No issues here. Been with Carroll for years. Just moved and had good customer service and assistance when I had to make a change.

After reading together, yelp reviews on Carol electric I understand why they barely above one star! If you have a choice, do not pick Carol electric co-op! They're expensive. They're slow on repairing outages and their communication is weak at best. But considering I'm in Northwest Arkansas I guess that's the best you can expect. read more

My issue with Carrol electric has always been their customer communication and service. They ask if they can come by and move something then show up weeks later out of the blue without warning. Workers are always curt and the phone service line is worse. CECC is clearly ran by the absolute worst scum of the earth! They absolutely will NOT listen to anything told to them! My neighbor is a mentally disabled alcoholic that lives on Social Security and they are trying to .take him pay a $1,300 outstanding electric bill in a FORMER tenants name! I KNOW for a fact that his bill is paid in full, actually paid in advance as of this moment! They absolutely argued that he owes the bill when the bill is in a FORMER TENANTS name! So a complaint has been made on the is matter with the Arkansas Utility Commission and there will be complaints made to the Arkansas Attorney Generals Office, the Arkansas Governor's Office, BBB and any other place for everyone to publicly see just exactly how they treat customer's! This is absolutely NOT acceptable!!! I feel they need some hefty fines / penalties slapped on them!!! read more

How do I select negative 5 stars? I have set up edraft multiple times to automatically pay my bills each month. Regardless of how many times I do this, 1 week after my bill is due I get a letter in the mail with a $40 late charge since I "didn't pay on time" This is absolutely unacceptable and completely infuriating. Then, since I was "late" multiple months, now I have to pay an additional $50/month as a deposit since I am a "high risk" customer. Electric bill is already high, now I'm paying roughly $90/month extra because this company can't figure out their own auto draft system. read more

Poor service. Lazy maintenance. All around bad customer service but we have no choice. I called and had them come out to take care of a branch hanging just above the wire. It took 3 men an hour to decide they wouldn't do anything. I told them that branch would fall and knock my power out and bend my mast. only way I could get to it would be to put my ladder on the wires. Of course they could care less. Here it is six months later. That branch fell and did exactly what I said. I will now be without power for a long time due to preventable damage. THANKS SO MUCH CARROLL ELECTRIC!! Absolutely the worst power company that I have ever dealt with they want your social security and copy of a driver license, and they have no secure site and no encription, their customer service people work off site from their homes and other locations a total recipe for identity theft. Unfortunately this is what happens when there is no competition. I have filed s formal Federal Trade Commision. Would give negative stars if able to. I've paid my bill on time every month for the past two years. I happened to overlook last month's bill and WITHOUT ANY notice, they turned off my power. This customer friendly company conveniently closes at 4:30 and their "24-hour hotline" happens to be the same line as their customer service which does not work past 4:30. Needless to say I had no power for the next night and the best part was not only was I dealt a late fee that was double my monthly bill, they charged an additional "re-set" fee in order to get my power turned back on. Horribly unreliable. This company is a scam and a monopoly on CENTERTON. Their low star reviews are the majority and the other reviews are Rogers residents. Why pay the same, if not more, if you don't have service at random parts of your day and the other person does? My appliances are shut off aggressively every single time and all the work I have put on my PC is wiped randomly unless I spend hundreds of backup generators (which I have spent $600 on batteries just to use this company). Even spending all this to use their service... The power outage will still take my internet away which is literally my source of income. You never see it coming but you always know it's coming. It's actually corrupt. Who do I need to speak to in order to get this through their heads that this is unjust? $600+ on backup power supplies $200+ just to sign up to their service $200+ per month to use their service In a nice neighborhood surrounded by homes (not anywhere near the "country") ^^This is what it looks like to be a user to a bad company.... The amount of "1 stars" make it look like this company is rated an overall of "1.7 stars" but all of us "1 star users" would give them "0 stars" if possible. If Google removed the fake 5 star reviews and give us a "0 star" rating, then that would equate to a much lower score. Less than a 1 star rating for sure. We moved from Bentonville to Bella Vista I had high bills in Bentonville like 4 to 500 every month. We bought a smaller place in Bella Vista I thought our bills would go down, but they haven't. My last bill had 11 different charges on it. Makes me sick to pay so much for electric. I'll probably buy some solar panels and put them on my roof myself. Carroll Electric does not have adequate policies and procedures put into place. I've lived in multiple states, and never been required to pay such a large deposit to receive services. in addition, once your full deposit is paid, and no late payments are received within a year, you simply receive a credit on your bill, not an actual refund. Ive paid over $500. Its a shame that there isn't another service provider to choose from. read more

I don't have an alternative to Carroll Electric. I didn't request any services last week, but I randomly started having energy and other service providers show up to mark off equipment boundaries in my yard for an excavator to dig up around my street light transformer without any communication. I spent hours on phone with city hall and other numerous service providers to understand what was going on. I even had someone jump my locked gate to gain entry into my backyard to mark off boundaries for equipment. I had to cancel my lawn services until I could figure things out. I met and spoke to the excavator and it turned out that either Carroll Electric had systematic issues or someone mistakenly put in a work order to repair my street light that wasn't broken. A couple days later the site manager called me, but was clueless so I told him that I saved them labor and money by doing their job and the light was working fine. He acted like it wasn't a big deal and would close the work order ticket, but didn't bother to apologize for the inconvenience. It was so distracting that I wasn't able to get any work done for a couple of days due to their issues causing such an inconvenience. read more

I'm not writing about toilets, I am writing to hopefully, let people know what a sorry carroll electric is, when my dad was alive I remember him saying he would not buy any place that was serviced by carroll electric, the fact is I remember him turning down a house buy that he really liked when he found out it was serviced by carroll electric, but I'm stuck with them I think that the qualification for their employees is they must be a high school drop-out or they will not be hired, they came out and said they had to cut down the only shade tree i had because they had to trim it more than every 5 yrs, whuch was not true, they brian said he would give me 2 trees at least 15' hi they waited til late in the fall and brought out 2 trees the dogwood looked like it was already mostly dead it was about 5' hi the outher was a red bud about 6' hi i told him the dogwood that looked liked it was mostly dead, this spring it for sure is the red bud looks alive but sickley, he said that it was so late in the season so they dident have much to choose from. It's funny they cut the tree down in June or July last year that gave them about 2 months to bring them out and then only after several phone calls from me to remind them they also left large logs from a tree they cut and again I had to call to remind them that they needed to be hauled off, they finally came out and got the logs after they had killed the grass under them about Sept or Oct after several calls. read more

The only thing I hate more than paying bills is horrible customer service, Carroll Electric is BOTH! When they were called to set up my new service the rep said it would be done within the next three days...three days passed with no work done. I called to speak with the lady over new service (new builds) about their timeline, I was told the "rep" misspoke and that it would be 10-14 days before they would consider doing the job. I called her back with another question leaving multiple messages with no response. After 24 hours of no response I called to speak with her supervisor, when he finally returned my call several hours later he advised that because it was the end of day (Friday) he would contact the installer Monday morning to find out where I am on the list but I never got a call back on Monday. I called and left a message for a call back Tuesday at approximately 8:15 am but never got a call back until Wednesday around 1:00 pm he said he would call me back in a few minutes after he was able to look into the matter as though he had no recollection of our conversation from Friday, it is now one hour past their close of business. I think it's sad that we have no choice/option in electric company's in our area so we will have to "deal" with their blatant disrespect, horrible customer service and deplorable phone/communication skills. read more

Horrendous customer service and awful service, in general. It is not uncommon for my electric to go out several times a year. I've just gotten used to the fact it will go out. In addition, this is one of the worst utilities I have ever worked with when it comes to rewards for energy efficient applianaces or incentives for renewable energy. They have the market cornered and they know it. We have no options to use anther company, so there is no reason for Carroll Electric to care about anything. It's terrible. read more

I find it funny to write a review for a utility company as a 4 star - Yay! I'm a fan haha because who is really a fan of paying their bills? Haha. However, I am thankful for this company to providing us with electricity. Overall, since using them (starting in July) my experience has been good. Good, reliable service. I've gone into the office a few times and the customer service has always been great. You can pay online, through the mail and at their office. They offer a convenient option to do a automatic checking withdrawal. You have to fill out a document and give them a void check to set it up - worth it, so you don't have to worry about paying every month. read more

Carroll provides a great reminder of why state protected monopolies cannot be trusted. During a test of a solar system, it fed power to Carroll's grid. Carroll knew of the install but still charged a $160 tampering fee for the test. When Carroll was reminded that tampering fees only apply to stealing electricity (consuming more than their meter records), Carroll refused to remove the fee and threatened to cut service. More than a few employees also seem to not be able to perform their job as problem solvers but are bound to "policy and procedure." read more

Worst company ever. They have no records of me calling them to disconnect service and they didn't. I moved to another state so I had no prove that they did disconnect it. I move back to Arkansas I try to start up services and they hit me with a $542 bill. I tried to disputed it but Lisa/manager must be stuck on repeat mode because she will not send me her policies and will not help me dispute this with her company. read more

I last year had a bill that was over 500.00 dollars, when i called in and spoke about this i was talking to a lady that would not identify herself but had a tennessee accent and was rated in the top ten of rude peolpe i've meet in my life. Her first point was that i had not called when my bills has been lower then normal so why call when it's high. Her second point was it was not much higher then last year in febuary (yet it was still over 150.00 more and that was the year we had 20 inches of snow on the ground). Her third point was I could finb electric elsewhere if i did not like the sevices rendered. i was not helped nor even considered as a human being as i thought back over the event, i waited several months and one day was able to catch the meter reader who informed me that the company was have automated reading errors and they where an outside contract labor hired to double check the computer readings due to high volume of complaints and error readings with high bills. i paid the bill and since then my bill is back to normal but i am still out the money. read more

Carroll Electric shouldn't have "cooperative" after their name. I purchased a new home in Bentonville that is currently under construction, but cannot be completed because Carroll Electric sent their crews to Houston to work there because they are getting exorbitant rates for supplying emergency repairs. In the meantime the construction locally is being delay for months on multiple new homes and I am sure service calls are delayed as well and there is nothing that anyone can do about it. read more

I have never lived in a place where my power has went out 6 times in one month!! In spring!! The last two times have been for extended periods in high heat weather between 80 and 90 degrees and we are suffocating in our house last time was less than a week ago on Saturday and this is Friday! Supposedly this time it's a tree fallen on a line and last time who knows they were closed 90 degrees outside and power was off for hours! They think highly of themselves on deposits and membership fees service should be much better than this! I expect more! People should have options in choosing utility companies I swear it's still a monopoly and it's bogus! Not to mention VERY hard on my computers to be shut down this way so many times not even in incliment weather! If it was expected or possible I would have them turned off but 6 times all different days in one month time with no forewarning at all?? I'm guessing they aren't liable for anything if one of my drives suffers errors from this! I am actually considering a backup power generator just in case because surge protectors can only do so much not to mention resetting clocks and radio stations on a dozen items! Argh! I just moved to this area. This company has ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE customer service representatives AND speaking their Supervisor Nancy was worse than the representatives. She was condescending and constantly interupted me while I was asking questions. It has taken me over a week to change service over to my name despite having all the documentation they stated on their website I would need including a letter of good credit. read more

I just got off the phone with a lady named April at the Berryville, AR office. When my bill arrived I had some questions because I was a new customer and didn't understand all the charges. The phone call started with an unprofessional and uncaring representative. In fact she was the rudest customer service representative that I have ever spoken too. It was impossible to ask a question because she kept repeating the same thing in a blunt repeated manner. The only way I could get a word in was to interrupt her, but she didn't catch on that I needed further explanation. I told her how rude she was and how her tone in her voice was unprofessional and to let me talk to a different representative. She put me on hold and during the time I was able to understand what my charges meant on my bill. The call ended with her still being rude even though I had said I would be reporting the call. I am only writing this in case there have been over complaints regarding this same issue. It is stressful enough getting a high electric bill, so you would think this could have been handled differently. read more

Here's some advice for Carroll Electric; "It's okay to say 'YES' to your customers!" You don't always have to say "NO", or that's not possible, or that won't work - everything is on our terms! This company is on a POWER trip, if you will (please excuse the pun). I have several accounts with them and they always offer horrid customer service... Recently, I called for new service at another one of my properties. I was told that service would be on in 24 hours. It's a vacant property, so I went to check on service 72 hours AFTER they told me service would be connected, and guess what, no service... I had to wait an additional 2 days (stalling my construction efforts) because they DO NOT have any weekend or after hour support. WHAT ELECTRIC COMPANY, IN THE YEAR 2016, DOES NOT HAVE AFTER HOUR SUPPORT!?!?! So the next Monday, I called, and I was told that they in-fact had been to the property, but they were unable to connect service due to the fact that someone had tampered with the electric meter... They were very nasty on the phone, told me that they had called the police and taken pictures. The lady was so rude, that I asked to be transferred to a supervisor. He was no better... He was extremely accusatory in his dialog, as well. I explained to him that we have numerous accounts with them, and a simple phone call over the last 6 days would have been nice. He was unapologetic! In fact, he was down-right rude! He told me that I would have to come in and pay nearly $200 in tampering fees, and wait the normal time for new connections. So I clarified with him; after I agreed to come pay for someone else's thieving (making my total deposits nearly $450 on one of my many properties) I would then have to wait for them to wake up from their naps and coffee breaks for new service! All the while, my construction crew sits waiting to work on a house that repairs should have started nearly a week earlier. If only we could pick our utility providers..... CARROLL ELECTRIC would NEVER by my choice!!! Teach your employees how to treat people nicely Carroll Elec - it goes a long way! Not to mention the many other annoying things that this company does; no credit cards in the drive-thru's, charge extra fees for debit cards, lengthy paperwork for EVERY single new property you add, etc. etc. This company has a lot of room for improvement! read more

carroll electric is awful, they came out to "trim" our trees, they cut them back so bad 2 died, plus destroyed our landscaping, gardens it was a mess our yard has been recuperating over the last 2 years and here they are again coming out to cut them back again and they are not even near the wires..Im since of them tearing up our yard and no one seems to care that this and financial burden is awful to repair their damage..sick of them wish I could afford to move , I plan to get an attorney if they touch my trees again read more
