeted and wasn't spoken to until much later. Because of the time between this visit and the last, I needed to fill out the forms again and I didn't get the forms until an hour later, roughly 15 minutes before I was let in. Yes, I waited for over an hour past my appointment until I got to see Dr. Carr. I make appointments for a reason. Needless to say, I made it to work a lot later than anticipated. That aside, once I was lead into a room, things went smoothly. I was asked some preliminary questions, given a wet wipe for my face (I had gone with no make up on but did put on sunblock), and then waited a few more minutes for the Doctor. When she came in, we talked about my condition and she asked her questions. What I like about Dr. Carr is that she doesn't make you feel rushed (probably the reason why the appointment times are all backed up) and she tries to get to know you. Plus, the treatments work so far, which is why I returned (it takes me around 30 minutes without traffic to get to her office from where I live). Having had moved since 2013, I went to another dermatologist closer to where I live now with my last breakout but had issues and the results weren't as fast. Plus, the visits with Dr. Carr come with a chemical peel. Do note that she isn't affiliated with any insurance and the cost increased by roughly $20 since my visits in 2013. Main Points: - Front desk service: could be better - Service inside: great, the doctor tries to get to know you and what you want treated, the doctor's experienced - Place/Location: situated on Highway 6 in Sugar Land (not quite a convenient location for me anymore, but it is on a major roadway) and easy to find. The office itself isn't the biggest (your typical doctor's office) but it's good and clean. - Cons: ridiculous wait time (appointment time is just a guideline; I can see a 15 minute wait past the appointed time, but over an hour??) My review is ultimately a 3.5, but I bumped it up to a 4 because of my experience with Dr. Carr and the results I saw based on my 2013 visits. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the visit for this round of acne will have equally fast results, but this time, she's changing my treatment at my request (I want to stay away from things that will affect my hormones), so we'll see how it works. read more

I have been going to Dr. Carr for over a year now and she is awesome! She is very straight to the point and her staff is wonderful! I love Debbie, Cassie and Erica! They are very friendly! The only reason why I am giving them a 4 star is because I had to wait for at least 20 mins in the waiting room a few times, then wait another 10 in the rooms. I use to see Dr. Carr for my skin complexion-- I had minor acne and very little acne scars. I've visited Dr. Carr at least about 6-8 times. Dr. Carr is very friendly and informative. At my previous visit with Dr. Carr, she had prescribed me an ointment for some Eczema that she was treating and she asked me to come back for a follow up appointment 4 weeks after so Dr. Carr could evaluate my skin and see how it was doing. Please keep in my mind that I'm a cash pay patient. I've never had an issue paying whatever the amount was at each visit to correct my skin condition. When I came back for my follow up appointment, Dr. Carr saw me for exactly 2 minutes. At the end of my visit, I was charged $120!! That is ridiculous considering that she dragged me back into the office JUST to tell me I was doing good and then charged me for an office visit. It doesn't take a genius to realize that my skin was improving. I CAN EVALUATE MY OWN SKIN, THANK YOU. At this point, I was very upset during the check out. I held my tongue, paid, left and most importantly NEVER RETURNED. In addition, the lady at the front desk (white lady with the spiky blonde hair) was VERY RUDE. As she tried to collect payment for my office visit, I handed her my debit card and she threw it back at me in such a disrespectful manner. She also threw the pen at me when it was time for me to sign my copy. How hard is it to hand the pen over? I work for a doctor's office in the area so I KNOW how to treat patients and I KNOW that even though you're busy and multi-tasking, there is no need to treat patients that rudely. My cousin recommended me to go here for my acne and keloids. I'm in my mid twenties and for the past year and a half I have been breaking out like I'm going through puberty! It has not been this bad since my sophomore year in college(late nights and ramen). My acne are usually quarter/dime sized that are very painful, sometimes little clusters across my face- I get them on my back and chest as well. I also have 3 keloids on my shoulders from acne scars, and white raised back acne scars! My skin is a mess, but I've been going to Dr.Carr for about 3 months and my skin has cleared up so much! I am so glad I go here, with the combination of the chemical peels, clindamycin pads, and tetronoin - my skin has really improved. I don't break out anymore, maybe I'll have one or two small pimples on my face, but it has seriously been a relief. The steriod shots are also working for the keloids, they're all pretty much flat. The keloids are still red and bruised, but Dr.Carr said with 6 - 8 more chemical peels they should be more of my skin tone. To sum it up, what I receive when I go to Dr.Carr is: -Chemical peel: Face, chest(sometimes), and back -Steroid shots: Directly administered to keloids on shoulders and back (shots slightly pinch) Dr.Carr - is pretty attentive, and will take the time to talk and listen to you. She spends time to take a look at your face, and makes sure that you are well taken care of. The staff is pretty nice as well, all relatively friendly and will answer any of your questions. One complaint is that it definitely is EXPENSIVE. Cost is about $240 - $170 depending on what they will do to you. Also they charge you a additional cost for being a first time patient, so I recall the cost being around $270 total. And you have to file a claim for insurance on your own side - which will take up to 30 days to process. I've filed claims for the past two months, and I've been rather lazy to follow up. I'd recommend you to follow up and be aggressive if you want your insurance to cover it up. All in all, I will continue to come here for my acne issues, I just wish it was a tad bit more cheap. --- As a follow up in July 7/2015. Dr.Carr mentioned that the keloids may pop back up. Some of them did and she would have to re-administer steroid shots. Overall they've pretty much flattened and are more tame in color. read more

Dr Carr's office is pleasant and friendly. Cassie is the facial enhancement tattoo artist. She is fantastic! I had my eyebrows corrected as a previous tattoo person did not do a good job. My eyebrows are now perfect thanks to Cassie. I already have an appointment to have my eyeliner tattooed by Cassie. I highly recommend Cassie for facial enhancement including tattooing.
