Yesterday we met up with a couple of friends for lunch here at the downtown Miami location. It was convenient for us all. It has indoor and outdoor seating and is casual. They are known for their fresh, health-conscious food, vegetarian selections and a kids menu. This was perfect for the type of diets we were all on (keto, Mediterranean and low carb). You order at the counter, pick a table, and the server brings you your order. Service was good and timely. I ordered the Avocado Tuna Melt, which was smashed avocado, tomato, tuna salad and multi grain sour bread. It was delicious! I would order that again. I had Yuca chips with it and they were also good. The pistachio croissant was just ok. It was dry and the pistachio filling didn't taste as good as I thought it would. My friends had a Liv Wrap and a Power Bowl. They liked their choices also. We all drank water with our meals. We had a nice get together and will be back in the near future. read more

I spent my Sunday in downtown and decided to stop by Carrot Express since I was just a few blocks away. I've been to their other locations in Midtown and North Beach, but first time visiting this one. I've always thought that the prices are on the higher end for the portion sizes but all worth it for better ingredients. This time I actually felt the amount of food was pretty decent. First time I tried their loaded sweet potato- added chicken and cheese and it was way more than enough! We also had the salmon burger which came with a side salad. The toasted multigrain bread was great. The place was almost empty so we got our food pretty fast and the staff was welcoming and patient while we decided what to get. This location is bigger than the ones I've been to, many tables including high bar tables with rattan high chairs. There was a homeless guy who was came in while we were eating and the staff asked him to leave since he was making some of the clients uncomfortable. Overall a good experience. read more

A group of us came for lunch for a coworker's birthday. Since we had never been here we expected staff to be more helpful but he was not. Two of us ordered bottle water because when asked if they had regular water, they were directed to the bottled water instead of the water dispenser with cups inside the restaurant. We ordered delivery from this location and unfortunately, my husband's niece Salmon was not great. I have paid for in order an extra side of dressing to go on it, but did not receive it. After living in Miami for almost 3 years and with so many options to dine at, I finally made it to Carrot Express. I sampled their breakfast bowl, açaí bowl and a cafe latte. Starting with the coffee, the milk was barely steamed and as a result the coffee was just warm. A latte without a hot steamed milk, it's not a good latte. There was no decoration at all, with such a beautiful coffee mugs they have, how they are not taking advantage of that and put some effort on adding a leaf design for instance? That's so easy to do. The coffee quality was average. I would give the coffee a 2 stars. The breakfast bowl was like a Chinese fried rice but with quinoa, kale and ham. And the reason I say that is because the only flavor that came through was a subtle soy sauce. It was a pretty bland dish. Lastly, the açaí bowl, it was the best out of the 3 things I had, but wouldn't come back for it. There are better options in town for Açaí itself. With this said, I would like to come back and try their croissants which looked good on the display as well as the avocado toast which the guest best to me was having and it look good. read more

Surprisingly I enjoyed my meal here very much. I ordered a salad with sliced chicken with an iced coffee and it was perfect (except for the price -almost $30). The salad was very large which was good and they brought it to the table. All the ingredients in the salad were delicious - avocado, romaine, tomatoes, carrots and more. They did forget to bring me my iced coffee (almond milk) so I needed to go up to the coffee bar to remind them. It is located in downtown Miami so it gets a big work crowd. One negative is that you must go into the hallway of the Dupont building to use the bathroom and get the security guard to buzz you in. That's very odd to me. Recently, Carrot Express came up when I looked up "healthy eats," I had tried their Midtown location a while back, but this is the one that shows up for delivery. They have a pretty good selection, whether the classic chicken breast and brown rice, to quinoa and now even the vegetarian burgers as well as smoothies. I usually go for their chicken breast and quinoa with a ginger shot. The chicken breast is nice and plump, though I have to add some flavor with their ginger & honey immunity shot. The quinoa is typically a generous helping , and the raisins it comes with give it a nice touch of flavor. The order comes with pico de Gallo and avocado, and I wish there was the option to opt out of the green stuff. Today, I was slightly later and to my surprise it went through on a different take out app but the outcome was a very melted açaí bowl which was on the... saltier side?
