Vesper has such a good atmosphere. Cozy, stylish, and way more versatile than your typical cocktail bar because there are so many different seating setups throughout the space. It feels upscale without being pretentious. We grabbed one of the high-top tables and ordered ahi tostadas plus a few cocktails, including the watermelon moonshine which was honestly delicious and super smooth. The tostadas paired perfectly with the drinks, fresh, light, and flavorful. As the night went on and other seating areas opened up, we ended up moving around a bit which made the whole experience feel even more fun and relaxed. I spontaneously went here on a Saturday around 7pm and was seated pretty quickly. The place is already pretty crowded so it does seem popular. As time went on, it became more packed. We sat downstairs and the music was very loud so I couldn't hear my bf most of the time. I believe there is a comment that stated upstair may be more quiet if you are looking for a more chill vibe. The ambiance and lighting is nice though. The food: We got shrimp ceviche and chicken tacos. My bf and I agreed that the ceviche was too sour but the tacos were delicious and juicy. We also think the chips for the ceviche were just the regular mid store-brought chips. The drinks we got were Lip Service and Elderflower Soda. Lip Service was much stronger than expected so I did not finish. The soda drink was alright as well to my bf as well. We weren't super impressed, but we're not big drinkers so take our opinion with a grain of salt. Overall, I would give it a good a 3.5 star if it wasn't for the service. The person who greeted us was very friendly and nice but our server was not great. She didn't greet us when she took the order, looked like she did not want to be there, and never smiled once. We asked what the "seasonal fruit" of the elderberry drink was and she was hesitant and not confident in her answer. Service was slow and the table that came in before us got served first. Went to the restroom and BOTH toilets were clogged. Several girls notified employees, but the majority of them passed by without helping. I accidentally spilled some of my water (that is my bad) at one point and the next table was so kind to offer me their napkins and helped me. We cleaned up as much as we could, but not a single employee helped at all. We also waited for a while after being finished and nobody brought our bill until we had to flag down ANOTHER server that wasn't even ours. We were never checked in on throughout the entire time. Wednesday night showed up before 9:30 if you want to get technical 9:24. They close at 10 but walked in and to the bar we go when we walked in we saw the bartender taking a shot. Another quality spot in downtown Campbell, The Vesper features craft cocktails and shareable plates wrapped in casual, modern aesthetic. I enjoyed the Indoor Voices although it was a little sweeter than the description led me to believe, but the drink was well made so I had no issues. A highlight for food was the Burrata and Pesto Sandwich, flavor was top notch and a great vegetarian option that soaks up alcohol well. Also the Ahi Tuna Tostada was packed on with tuna so I was very impressed with that in addition to its taste. The Vesper checks all the boxes for a nice evening out or a happy hour stop after work, however nothing quite blew away my expectations for the price point. A friend and I decided to meet late afternoon on a Sunday and she picked this place. We met at 4:30pm and even at that early hour on a Sunday, parking was rough. Downtown Campbell generally has fewer parking spots than there are restaurants and shopping. The place was also quiet, just a few people but the bartender and server were responsive and courteous. They also had Happy Hour till 6pm and the prices were not that much lower than the regular menu but it's better than nothing. They have a great selection of mixed drinks and not many choices for white and red wine or champagne. I generally like champagne but not Brut and that is all they had so we decided to go with the house white and it was excellent! I was trying to find a bottle of that to buy but no one carries it! Putting that aside, we also ordered the pita bread with the bean dip. The pita was soft and fresh and paired well with the dip. We didn't order anything else to eat but they have a good selection of appetizers and entrees. I took one star off because the table that we were sitting at was sticky and gross. read more

I've been to this whiskey bar before the pandemic, and apparently they don't have flights of whiskey anymore? So I think they changed a bit, but I still love the environment! It has a dark, rustic, romantic vibe with a woody feel to it as if you're in a cabin or something The server we had was very helpful and turns out he was actually the bartender so he was able to make us a unique style of cocktail because my friend wanted to do something with tequila, but nothing sweet. She ended up getting a hiccup cure, with some added ghost pepper bitters For some spice! I got the ginger snap, with less passionfruit syrup since that's the sweet part. I like sour things but not overly sour or too sweet. Lol. The way he made both of our drinks were simply delicious and we asked him to make us a second round after the food came!! For food, my girl got the tostadas and she said they were perfectly spicy with so much Sriracha aïoli sauce. She could taste it in every bite so she was very impressed!! I got the ceviche and it was so sour and quenching my thirst since it was a hot summer day, that I asked for some red chili flakes at the bar. Luckily, they had a whole little jar and once I spiced up my ceviche, it had the perfect spice and sour contents that made my meal complete!! Lovely place in downtown Campbell for a cocktail and/or a bite. There's a plentiful cocktail/drinks menu, as well several options for food. They also have a small HH menu until 6pm. Interior is very modern yet classic, somewhat dimly light but not quite as dim as some other bars. Seems to be a lot of seating, with a upper level as well. Staff was friendly and attentive, though it wasn't busy when were there for HH. Our items came out quickly. The deviled eggs were good, and the chips & dip was pretty regular (the dip was very cold like it had just come out of the fridge). In my previous visit, it was pretty fast service as well (not during HH so it was busier) and the flatbread was pretty good (though this doesn't seem to be on the menu anymore). Go upstairs for peace and quiet, stay down stairs for more of a casual bar scene. Their drinks are great. Unfortunately I do not remember what I had...except for one that had "absinthe" which was obviously the fake American version of it. Each cocktail has a very thorough description so you can pick and choose to your liking. Every cocktail was about $17 each. Which is pricey! but that's how it is these days. But you should be assured the quality here is real good. I had to dock 1 star for the interesting choice of leaving the emergency door ajar all night the time i went. While it did help with the steamy temps inside, wow did it ruin the night for those who sit close to the door! It was very cold and windy so maybe leaving it too open was an uninformed choice. Parking is tricky, it's mostly street. There's some residential areas you can park at if you don't mind walking farther. Okay so I came here for lunch it's a cute space with a really nice bar area dim lights. I believe they have a second floor that was closed off maybe they open it when it's gets busier? The day I went wasn't too busy. There was only one waiter at the time he was attending the people inside and maybe like two outside. I think one more waiter would have been great . I really enjoyed the meatballs appetizer. I did get the raviolis I think they were a little bland and it needed more filling inside the ravioli. The drinks were ok for $18 which is the norm I don't expect to pay less or more that is about the ballpark now a days $14-$18 dollars. Came here on a Friday night with some girlfriends just to grab a drink, and it was poppin'! We didn't have a reservation but they sat us right away, which was a nice surprise. The vibe was lit and the energy was great. My friend ordered the Figure 8, and after trying a sip, I can say it was really good. Another friend got the Josie, and her drink was just as great. Our waitress was super attentive and really helpful in recommending drinks, which made the experience even better. I haven't tried the food yet, so I can't speak on that but it smelled amazing! I didnt like the mustardy taste of the deviled eggs and the caviar was a bit fishy. The salad itself tasted fresh but for some reason even with the sauce on the side it was very salty.. maybe they sprinkled salt on top? I didn't like that. The dressing was an oil base. Mains i ordered the chicken tacos and it was soo gooood. I would come back only for these. Bf ordered the meatballs and it just made me question if they were made in house or just reheated frozen ones, they were so basic. I checked out The Vesper this past weekend for the first time and I really liked it! They are known for their wonderful cocktails. The menu is organized by spirits and their signature cocktails are $16 each. I tried their version of an espresso martini which was just the right amount of sweet, and served in a rocks glass. My friend had a vodka drink that had notes of apple, lemon, and cinnamon, it was perfect for the cold winter weather. We chose to share some appetizers and loved them all! We had the shrimp cocktail, which came with a generous portion of large fresh shrimp and a yummy cocktail sauce with the perfect amount of horseradish. The deviled eggs were delicious with the added caviar ( an additional $10). Meatballs were very good as well, but a little salty for me. I really enjoyed the ambiance, it's dimly lit, and there are lots of unique art pieces to look at on the walls. Our server was very kind and totally on top of it. Our server upstairs was not personable, didn't explain anything about the menu, was barely upstairs leaving us forgotten on a couple of occasions. This was my first time at Vesper, and unfortunately, I had a really bad experience tonight. I arrived around 11:20 p.m. and sat at the bar. The bartender I didn't catch his name, but he was Asian with jet-black hair played the staring game with me for a solid 15 minutes without even asking if I wanted a drink or if I'd like to see a menu. Then, literally at the last minute, he finally approached us and said, "We're doing last call will this be okay with you?" I said yes and asked to see a menu, which he brought over and then disappeared. Soon after, another woman came from the corner and reminded us that it was last call. I told her I was already aware, but still, no one asked if we wanted anything to drink. By then, I was pretty frustrated it was clear that no one cared whether we ordered or not. So, we just decided to leave. It was obvious they were more focused on closing up than serving a customer, which is incredibly poor customer service and bartending. I could have had two drinks before closing if anyone had actually made the effort. I truly hope the owner sees this and takes action to improve the service at Vesper especially in today's world where everything is so expensive. As a business owner, if that had been my bartender, I would have been very upset. They essentially turned away a paying customer. Lazy customer service is unacceptable. read more

We came in for cocktails before dinner, in a Friday night. I made reservations, but there is a lot of seating with the upstairs area. First thing you notice is it is loud downstairs. They have an active vibe, music, tables and couches. Upstairs was better to chat and visit. We sat in the couches. The waiter was great. This bar is pretty chill and not too loud! I went on a weekend and we were able to get a seat at the bar considering how busy it was on Valentine's day. Their cocktails are great and the bartenders casually check up on you which is really nice! There's only street parking, but if you have to park far, you should be fine, it's a nice walk and a good location. I recommend getting their deviled eggs and you can add bacon bits to it. I also suggest getting the drink called Sleepwalker (smokey & balanced tequila) and the Ainsley Fix (citrusy/floral). My friend got a spot a couple of blocks away. Because of the time, the place was quiet and we had the place to ourselves for a good chunk of the time. The ambience was great for us to catch up. We had a glass of house white and shared a dip with pita bread. The bar became busier as time went by. Overall it was a pleasant experience. Vesper is probably my current favorite bar in South Bay - their menus change seasonally and so far I haven't had a single drink that I haven't liked. I try to get something new every time and I still haven't tried everything on the menu! I also really liked that they do special drinks sometimes - there was a cool lunar new year drink this year that came in a cool cat mug and although the price was a little higher, I did get to bring the glass home! Super cute I've got a friend who always orders the meatballs and I've had the flatbread a few times (also delish). Our one constant is the the chips and onion dip (it's on the menu as the caviar option but you're able to order it without the caviar). My friends and I are typically there early Sunday evenings right before trivia and are just grabbing nice drinks and snacks - it usually isn't too busy unless there is a major event nearby or in downtown Campbell (if so then the place is packed). Service is pretty quick and friendly during the quieter times, but as it gets busier, there can be quite a wait between drink orders. I would still come during busier times but if I'm planning on having more than one, I might put in my 2nd drinks order before I've finished my first if we're on a time crunch! read more

I visited The Vesper with a group of girlfriends for a Friday night out around 9:30 PM. The atmosphere was lively, but unfortunately, the service needs a lot of improvement. We were seated upstairs which was very dark. We waited about 20 minutes before a server--an older woman--finally came by to take our orders. My friends each got cocktails, and I ordered a mocktail. At the end of the night, we split the bill. I was the last to be charged, and I chose not to leave a tip. My decision was based on the minimal service we received, as well as the fact that I only ordered a mocktail, one of the least expensive items on the menu. As we were leaving, I overheard the waitress mutter under her breath, "It's a good thing your friends tipped." I found the comment to be unnecessarily rude and unprofessional. I chose not to respond in the moment, as I didn't want it to spoil our night--but the remark certainly left a negative impression. While I understand that tipping is customary, it is not mandatory--especially when the service does not reflect the standard one might expect. I had hoped for a pleasant experience, but the server's attitude made it clear that customer care is not a priority here. Because of this, I won't be returning to The Vesper and will be sharing this experience with others.
