If I could give this business negative stars I would. I ordered lunch for my employees on a Saturday morning at 11 AM. 2 hours later, no food, no phone call AND no one answers their phone; their automated service had options but none of them worked. Their online chat didn't work. They took my order but never delivered. Do not trust them. Do not bother ordering, chances are you will not get your food. Oh and by the way, when I called the restaurant, they had no confirmed order but they did see that I placed the order so I know my order went through. The confirmation part of this order, which is their responsibility was never followed through. Now I understand why they have so many horrible reviews. Sadly still one star. We tried a second time after my last review, and the food was late and cold. We were offered a $10 credit and decided to try it again, thinking that maybe the third time would be a charm. It wasn't. The delivery driver was again 20 minutes late, and couldn't make change (our tab was $38 including tip and I had 2 $20 bills). We opened our bags while we were waiting for the driver to scrounge his car for change (a good 10-15 minutes) and found that two items we ordered were missing. The delivery driver basically accused me of lying and wanted to see everything unpacked and open to "prove" we didn't get part of our order. He even tried to follow me into my house when I went to get the cartons to "prove" we didn't have all our food- not cool. Once we "proved" it was missing, he refused to return to the restaurant and didn't want to subtract the cost from what we owed. I really would have expected them to be on top of our game since we already had a credit from a previous bad experience. My initial interaction was great, then it was all downhill from there. I was placing a catering order for 30 people and they said they would take of all the cutlery, napkins, plates, and serving utensils. I'm not sure what exactly happened because I am getting 2 different stories from them and the restaurant but my order wasn't ready when they arrived to pick it up. In fact, it hadn't been started yet because they didn't even my order? The manager that took the order supposedly left for the day or went on break and didn't put my order in? Ugh.....so the food arrived 30 minutes after my event started, nice, right? What a mightmare. Then to top it off, the delivery guy hands me 8 cutlery kits, mind you we had 30 guests, 15 napkins, 2 kinds of cheap plates that looked to be leftover from another delivery and to top it all off, 1 serving spoon! We had about 10 items that needed a serving utensil. The delivery driver didn't have anything extra in his car and just shrugged his shoulders and blamed it on the guy who handed him the bag. I was SOL. Can you believe this?! I want all my money back! This is the worst. And there's more! The $120 salad had no dressing and the queso dip with ground beef came in a large quart container (picture attached)with no means to eat it with or serve it in! Ok, I don't want to gush but let's see.... A delivery service that covers a huge spectrum of foods I love, provides you a menu where you can compare their prices with that of the restaurant and have some of your favorite sit downs at home in around an hour.... Sign me up..... Tonight I broke down and finally followed up on a low-key advertising campaign I've been seeing around AA county for the last 2 or three months. I'm guilty of seeing the smallish sign printed in a fairly straightforward font advertising this delivery service. It took me a week or so to finally go to the website and probably 6 weeks before I decided to give it a try. What an incredible thing I've been missing. These guys have got it right. They cover a wide range of tastes and have created a delivery area that borders on incredible. Don't get me wrong, this is purely a convenience for convenience sake but let's break it down anyway... Value - Avg Delivery is 5 bucks... That's it. Hell the local pizza tacks that on in their overall price structure and then charges a delivery fee. Timeliness - An hour is really not bad when you think of the range of foods covered. It really borders on incredibly efficient to me. Tip - They make a tip recommendation during your order and since we know the fee goes to the business I would highly suggest you take care of your driver. I remember my delivery days, that would have been the 80's FWIW, and my regular customers always got the warm/hot pizza. The ones that stiffed me... Well, you know cold pizza isn't all bad. Finally, and what I think will have the uninitiated complaining, is the 3.5% fee for credit customers. Banks have always charged this fee to their customers for credit card transactions and this is a small price to pay for the convenience of over 30 restaurants spanning 10+ different cuisines in my area alone. Ordered on two separate occasions and ran in to the same issues. First time the order came wrong and took much longer than the estimated delivery time. Gave it another shot months later. 1 hour estimated delivery time. Ordered. 1 hour is more than enough time to prep and deliver a 4 person meal. After the 1 hour mark I call and am told that the driver is 2 minutes away. 20 minutes later he finally arrives... without the plantains. He heads back to the restaurant to retrieve the plantains. Back in half an hour. He repeatedly apologized and I still tipped him because it's not his fault but I let him know that I was very upset with carry out. Spent more than $100 for bad service. Second time in a row that my order was wrong. The first time I was ensured a refund on missing items, yet nothing. Second time multiple items missing. Not wasting my time calling because the first time was a bust on refunds. Delivery drivers need to be trained to check receipts. I use CarryoutMenu a couple times a month. And all I can say is, so far, so good. My food is delivered pretty hot, and with the exception of a missing sauce or condiment, I've had no major hiccups. Sometimes the delivery times are a bit long, but its usually only on weekend nights, or rainy nights - as much as I can tell anyway. Yes, they did increase the tip to a mandatory 15% but to be honest, that doesn't really bother me that much, as I live in Howard County and I know how much gas costs in this area, and everyones gotta make a living right? But for the luxury of having T.G.I Fridays delivered to my house, I'm not going to complain, cause where I'm from, this kind of service is unheard of. This company has a whole bunch of filtered 1 star reviews so they look pretty good but really they are awful. They take too long to deliver, They do all kinds of behind the scenes nonsense which causes these delays but then when you complain they call you a liar. They are rude, uncaring and unprofessional. I've noticed that the majority of negative reviews are relegated to the unreliable review section. Since the preponderance of reviews are negative, perhaps they are reliable and the glowing reviews aren't. At any rate, I used carryout menu on a regular basis and then quit several months ago. I have not used them since. While timeliness was (and apparently still is) a consideration, I had issues with the quality of food received. i don't mind paying extra for the convenience of home delivery., However, sometimes the food did not appear to be freshly prepared, or comprised meals that the restaurant would not or could not serve to their eat-in customers. There should be some level of quality control given the additional charges that are tacked on. It appears there is no effort to ensure that the food delivered is palatable. I guess this review will also end up in the unreliable ghetto. Still, it feels better to have voiced my concerns. read more

I have been ordering from Carryout Menu for over three years! I have spent hundreds upon hudreds of dollars with the company for the past three years. I have a full history or orders for years! I placed an order this evening and was told magically and suddenly they do not deliver to the same address that I have been ordering from for years. A loyal customer turned down for a $60 order. Are you serious? I was informed this by Arial. I asked to speak with a manager and was told I would have to simply call back and speak to "Young." This is precisely why Door Dash is taking over your business. If you think alienating your customers and reducing your delivery coverage does well for your business let me know how that pans out, I would NEVER give you my business ever again. Our company uses CarryoutMenu for weekly company management meetings. I have used them for the past 16 weeks straight and 2/16 times they have delivered on time!! The concept is right but the staff and management will turn this into a failure. Businesses cannot count on them for timely deliveries, which effects their business not to mention on multiple occasions, their staff have lied and when we called looking for our food, we were told the food was delivered and confirmed by the driver. Will NEVER use them again, as time and time again, their delivery promises are broken, incorrect food is delivered and management has a lack of concern for any of these issues. I use carryout on a regular basis. They have always been professional and responsive to any concerns. Since I've started using them they have been late once, but only 15 minutes. Again - I tried this service. I placed my order 2 hours in advance. It did not arrive within their 15 minute time period. The food was cold. I tried to call their customer service line, which was no help. All they wanted to do was offer me a credit on the delivery fee. I have tried again and again with this service, however, every time something is ordered, it is wrong and cold. I DO NO RECOMMEND THIS SERVICE. If you're going to order carry out make sure you order from an actually restaurant, and not a subcontracted delivery service. While starting my second company and in school full time, I don't have a lot of time for cooking. My fiance and I use this service probably once a week to save time. A couple of times there have been time delays (which is understandable in terms of traffic, backed up kitchens, etc) but they're very professional and can call and let you know if your order may be late. There is a delivery charge and a mandatory tip for your driver. However, the drivers get stuck in bad weather, traffic, and have to deal with backed up kitchens and all of that stress so I think its important to take care of the drivers (all of whom are very, very friendly). Ended up canceling order. A phone call from them would have been the decent thing to do. This is the 2nd time that I had to call wondering where our food was. Never again will I order from Carry Out Menu. We've never had this problem with other food delivery services; being notified if there was a problem. Carryout Menu appears to have implemented a mandatory minimum 15% tip for drivers. A mandatory minimum tip is not acknowledgement of good service - it's a fee, plain and simple. The delivery driver is not a server - they don't fill my water glass, or bring extra dinner rolls, or share their tips with the people in the kitchen. From an on-line Carryout Menu job posting: "Drivers earn a base delivery fee of $2.99 per delivery (this rate can rise) and tips which currently average ~15%. And in an effort to counter rising gas costs, we are introducing a New Minimum Tip Policy of 15% on All Orders less than $75. This should have an effect of increasing the average tips to ~18-22%." The cost of providing the delivery is the same whether the amount on the bill is $20 or $100. Perhaps they think they would have lost more business if they raised their delivery fee. Carry out menu is great! My only complaint is that they don't have more restaurants. They are usually within the estimated time frame and the only time I experienced them being late was because there was a show going on at Merriweather so the traffic was terrible and they gave us a call to let us know. This is a perfect service for when and if you are too intoxicated to drive to get your favorite food;) My only advice is to order early because it usually takes about an hour and the later you wait, the longer it takes. read more

Great for a working professional who gets home and just wants the food to come to them. The food is there usually within an hour, the delivery fee is 5 bucks, and then you have to tip the driver. Sure, its cheaper to just get the food yourself- but if you are as lazy as I can be this is a godsend. They deliver for all different kinds of restaurants- Indian, Italian, American Chains(unos, friday's etc), chinesse, pretty much anything you could want. I've learned that for faster delivery try and order from restaurants near your house, or in advance. read more

Tried the service again, because I was homebound with a baby...such a bad decision. Initially, I received a phonecall that my food would be 20 minutes late, there was something going on with the driver. I was told the delivery fee would be waived. 45 minutes later, no food. I called the service line, and got a terrible customer service representative who said "So? The driver is five minutes away. We already said we would waive the delivery fee." I asked if he thought it was acceptable be 45 minutes late. He said of course not. I asked if he thought the delivery fee being waived was appropriate. He said he would refund me $10.00 (delivery fee is $7.49). The $10.00 refund did not happen, and I had to call several days later to recover the $10.00. Terrible service. read more

While it is convenient to have food delivered to your door, their costumer service is absolutely horrible! I have ordered from their twice. The first time, the food was more than half an hour late. I decided to give it another chance. They charged me more than $10 different then what was listed on the reciept that was emailed to me! When I called them to find out why, they just said, "oh, you must not have the second page of the reciept". The reason I didn't have it was because they didn't send it to me! They were at all apologetic. The manager really needs to learn about custumer service and keeping customers happy. Customers are what keeps companies in business, but that clearly is not important to him. I will NEVER order from their again. I will also encourage my friends and co-workers to do the same. Carryoutmenu should check with the affiliated restaraunts that the items for advertising are the same. TGI FRIDAYS management and i both also noticed the high level of sour attitude, impatience, rudeness and unprofessionalism needs to improve totally. Todd refused to listen to my reason for dissatisfaction and hung the phone on me 3 times. Not worth the $35 and i reported this company to the BBB of greater Maryland. I took a screen shot of the menu i ordered from on Fri June 9 2017 before it was changed. I showed the manager at TGI FRIDAYS the original menu on COM sitr i ordered from and he agreed thats is not what is on TGI FRIDAYS menu. Even with explaining what went wrong to Todd and other female supervisors or associates from COM, i had to drive all the way to TGI FRIDAYS myself & speak to the manager Ashanti who remade all the food and carried it to my car. He told me to report COM to BBB because i was treated unjust. There is an active consumer complaint that has been submitted to Better Business Bureau of Greater Maryland regarding false advertisement. I have provided a representative at the Dobbins Rd store with a case # on June 9, 2017. I would be glad to hear a response. This could be cleared up in small claims court, hoping we dont get that far because i have the clear evidence of false advertisment and error. Todd couldve just admitted the menus didnt match and give me a refund or maybe a free transaction for the future. if i could take away the one star i would... we placed an order ... driver gets to the door and asks... "what did order?" asking us to check the bag... since he wasn't sure was we were suppose to receive. we ordered fajitas and didn't receive tortillas. Been a customer for them when they first started in Howard County. If I had a problem with the food, they resolved my issues immediately. I understand sometimes it can take a long time than usual to get my food, there are many reasons why food can taking longer than usual. Sometimes it's the restaurant doesn't have the food ready to be delivered, or their's too much traffic on the roads, and sometimes one ordering food from a restaurant that is far from your home. Every single food delivery companies and restaurant makes mistakes, no one is perfect, unless we get our food delivered by flying drones. I personally had worked at many restaurants as an employee and manager. Basically there will always be customers who cannot be happy about their food or the service they received. You can offer them everything they want but that customer will not be happy. Running a food business can be difficult at times, especially with people like that. I have used this over-priced, over-rated service for the last time. They are consistently late and food is cold (if the order is accurate - which is almost never). For the amount they charge for delivery and tip, the driver should double check the order, but they say that is not their job. How is it fair for me to tip a driver based on the price of my order - shouldn't matter if it is $30 or $150, they still had to pick it up. And please, their areas are so arbitrary, someone should teach them how to read a map. I am closer than many of the restaurants considered out of my area, it's just the way the zip codes are delineated in Howard County. The previous times I have used carryoutmenu, they are late. I decided to use them today because I had time- whether they were late or not and I did not want to drive. I just received the order that I placed from Carryoutmenu. I ordered food from Friday's and 2 diet cokes. One of the diet cokes has mold and dirt on it. I did not notice until the driver left. I do not understand how a company could think it is ok to sell anything with mold and dirt even if it is a can. NASTY AND DISGUSTING. AND IF YOU WANT TO PAY BY CREDIT CARD YOU HAVE TO INCLUDE THE TIP IN ORDER TO USE THE SERVICE. I believe tips are for those that provide decent customer service.
