Super cute indoor outdoor spot. The menu is always changing so be prepared for refreshing surprises. They do a great deal for a monthly membership that allows for a free glass a week and free bottle a month. A unique experience in the Point Loma area, located in Liberty Station is this winery where you can enjoy flights or just a glass and they have a cheese shop for something to nibble on. They have outside seating if you don't want to be at the bar and either a 21 and up area or a large patio area for the whole family. Very dog friendly and decently priced. read more

I have been going to this location for months. I already knew I wanted my nonprofit to host a networking event at this site because of the wonderful selection of wines and friendly staff. From initial contact with their headquarters to the point of contact at their Liberty Station, it has been prompt and smooth. Jen has been helpful with the wine selection by understanding my audience and recommending wines that would be a wonderful experience. The patio set-up was terrific, with ample tables and chairs with space for guests to stand and talk around the venue. Also, access was no barrier because there was plenty of parking. Jen provided wonderful service to our guests and answered questions about the wine selections. I recommend any organization to host an event at their location and take advantage of the beautiful San Diego weather. read more

This is my favorite place to hang out and drink amazing wine!! They purchase the grapes in Northern Cal and bring them down to Southern Cal to make the wines. Every single wine here is amazing! Fausto was really helpful with explaining the clubs, which I am now gleefully a member. Mati was so helpful with telling me about different wines I have yet to try. I found a new favorite. Carruth Cellars at Liberty Station is a lovely place to enjoy a glass of wine and relax. The service is outstanding. The staff takes great pride in providing good descriptions of their wines, cheeses, and food, and they are great at learning your name and making you feel welcome. One of the many pluses is that it is easy to find parking. The indoor space is cute and decorated with art by local artists. We enjoy being club members and look forward to visiting other locations. What a great wine and cheese tasting! We thoroughly enjoyed it due to the quality of the food, wine, service, and the atmosphere. This was an excellent date night, and we went home with three bottles--the Tattoo (loved this and wish I had gotten two bottles), the Unicorn (excellent), and the dessert port (very good dessert wine, as we don't buy those often). The staff are simply amazing - Always recognize us by name and take the time to catch up with us. There is indoor and outdoor seating and it's dog-friendly. Wine = Good! Bathroom = Gross! I was there about a month ago for the first time and was directed to the upstairs toilet. I walked into the larger handicap stall and the toilet seat was up as if it had just been cleaned but as I put it down I saw a big smear of blood! Then I notice a blotch of blood on the metal paper holder and then a big fresh drop on the floor in front of the toilet.Obviously, I decided to use a different stall after taking a couple pics to warn my friends not to use it. I was there yesterday (over a month later) and asked for the code and went into the large stall and was so surprised that the blood on the floor and the toilet paper cover was STILL THERE! The bathrooms are pretty gross to begin with because they're original military with stall walls added but they should at least be clean. This is over a month later and the the blood on the floor looks to be sort of part of the floor now but the toilet paper casing.... It really hasn't been cleaned in over a month? I don't think I will be able to eat the food here again. Anyway, we went inside to pay because our server was pretty busy and we wanted to leave. As we walked out the side door - there's another girl's toilet room! Right there outside the bar on the ground floor! I tried the code and it worked and the bathroom seemed unused and so much cleaner! The seats were up as if it was just cleaned, no hair in the sinks, full paper rolls, no blood. So, big fat FYI in case you'd like the peace of mind of using a clean(er) toilet. read more

Came in at opening and sat at the bar. It was (understandbly) a few minutes before being greeted, at which point I ordered a "bartender choice flight", thinking that would be the most flexible option for the bartender while also allowing me explore the varietals Carruth offers. BIG MISTAKE. My drink selection was immediately met with an obvious drop in the shoulders in disappointment, then with an audible, "to anyone who is in the line and is waiting , she's the reason for the wait!" That hasn't quite sat right since, and although the visit slightly improved and some of the wines offered are indeed enjoyable, that first impression will be the reason I am likely to not return. read more

You need to know how wonderful the team at Carruth Cellars is to do a Wine Tasting event, Carlotta the Event manager made sure that a small event for just 5 ladies was VERY Special. It was a 50th birthday celebration for a dear friend. Communication was easy , clear, and consistent from the beginning , middle and end of the booking and during the event. We also learned more about paring wines and cheese. You loved ones would feel appreciated and loved if you do a Wine tasting or a Party at Carruths Cellars in Liberty Station.
