We had gone here today for a late lunch and Carrabba's is ok for generic Italian food and if you aren't looking for anything to really impress your palate. Ocala's Carrabba's is generally clean and the food is usually fresh so you can get a decent meal at a great price! The service is always decent and the server's fairly attentive. I've never had a stand out experience it just has been a basic chain food restaurant that the food is basic and it's usually pretty good. I had the Lasagne and I enjoyed it. We had shared the calamari for an appetizer and it was pretty good. My friend had ordered the chicken Parmesan and was not impressed. To me I feel that Carrabba's is suitable for a nice meal to sit down and relax enjoy some nice conversation, it isn't noisy and it's inexpensive. You can walk in and it's never really crowded but if you are looking for Authentic Italian this isn't it. We called ahead for a large group, it was BUSY on a Saturday night! We waited about 20 minutes to be seated. The waitress was kind and as attentive as she could be. We were there over two hours waiting for food, drinks ect... it wasn't a bad experience but it was definitely long!!!! We had to ask for a lot of things that typically come out without asking. Our waiter absolutely made our visit great here. I don't usually go to chain restaurants but we were visiting family in Florida and we wanted a place everyone could have something (I have some allergies and also my mom is vegan) -- we had two older family members with us, both with walkers. The restaurant was so lovely making sure we got a large round table (there were 6 of us) and being so patient with us. We did also have a reservation. They were so kind with all the questions our group had. And when a side came out wrong and we didn't even realize it, our waiter did and took it back to get us the right one. Started out well. Admittedly, had dine in rewards about to expire which is what brought me here. I had been in the area for an appointment and it made sense to stop for lunch. Since I was there last, they have slightly changed the lunch menu, mainly increasing prices but still good values. Intention was soup and salad but for an additional $2 I could do the small plate lunch. Since unlimited is wasted on me , and knew, takin the small dish home would give me another meal, I chose the sausage, lentil soup, Italian salad and the meatballs and ricotta small plate and asked for that to go. Soup was delicious, my mistake not to ask for the salad dressing on the side, but drenched with it and too much parmigiana for me (never thought I'd say that)! Bread was hot and I got butter rather than the bread dipping oil. Service for the most part, until it wasn't! She disappeared! After more than 20 years we decided to go back and refresh our memory of dining at Carrabba's Italian Grill restaurants. Ambience was the same, classic, better to say classy. Didn't like a bit of early pressure with the waiter approached us with offerings "wine of the month" promotion. Service was a good, except missing a side dish what can happen to the anyone. Disappointed with my 80.00 take out dinner tonight. Fontina n mushroom Risotto was a solid clump of nothing in the container and overly salty, calamari was very salty as well as was the 4 Tiny stuffed mushrooms in the huge container they served it in. Portions they give are way over priced, n maybe they should choose smaller container to send takeout in, so small amounts of food thry give is not sloshing around In the huge containers. Brusetta consisted of a piece of bread with ricotta on it and 4 halved tomatoes. Brusetta is supposed to be small diced tomatoes n onion in an oil n vinegar mix spread over a piece of Italian bread. Not sure why ricotta was on there. The fettuccini Carrabba was fine. Maybe add a little more sauce especially if it's going takeout. Overall very dissatisfied. Visited Carrabba's last night, and unfortunately, my son's chicken parmesan was a disappointment. It was a little overcooked & peppery. Even the chicken soup he had was peppery as well, not good. The worst he's had, according to him . The dish looked unappetizing, and the taste was off. Maybe a tweak in cooking techniques or ingredient quality could elevate this dish. Overall, our orders were very disappointing, the taste of food & service was really slow, considering there was only a few tables being served & it was Sat night. My family goes out to dinner every weekend, trying out different restaurants around Ocala, but honestly, we were disappointed last night, sorry. We had not been there in awhile, so we decided to stop in. My wife ordered a salmon dish of some kind. I ordered the chicken picata. It was very good and sliced thin like it should be. I had the black berry sangria, which was also good. I ordered the Caesar salad and she ordered the house. We ended up swapping because of fishy flavor in the dressing. First 10-15 minutes was not a good first impression upon our initial visit at this location. Since moving to the area, this would be our regular Carrabbas to visit. As usual, we sat at the bar. I do not recall who that bartender was but she was more interested in continuing conversation with patrons about FL as opposed to greeting us. She had an attitude the whole time, like we were bothering her. Plus, my entree came out incorrectly. Luckily there was a manager around and he was super nice. Our second visit was much more enjoyable thanks to Maria. We decided to visit the 2nd time for hub's birthday and Maria served him a sogno with a candle. I loved that! Maria sold us on attending the wine dinner, which I signed up for. That event had a $10 any meal to go and I unfortunately thought that was at every wine dinner event. We attended several of the wine dinners and only the first one was messy. Our server was not on point and there were several of us that were not served wine pairings for a couple of courses. But every wine dinner we attended, Maria greeted us and engaged in conversation. We also dined here on Christmas Eve. There was no room at the bar so we sat at a table. Our server was really personable and nice. I want to say there were some hiccups and at times it did seem like our server became bipolar. Whatever, I will continue dining at Carrabbas because it would take something really massive to turn me off. I used to work at a Carrabbas and everything is made fresh, either that same day or from the previous day. And it's date night in Ocala! We decided to return to our favorite date night eatery, Carrabba's on 200. As it always seems to be, the place was hopping and we were 1-2 parties behind when we checked in. We were told 15-20 minutes for a table (it was barely 10) so we opted to wait at the bar, where Sarah and Princess took awesome care of us, delivering my Stella quickly and making a great pomegranate martini for my lovely bride. Hostess Stephanie took us around to our table and actually asked us to wait while she wiped it down again because it did not meet her cleanliness standards (we could even see what was wrong with the table). We were just finished scooting into the seats when Ashley, our server, arrived and took our appetizer order. She was truly a delight to have as a server. The calamari was - as always - perfect (sorry, no picture) and our Caesar salads were brought nearly as fast as the bread. The Pollo Rosa Maria was delicious! The roasted asparagus was so well cooked - not too much, not too little. The salmon was tasty and the Parmesan truffle fries were a nice upgrade on basic French fries. For dessert (and I had to share!) we had the strawberry cheesecake. Divine! Sorry, I remembered the photo a few bites in. As always, Carrabba's remains our date night location of choice. We were there for 2 birthday celebrations. We were asked what dessert we would like and since we couldn't decide, we were brought two choices. We are coming back for more canolli cake, it was incredible! They sang happy birthday in Italian and just made us feel so special. Ordered 2 chicken parm sandwiches with house salad. Have eaten in at carrabas many times, always great food, good service, first time for carry out. It was so disappointing. The chicken tasted old and was cold. No sauce on the sandwich. The bread was fresh and tasty and the salad was great. Would not trust them with carry out again. Need someone responsible to check the orders before they go out. Less than I minute after posting review, got their standard response. Probably will not go back again now. read more

Had a nice dinner with the family on a Saturday afternoon. We got there right around 430p, and we were the 3rd table sat. Terrific service from Tia. She was attentive and very nice. She gave us time for the kids to decide. Never felt rushed. Thank you Tia. Food was good. We got some basics but it was all hot and good. No complaints at all. Kids had mac-n-cheese and buttered noodles. Both of their favorites. Spouse had the pasta dish, I do not recall the name, but she enjoyed it. I had a simple Ceasar Salad. The service here is absolutely horrible. Our waiter was extremely rude and passive-aggressive. He even said, "the faster you leave, the faster I get paid, so I want you out of here." Which was completely unprofessional. We came as a group, and a table that arrived 45 minutes after us got their food first. We waited over two hours for our meals, and it wasn't even that busy. When the food finally came out, half of it was cold, and our waiter avoided our table the entire time. We barely got water refills, and nobody ever came by to check on us or apologize for the long wait. When we eventually did get our waters he said that it was too much walking around and we could fill it up ourselves and just left the water pitcher. The food was not worth it, and several people in our group couldn't even finish their meals. Id honestly go somewhere else. Worst lasagna I have ever had. I always get lasagna at Carrabbas. On 9/24 I ordered some and it had no meat, no substance and not much cheese. At first I sent it back because it was COLD, it came back cold again, I sent it back again, Then it came back looking like was slapped in the microwave. someone else ordered linguine and the shrimp were good but the noodles were sticky. The last few times, getting curbside to go has been very hit or miss. I was looking forward to a nice meal after a long day . I could not believe my eyes upon opening the box. The fish was burnt to a crisp! II would expect this from somewhere, low end, not Carrabba's! The thing is, this isn't the first time it's happened, And it's getting old! Something needs to be done. The last few times they have either forgotten the sauce or bread or both too. This is completely unacceptable. HOW could this be overlooked. The lids are clear! I came here around 6:30 on a Friday night expecting there to be a wait, but there was not. That was excellent. The staff was friendly walking in. They seemed to have plenty of employees unlike many other places in town. I always order my go to fried zucchini, which is maybe 12 or $13 now. It's about half the size it used to be. It's still really good though even though the price is obnoxious I get it every time because I love them they just make them right somehow here . All the food that we ordered was for the most part adequately prepared. I ordered the shrimp Caesar however, and it was just simply disappointing. I don't know how they could charge $20 for five tiny shrimp. It was probably 4 ounces maybe a little less of shrimp and a handful of lettuce. If that was my dinner, which it was supposed to be, I would've left as hungry as I was when I walked in. Fortunately, I consumed an entire plate of zucchini, so that became my dinner, and the salad was just sort of an extra thing. The service was good, the food came out in a timely fashion, everything service wise was great, which is why I'm giving them three stars. There's simply no excuse for sending out food that is incredibly overpriced and just ridiculously tiny portions. I mean if I was going to Emeril's, I would expect to get Tiny portions for a high price, but this is Carrabba's. The food cost on that shrimp salad, let's give them the benefit of the doubt that it was 4 ounces so that is going to be $1.50 and then maybe $.25 worth of lettuce and $.25 worth of dressing I know everybody needs to make money, but seriously my mom ordered the chicken Brian, those used to be at 1 point, 8 oz of chicken. Then they brought it down to 6 ounce and now I think it might be 4 ounce. The flavor on everything was pretty good, but for a party of four we spent about $160 not including the tip, and no one even had a drink, just two soft drinks, and two waters, and four dinners and two plates of zucchini. I'm not a fan of semi-fast food Italian for the most part but my mom likes the gluten-free menu. They have so we may be back because she likes it but I would not come here on my own. I never got past the hostess at the front. She swore under her breath before we got to her. My 80 year old Dad and I both have canes. She said there would be a 10-15 minute wait. There was a bench seat that was occupied. I asked if there's any place else to sit and wait. She offered the tall bar chairs. I told her that wouldn't work. I asked if we could wait at the table we would be sitting at. She said 'no.' I asked to speak to the manager. She looked at the people sitting on the bench and told them they would need to get up, so we could sit....instead of calling the manager. Inappropriate! She didn't take our name. We sat. Surprisingly disappointing. I'm a frequent visitor (once every 1-2 mos) and I must say this is the most disappointed I've been. I placed my order online because the folks are visiting and my father is public averse. The order was accepted at 5:52PM and stated it would be ready between 6:15 & 6:20PM. Well I had an errand to run so I think I arrived at 6:20. The gentleman greeted me, I added a tea to the order and an extra loaf of bread. He said he would get me the tea directly. 6:30, came and went 6:40, came and went 6:45, came and I told my mother I was going in to pay as I had a gift card and the bonus card. I waited inside and once the gentleman arrived I told him we ordered at 5:52, and soon it will be an hour. He responded, "it's a busy kitchen". I told him I wanted to pay since I had gift cards. He cleared The 1st but couldn't get the bonus one to work. I asked that he call someone. Manager person came over and asked he was entering the g.c. He looked to the gentleman and maybe me and stated these can't be used until January. Ohhhh ok I said. As he was walking away I went to engage him about my food delay which had arrived by this point. He completely ignored me and walked away. I looked at gentleman and said,"I guess he doesn't want to hear about how long I've been waiting. Again, gentleman said, " he's got a really busy kitchen." I looked at gentleman and said, "I DONT GIVE A SHIT. I AM YOUR CUSTOMER AND THAT IS ALL THAT SHOULD MATTER. Carrabbas fix your system. Give me an honest time, acknowledge or meet the special requests, or stop taking to go orders and offering accommodations. None of our special requests were acknowledged or executed. I want to update my review and thank the manager, Allison, for reaching out to me regarding my review.
