Buying a car here was fine- typical gross sales tactics, but that's to be expected. HOWEVER, my issue comes with this extended 3 year warranty we purchased. We were ASSURED by our sales man that we would get back "90%" of our money if we cancelled after a year and had low mileage. I called today, right under the 1 year mark, having put only 4k miles on the car, and was told that we would get 61% of our money back. 61% is a FAR cry from 90%. We bought a used 2022 Subaru Outback and had a pretty good experience. The huge negative for us was that we discovered too late, that is as we were driving home that the car had about an 1/8 th of a tank of gasoline and had to find a gas station real fast ! I would expect a full tank of fuel after spending $30,000 ! My suggestion to potential buyers is to check the fuel gauge before you make a deal and have them fill it as part of the deal. Wow - not sure how they got to a 3.5 star rating. Upfront everything was ok. Test drive went ok with the exception of very little fuel. Distance to empty read zero. They let me fully inspect the vehicle. Where it went bad was the deal itself. They were not willing to negotiate the price. When I agreed to the price they tried to pile all kinds of fees and taxes. To the point where even giving them 25% down, the financed amount was over the asking price. But I wasn't planning on financing, and I was upfront about that. The only issue was my funds will not be available for 9 days. I even offered to let them keep the vehicle until the funds were good. They seemed to lose all interest when I declined there. silly fees and taxes, that I don't owe because I am an Oregon resident. So a vehicle that has sat on there, lot for more than 2 months is still sitting there. A vehicle that the car fax shows only 2 oil changes in 78k miles. I guess I should have read the reviews, before I drove an hour to try to make a deal! read more

I wish I could give lower than 1 star for their service department. I don't know if their service department is incompetent or just flat out crooks. I paid $250 to diagnose a problem with my AC which they quoted me $1300. So I get the repair done then they call me to let me know they "fixed it" but then found another problem which will be an additional $1600. I basically paid them $250 to tell me the wrong thing needed to be fixed then paid another $1200 for them to say "oops it's actually this other thing that's wrong and that will be an additional $1600." So now I'm out $250 +$1200 + a still busted AC. I can't believe I paid this place to address a problem incorrectly and effectively fix nothing. Dick Hannah service department needs to do a better job at assessing issues and provide the customer more accurate information. Don't say this is the issue charge the customer for it then say oh actually it's this other issue and charge more money. read more

I went in for an oil change and was told I needed $9,098.64 in repairs. They said since my car was worth about $15,000, they would give my a couple of grand for my car. It's in great shape. These folks either are extremely ignorant and/or just straight up lie to your face. Ether way, not good. Avoid them at all costs. They treat women very disrespectfully! ( I was recommended by multiple people after the fact, that I should ALWAYS take a MAN with me, as they are notorious for disrespecting women...So Sad that I even have to be told that!). And I hate how they pawn you off onto each Sales person, as if that is going to increase confidence in their ignorance and lies! I had set up an appointment with Mike (El Krewi) to see a 23 crosstrek and had my car ready to trade in. When I arrived, he greeted me, then said he was unavailable as he had another appointment (why would they schedule me with him, if he was already busy?! Poor planning! Or an annoying sales game). I was then sent on a test drive with another sales person #2 (, who could not answer the most basic questions about the car (as he went into great detail about his family life and previous experience at the Honda dealership and gushed about how happy he was to work there at Subaru, as everyone is so friendly. Good job buddy for liking your job, but you can't do it very well!). Multiple times I had to interrupt him to refocus the conversation from his family, aging father in law, stories about his son and refocus onto the car. I am not sure if Sales person #2 focused the conversation on "family life", as I am female, trying to make "connection and the sale", but it really was annoying. As he kept telling me the trim model was a higher grade than it was ( he insisted it was a Limited vs a Premium - which is as confirmed by the Carfax report he printed for me....yet still insisted it was a Limited edition). I asked about the warranty, which he could not answer anything. So after the test drive he brought in Salesperson #3 (Tuan Bui), who insisted it was a Sport model. I insisted it was a Premium, as the website, advertisement, vehicle, printed car fax and all info stated that. Sales person #3 demanded it was not, that it was a Sport edition. #2 insisted it was a Limited. I pointed to the car, which was parked not far, and stated that he should go physically look at it. If it was a Sport, it would have various trim specs according to that model, which it did not. It also would state "Sport" on the exterior. Sales Person #3, which was supposed to be some "manager" and warranty expert of some sort, looked at the vehicle, went back to his computer, came back and insisted that the car was a Sport. I showed him the Carfax that #2 printed off, stating it was a Premium and he argued. At that point I was so annoyed, I got up and left. No one could answer basic questions about the car, and lied directly to my face about the model and basic features. At that point #2 chases after me, as I am nearing the door and states that he will "get Mike" to help me. Oh...and somehow Mike was now magically available and appeared out of now where to answer my questions! Seriously! What a GAME! So as I walk out, Mike tried to coerce me to go to the vehicle and asked why I'm leaving. I explain about his ignorant, lying coworkers, who couldn't answer a basic question about the car and that he just lost out on a sale. He states " Oh... you mean you were interested in this car!?!?!?". WTF! Why would I research it, set up an appointment, have my car ready for trade in...and not be interested in purchase! I had also asked about the warranty, which as it was still under the Manufactures Warranty as it was a 2023, he stated that I could not get an outside presale inspection. I had already called in advance and asked that, which they had stated over the phone that I could do. I had found a mechanic that works directly with them, who stated that Dick Hannah often drives the cars to him, he would inspect them for the buyer, then the buyer would get it. Mike stated this was all not an option. He stated it was against their policy to get a pre sale inspection. So so so tired of getting the run around! It makes me wonder that if I was a male or had a male with me, if I would have been treated differently! I left so disappointed and frustrated! No sale for them. read more

I would give Jack Wise and Zeek 5 stars if this review was about them. However, my first experience with Dick Hannah Subaru was extremely negative, and I feel a full review should include that experience, because I would have left a 0-star review if I could have. I shopped around for a few months waiting for the perfect car to hit the dealership, and when it showed up, I did all the paperwork online and scheduled an appointment for the next day to finalize everything. The next morning they sold it and didn't tell me, so I drove an hour out of my way and an hour back home for nothing. I was so pissed off. The shift manager also let me walk out the door without so much as an apology or anything to try to make anything right, so I was surprised that they later reached out to me to try to make amends. Maybe they knew I needed to cool down :) Zeek got in touch with me to ask what they could do to make it right, and I told them exactly what I wanted. He also explained that it was not an intentional issue, and explained how they were fixing it so that it wouldn't happen to anyone else. If they could get me a 2022 manual BRZ Limited with exactly the options I wanted with with zero markup, I'd consider buying from them. In a market where cars are overpriced by several thousand dollars, they were willing to make that deal, provided I could wait for the car to be produced. The timing worked out pretty well for me, so I agreed and put $500 down last December. They let me select all the options I wanted, and the car was promised by June and delivered in early May. Zeek was always exceptional with details and reached out occasionally to give me status updates, which I appreciated. When I came to pick up the car, I was greeted by my new point of contact, Jack. Jack was also an excellent person to work with, and I never felt pressured to do anything. When I took the car for a test drive, it was in perfect condition with 4 miles on the odometer. I never felt pressured to use their financing, although there are certain options that they do try to upsell. The dealership never tried to push those upsells after I declined some of them and accepted others. The entire paperwork process took less than 2 hours (honestly astonishingly quick), and I drove away happy with exactly the car I wanted. They did a really great job of changing my opinion from a negative experience to an exceptional one. So thank you Jack and Zeek for turning my really negative experience into an excellent final transaction. Again, I would give Jack and Zeek 5 stars if I could. They regained my trust and my business, and I wholeheartedly recommend either of them. read more

After waiting for five minutes for someone standing a a work station to acknowledge me, I got to pay an astronomical amount to have a sensor corrected- including $105 just to have the hood opened and $160 for a "diagnosis." Took off the cowling; which only took 5 minutes, and found that the fluid lines were good and it was just a 15 cent fitting that was bad. I love Dick Hannah Subaru. I bought from them a little over 2 years ago and got myself a used Crosstrek, my buying process then was seamless and amazing as well. I racked up a lot of miles in the last couple years and decided it was time to buy again, but this time I wanted to go new. I learned when I got there that my sales rep from the past, Taylor, had actually been promoted to the finance department, and so they paired me with Jack. Jack was AMAZING! Nothing but professionalism, no high pressure sales, never pushy, but always ready with every answer to all my questions. He was willing to negotiate with me and get the car to the payment I liked. Now, sadly they didn't have my car on the lot in the color I wanted (but, can't blame Subaru, covid has caused delays everywhere!), BUT Jack was quick to find out one was being shipped there promptly and got the green light from his manager to go ahead and finance that one for me! I walked through the paper signing, and got the chance to work both with Taylor and Jack, and let me tell you, working with the two of them is the best dynamic duo ever. They had a vehicle listed on their website at a very low price. Due to COVID, I wanted to do as much as possible from home before I went in. I asked to be pre-approved for the loan prior to test driving the vehicle. I first contacted them around noon. The woman I spoke to at the Vancouver Subaru location told me the vehicle was at their location and we made an appointment for me to test drive it that afternoon. I asked that they check for the availability of financing first. They proceeded to contact NUMEROUS lenders all at once, rather than one at a time. All of which hit my credit score, dropping it by more than 50 points!! In the end, they didn't even have the car I was looking at, they later claimed it had sold that morning. IN WILSONVILLE. (I'd been told the vehicle was in Vancouver when I called.) So the vehicle was never available for me to purchase in the first place. Then they gave me some lame excuse about the sale not having been updated in their system. One would think that the bare minimum of customer service would be to make sure the vehicle was actually still available prior to running a dozen credit checks. I am not sure now that that car was ever available. When I called them out on this, the person I spoke to in financing just insinuated that the salesperson I'd spoken to had LIED to me about the vehicle's availability. He appeared to have no problem with the idea that his coworkers use unscrupulous means to make sales or with passing the buck when he was the one involved in this credit debacle. If you decide to do business with this company, you might want to make absolutely sure you are getting accurate information, and also consider tracking down your own financing. I will never even consider buying from them again. read more

Got a flat tire a few days after getting the vehicle and Jack talked to the team and got us in same day with Andrew in the tire service area was great at finding a new tire for the vehicle and getting the new one ordered. Purchased our Outback from this location a couple years ago, and later on decided we wanted to have a tow hitch installed. The part itself was cheap and we were going to do it ourselves. They told us it has to be professionally installed because the bumper has to be cut a certain way. So parts + labor is almost $1500. Took it in, they put it on, and sent us on our way. We trusted it was fine. Months later, while getting fuel,  we can see the fascia cover coming off, because it was glued on there. Took it in 06/22/2024 and the guy on the service floor literally told us that it's not designed to fit properly. Excuse me, what?, I paid over $1000 to have it installed properly and you're saying it's not designed to? So are you saying all these outback that have the hitch and fascia panel are just not secure? He did not want to help us with a solution so we talked to an Assistant Manager who took our information but never called. Called again on 06/28/2024 and the guy said it's not their issue and we need to reach out to whoever installed it. But never offered to look up who installed it. Then he said contact Tom Gilstrap, but we can't get in contact with Tom Gilstrap. Basically - The Service and Parts Department do not treat people like humans, they won't help you at all with a problem they caused. - The Assistant Manager wanted to look like a hero at the time but didn't want to help either. - Parts should not be purchased or installed here if they have no sense of integrity. read more

They were able to accommodate me doing all of the initial paperwork outdoors and spent the morning bonding with my new car while things were moving through their system. Come final paperwork it was just about 15 minutes indoors with finance and all was quick and easy. Rod is friendly, helpful and very informed. I couldn't have been matched with anyone better for my purchase experience. And while we're in a time where car values are quite inflated because of demand they are the one Subaru dealer in the area that offered a slightly discounted quote right don't he website. Do the online quote and follow up expecting no surprises at the dealership. I do wish them and other dealers would catch up with the digital world and allow you to purchase entirely online plus over the phone. We're in a time and place now where you can order a car online and have it on your doorstep in a day or few and wrap up all paperwork on the iPad in 20 minutes. This needs to be the model local car dealerships embrace moving forward. This may be my last in person purchase like this and I'm not alone. read more

And they were the only ones to go above and beyond to find the car I wanted. Fast forward 12 years. I have worn this car out. Gone through hell and back with finances and am finally on the up. Working as a hospice nurse in the Portland metro. I need a new car. I wanted a Crosstrek in hyper blue. They had the best price. I set up an appointment and arrived to my gorgeous new car. The salesman, Ather, was amazing. Again I was just out of paying a bankruptcy and was very nervous. Everyone at the dealership was amazing. So welcoming. After purchasing the car I continued to drive from Tigard to Vancouver for service. Because it was so amazing. With the last few years being so I crazy, I started to go to another dealership close by. It was mediocre to say the least. My car started to have some cost to it. It's had some issues that are not normal for a Subaru. Luckily all covered by warranty. But I felt like I wanted more bells and whistles. I was again looking for a specific color. The interaction with the dealership started off wonderfully with Sales representative Violet Kirkland helping my wife and I out with vehicle choices. When it came time to sit and discuss details of the purchase- this is when things turned horribly wrong. For context Violet is newer to this dealership but has years of experience working at a Portland Subaru location. As Violet was gathering my wife's and my desired make, model, and options- one of her male colleagues was sent to take over the conversation by (Kenny) the sales manager. I informed the male colleague that Violet was doing a more than capable job and that we didn't need a second sales person. Kenny the sales manager took offense to this request and proceeded to ignore Violet from proceeding any further with paperwork. When I went to confront Kenny a very unprofessional exchange took place- ending with me stating that his behavior towards female employees was unprofessional and demeaning. He informed me that they have "thousands of customers" and they don't need my business. So sad that someone with 20 years of experience doesn't have an idea of good customer service. Ultimately Violet is the loser in this outcome as I refuse to do business with such a backwards thinking management team. read more

The guy who was helping us was super nice and helpful. The cost was a bit high but we were able to find a coupon on their website which took $10 off. Complete scam. First off, sales guy didn't know anything about the Subaru's and couldn't follow a conversation and asked the same thing over and over. Didn't listen to what I was saying and what we wanted. Went to talk numbers on the car and they came back at triple what i said.
