I spoke with Brandon and it was very easy to schedule an appointment and also drop off the vehicle for a general inspection.

Service completed, drove the car home with strong smell of gas permeating the car. Upon arriving home, gasoline and oil pouring out of the engine. Called the shop, they authorized a tow back for repairs. Discovered they had cracked the fuel line during gasket replacement and parts had to be ordered for warranty work. Work completed four days later and brought home. Drove the car for a week with the strong smell of gasoline and burning smell still apparent. While thirty miles from home, the engine began smoking and for safety concerns, found a auto shop as soon as possible who kindly took me in as an emergency case due to possibility of engine fire. Inspection revealed that the installation of the gaskets were improperly installed, resulting in oil being leaked/sprayed all throughout the engine the week it was being driven. Over two quarts of oil had been discharged. The shop performed emergency repairs, and thoroughly steam cleaned the engine to remove all the residual oil resulting in another repair bill. They were awesome and pretty much saved the car from bursting into flames. Returned back to ask for a refund of the original bill as it was faulty workmanship and had to be redone for safety reasons. Jayden (manager) said the warranty had been voided and no refund would be issued. He referred me to call corporate Meineke, who took the complaint and said that the shop itself dictated refund policies, not headquarters. They apologized for my terrible experience, but it was up to the original shop. Basically, Jayden sent me on a wild goose chase. Evidently the policy is more important than personal safety. Long story short, original work cost $475.00 for shoddy installation that created a severe safety issue. Rework and clean up cost $ 510.00 for excellent customer service under emergency situations. You do the math and decide for yourself. I'm returning to the shop who went above and beyond in rescuing me, and my vehicle from bursting into flames. Pretty sure this review will be deleted. It's pretty bad press.

I didn't have any service performed here -- just had my time wasted. And frankly, that deserves a…read morereview. Here's the situation: My Mini Cooper's brake light came on, so I took it to two different auto shops for assessments. Both techs gave consistent feedback -- front pads needed replacing, rear pads had some life left, and the rotors could be resurfaced. One shop quoted $700 (with brake flush), the other $850 (flush included). I was just looking for one more quote before making a decision. I called Meineke on Monday, June 9, and spoke with Rodney. I explained I needed a quote for front and rear brake pads and rotor resurfacing. He insisted I bring the car in before giving an estimate -- fair enough. I told him two other shops had already looked at it, but agreed to bring it by. When I showed up the next day, two guys were standing around in the garage chatting. No one acknowledged me until one finally walked over -- reeking of cigarette smoke so intensely it was genuinely off-putting. I explained I wanted someone to take a look at my brakes. He asked if I had an appointment. I didn't. He told me they'd need to put the car up, takes about 30 minutes, so I'd need to make an appointment first. Fine. The other two shops didn't require this, but okay. Not to mention no one else was there. I made an appointment and came back the next day. Same cigarette-smelling guy sees me, then immediately calls someone else over without saying much. Strange. A second man comes over and asks if I'm the Mini Cooper. I confirm. He starts in with: "Well, hard to say what this'll cost -- it's a European car, you know, blah blah blah..." Then he says, "We'll take a look and probably get the work done today." I clarified -- again -- that I was only there for a quote. Then he drops this gem: "Oh, we don't resurface rotors -- we only replace them." Really wish Rodney had mentioned that when I called in the first place. That was the whole point of coming in -- to compare quotes apples to apples. Instead, I got vague answers, unnecessary appointments, condescending tone, and no usable information. Meineke, if you want people's business, try listening more and talking less. And maybe lose the mansplaining while you're at it. Thanks for wasting my time.

They proceeded to tell him he needed front and rear differential work. He agreed because it had been a while since he had done maintenance. This time is an actual list of what was suggested and performed: Front brake service; removed and replaced front pads and rotors, removed and replaced front disc brake calipers, Brake fluid flush Differential fluid service front; removed and replaced front differential pinion seal and front axle gear ring, replaced differential cover and gasket, PVP differential fluid, SKF differential pinion seal(front and teal axle), Fel-pro axel housing cover gasket Remove and replaced front disc suspension shock and strut both sides Remove and replace transfer case output shaft oil seal; removed and replaced front disc fluid front transfer case output shaft oil seal, transfer case fluid seal. This cost $4000 We drove the truck less than 20 miles and the front wheels totally ceased. It took 4 different tow trucks to get it on a flat bed w/o dragging the tires and causing more damage. It was pretty clear to everyone trying to help it was a problem with the front differential. To our horror the shop took ZERO responsibility. Saying it having no fluid in the differential was caused by a clog that they didn't know about. Mind you, they removed the fluid, replaced the fluid and put new seals on. We were told there were pictures to prove it. We've asked several times for the pictures but have yet to see this so called evidence. My husband Fernando has tried to call the corporate office several times. Constantly being told he would get a call back in 48/hr. Still no call even from corporate. We ended up paying an additional $2000 to get the damage fixed and the truck usable. I have never been so disgusted with a shop but more so the corporation that treats hard working customers like pieces of crap. Not even worthy of a single call. If I could give this experience minus stars I would. It would be nice to hear from corporate since we have been dealing with this since 7/31/2025. Doing business like this is shameful

I selected alpine body shop because of the excellent reviews on yelp and carwise. They're the best…read morereviewed body shop in my area of Vancouver, Washington. Everyone at the body shop has been friendly, communicative, and professional. The people who work there seem terrific and I don't have anything negative to say about the actual interactions I've had with the shop. The damage happened over the December holidays, so I didn't expect them to be completed particularly fast, as delivery of parts over the holidays is expected to be spotty. However, the estimated date of completion has been pushed back for the third time, and is approaching 5 full weeks now - it is nearly the end of January. The first estimated completion date they gave me was two weeks ago. It's now been pushed back over 2 weeks because their parts deliveries for my Prius have been incorrect or missing important pieces. I can't blame the shop, but their parts vendors are clearly not dependable and I feel that by the time a shop gives you a third estimated date of completion, it should be correct. While I'm not unhappy with the actual service they have been providing, this experience overall has been miserable due to delays. I have had to continually renew my rental car to accommodate this extra time. In short, alpine has a great, accommodating staff at their body shop. Unfortunately, they apparently have incompetent vendors for their parts that have soured the entire experience. That said, the work they did was perfect once it was all in place, and everyone there is so friendly and honest, so I can't give it less than 3 stars. I will gladly give them another chance when I can plan for not having my car, as opposed to right after an accident.
