Great bloody Mary's and the place to watch football! The bar is awesome and full of a great selection.

I'm a long-term patron of @Carry_Nations. @Carrys is the best place in @Los_ Gatos to socialize, watch games, and unwind. The bartenders are the best in the town including @TiffanyA, @Ray, and @Justin. They look after their patrons, don't over-serve them, and when a patron does get a little well done they cut them off and, if necessary, help them arrange a ride-share or alternative way to get home. Makes good business sense. They don't want patrons to wind up in jail, or worse, because it will hurt @Carry's income and reputation. Plus the staff are good, responsible people. The owners, @Tim and @Keith, care about the establishment. They hire the best staff in Los Gatos, back them up when necessary, and have their backs That's why I'm saddened to see the recent review from a NEW Yelp member Donna M, aka @Margi, who felt it necessary to post an unflattering review about "T" here on Yelp. "Donna M," wrote this review after spending 6 hours @Carrys inhaling 5+ drinks. When she was well done, T cut her off and offered to get her an Uber, and even offered to drive her home. Donna M responded to T's offers by hitting T, which resulted in a police call. Donna M needs to get her facts straight. That's probably hard for her. Net, Donna M is incapable of saying "thank you" for a gracious offer of assistance. Even a simple, I'm sorry I made a mistake, would be okay. @Carrys is THE place to visit when in Los Gatos. The staff, especially @TiffanyA, make @Carrys the BEST bar in town. Love the place and @TiffanyA.

As I was waiting for my girlfriend to finish getting her hair done at the nearby salon, I decided to hit up one of the local places for a nice cocktail hour. While on the one hand it was refreshing to find a place where someone's conversation could flow without the need to shout above the noise, the lack of a decent size crowd caught me a little by surprise for a "hoity toity" place such as Los Gatos, CA and on a Thursday night. Regardless, the Manhattan I ordered was sublime, but the service was at best subpar.

    Very generous pours here!

This place has been around forever, and yeah, it shows, even down to their old-fashioned cash register, but it is really cool, actually. Service is top-notch and I just love the bartenders here. They give you generous pours. It's my go-to place for a glass of Cab, (which at $10 is a huge bargain!) Alexander Valley is my favorite. The youngish guy is super friendly and even knows his literature so that is a huge plus, me being an English major and grad school library nerd!

Hands down one of the best bars I've been into in about 5 years atmosphere five stars patrons five stars staff five stars humminess five stars everything here is five stars highly recommend this place you can walk across the street and get a slice of pizza and eat it at the bar

On my most recent trip, our reservation unexpectedly grew by a few people, and the staff went above and beyond to accommodate us. We really appreciated how hard they worked to make it happen! The cocktails are next level creative, delicious, and unlike anything you'll find at your average bar. My absolute favorite is the Bidi Bidi Bom Bom shot! And of course, we always order the caviar because... why not? The vibe here is everything. Whether it's girls' night, date night, or a celebration, there's always an amazing crowd. The DJ knows exactly how to read the room and keeps everyone singing along/ dancing with banger after banger. One night there was even a live saxophonist who absolutely stole the show, it made the whole experience feel so special! I also love the Renaissance inspired artwork by the entrance featuring icons like Drake, 2Pac, Sade, and more. It's such a cool touch and adds to the atmosphere. Second Story never misses, and I already can't wait for my next night out here!

No big deal, as I wanted the bar anyway, but something others should keep in mind. The cocktail list is plentiful and intriguing. I tend to avoid tequila, so that eliminated a good chunk of the options. I went with Rose Colored Lenses, which was fantastic, and decently sized. Presentation was beautiful. My friend had All a Dream, also very good. The wine offerings are minimal, this is very much a cocktail or champagne type of place, with caviar being the primary food service. Speaking of service, the bartender was excellent, both in his mixology and demeanor. It took awhile to get the drinks, but I assume that was due to the complexity of the cocktails, paired with having just opened the doors a few min earlier. Two notes: 1. The barstools were a little too low, imo. I don't normally pay much attention to that detail, but these were uncomfortably low for me, even with my long torso, I was hyper aware of my posture. So maybe that's actually a good thing 2. Other patrons were rolling in shortly behind me, so there is probably an early crowd when they first open, then a late night group that appreciates the 2am closing time. Interior is beautiful, and you can use the steps up to the 2nd floor either from N Santa Cruz or the rear parking lot off W Main. More substantial food options are a mere few steps across the hall at Heritage.

While seating is limited, you can sit at the bar, a booth, a table, or the patio, which allows pretty views of people returning their safeway carts and middle schoolers. That's a dangling participle: They don't return their middle schoolers, but they probably wish they could. Anyway, the Americanized-Mexican menu is heavy on burgers and bar appetizers, which were hit and miss. The French fries were unusually hard and crisp. The smashburgers looked better than they tasted, but that's not too insulting: they look outstanding. On two separate burgers the bland buns fell apart, so hopefully they'll get better options in future. If they won't toast the bun for me next time, I'll bring a lighter. The guac was good (my wife and I are picky) but the "queso" is queso-tionable. It's not the authentic, pale, chile-flecked queso you might expect from even Chipotle, but bright orange school snack bar nacho cheese. The elote salad was not very elotey and it was flavorless (my wife asked for lime, which helped juice it up). The beer list is impressive. They offer rotating slush drinks. I loved the strawberry margarita ($11 or $8 happy hour) but returned the mojito. It tasted like fake mint. It was a nojito.

She was incredibly knowledgeable about whiskey, recommended Elijah Craig 18 (which was absolutely worth it), and even told us about the happy hour specials. I really appreciated that she wasn't just trying to sell the most expensive drinks-she genuinely cared about helping us find options that fit our budget while making sure we had a great experience. She treated us like friends, and that's the kind of hospitality that keeps customers coming back. Unfortunately, our experience changed because of a man with tattoos on his hands and neck who appeared to be a manager or a supervisor. While Nieves was answering our questions and taking great care of us, he was sitting at the bar on his laptop talking with another employee. He interrupted her and told her to stop "chit-chatting" with us and go work in the back. As guests, that was uncomfortable to witness because she wasn't just chatting-she was providing outstanding customer service. After that, she seemed much quieter and hesitant to come back whenever he was nearby. Nieves was the highlight of our visit, and we truly hope she's treated with the respect she deserves. We'd absolutely come back to see her again for more whiskey and cocktail recommendations.
