We weren't all that impressed but granted we may have ordered the wrong foods . My husband had ordered the liver, it was a huge serving , he said it was not bad. My fish & chips were a bit over cooked . My friend was happy with her tuna sandwich . Our server was nice & attentive in the beginning but she was busy so she didn't really check on us. We needed a couple of things... It's a big restaurant so people generally get seated fairly quickly. Comfy booths and tables that are nicely spaced apart . Don't really want to go into it, but... We always find the service at our local Silver Diner (Greenbelt) friendly but just not very good. But the service at this place--while still friendly--was much worse! Our main server apologized for the kitchen being backed up, which is fair and totally no one's fault. But a different server brought us our food, and when she did, she brought the wrong fries with my meal. This is NBD, and I just said, "Oh, these were supposed to be sweet potato fries," so she took the wrong fries away and then... nothing, never returned with the sweet potato fries. I had to bring it up with our main server after 15 minutes. I thought she would come back with them in 5--but no, it still took another 20 minutes after THAT. We finally get a half order of sweet potato fries after literally everything else has been eaten and we are getting our check. I realize that mistakes happen sometimes, but I really think at that point they should have offered us a discount rather than bringing us fries after we are already done eating. read more

This was our first visit in quite some time. There was no wait to be seated, and our server came over promptly. Due to the extensive menu, it took us a while to decide what to order. Our food was delivered quickly and was hot and tasty. The restaurant was clean and quiet, and the music was appropriate for the environment. Overall, we enjoyed our breakfast. Since it was a weekday morning, I believe this is probably the best time to visit, as weekends may be more crowded and make it harder to get in and out. read more

Our group went for an impromptu lunch at the Silver Diner located in the Gateway Overlook shopping center in Elkridge. It's one of our go to places especially for one of our members who is vegan and she can usually find something that fits her diet. New seasonal Blue Plate BUDGET-FRIENDLY specials are available Weekdays 11am - 4pm, Dine-in only. Two of us selected the Pastrami Reuben sandwich which came with a hill high portion of nice crispy bits of French fries that tasted freshly made. The only thing I wished for was that there be less stringiness to the pastrami. There was also the Shrimp Quesadilla and the vegan eater decided to deviate and chose the Alaskan cod and fries. I rarely write reviews after just one visit, but my experience was so different on two consecutive days that I felt it was worth sharing. Yesterday, I stopped in for an omelet and had an excellent experience. The food was outstanding, the service was great, and I had a genuinely enjoyable conversation with the area director. I left excited, thinking I had found a new local spot I would visit regularly. Unfortunately, today's visit was the complete opposite. The food wasn't nearly as good, and the service felt disconnected. I ordered an extra biscuit that never arrived. When my meal was brought out, it was placed at the edge of the table by an tall server without so much as a greeting or a simple "Can I get you anything else?" I was actually planning to ask him about the missing biscuit and another item, but the interaction ended before I had the chance. What made the contrast so disappointing was how positive yesterday had been. I had even spoken with the area director about getting the crab cakes for my mother in for a meal and discussed menu options for her. It felt welcoming and personal. And on the way out a server/manager almost ran me over as I was even trying to get out of their way. Odd behavior. Maybe yesterday was the exception, or maybe today was the fluke. Either way, consistency matters. Based on today's experience, I've decided I'll look for another regular spot where the food and service and ambiance feel more reliable and welcoming. i genuinely wanted this place to become one of my favorites, which makes today's visit all the more disappointing read more

Nice buzzy ambience here - the place was packed on a Sunday at lunchtime and we had to wait for a while to be seated. But the food was disappointing- my burger was overcooked and under seasoned. The fries also tasted like they had been sitting on the counter for a while. Not inedible, but not enjoyable either. I suspect the main reason for the popularity of the place is its location right next to Costco, which was also bursting at the seams. For that reason I may give it a second chance, trying to avoid peak mealtimes - perhaps the food is better when they are not slammed. But probably only if I am already shopping in the area. Aldi and Trader Joe are there too, so it might happen. read more

The food was great as always! I love seeing their inventive meals like the Benedict smash burger. Make sure you stir the blood orange soda before sipping because the sparkling water sits at the top. We stopped in for late breakfast on our way through the area. We've been to the Silver Diner in the airport and enjoyed our food, so thought this would be good too. Parking and restaurant are accessible, bathroom too. Spacious inside, lots of booths and tables that can accommodate large groups. We were seated right away and Keonnie was great! Keonnie came over immediately, introduced herself, and got our coffee, tea and water right away. She knew the menu and guided us in our choices, checking for accuracy, and made sure we had everything we needed. The food was excellent. I had the power breakfast with whole eggs rather than the egg whites, and sourdough toast. The toasted tomato added so much flavor - delicious! And I love the Smucker's Natural jelly (no high fructose corn syrup). The fruit cup was fresh and not over-ripe. Hubby also enjoyed his breakfast (over easy eggs, etc). Thought it would be a grimy or old chain diner but it looked pretty charming and all of the benches and menus seemed fairly new/redone. Food was great! Christian was wonderful. The watermelon cucumber mint lemonade, non-alcoholic, is refreshing and sweet/tart. The bruschetta appetizer was DELICIOUS, I probably could've ordered two and made it a meal. The sunflower seeds were an interesting touch but it works. Bread is still soft after toasted, nice big portions. The fries looked so basic were almost just looked over them but they tasted amazing, lots of salt (which we like). We stopped in to the Columbia MD location after shopping nearby. We usually frequent the Rockville location. This location is worlds apart from Rockville. My wife's omelet was unenjoyable with reheated sausage and a tired salad. My wings were good, but the Caesar salad was all wrong! Who puts kale and tomatoes in a Caesar salad??? The kale was old and wilted and the salad was not tossed as is traditional with Caesar salads. I did not eat the salad, and had it taken off of the check, leaving me with just wings for dinner. I chose to not eat anything else because I doubted that the food was fresh and healthy to eat. The waitress must have been new; she really was unfamiliar with the restaurant's food and the food industry, in general. She was not rude, but seemed disinterested in providing a good experience for us as clients. After reading the other reviews, it is apparent that this location is a horror story We are totally turned off. Corporate should immediately look into this location to protect the brand! Obviously, we won't be returning to this location, and will make sure that any visits to the Rockville location in the future, if any, will be early enough to ensure fresh food. read more

The service and food were excellent! We sat at the bar for brunch. Our server was SO pleasant and attentive while she multitasked her bar duties! The restaurant has great "homemade style" choices for breakfast, lunch & dinner! I started with the creamy crab and corn chowder which had a little "kick" of spice. Both my husband's and my meals were cooked and presented well. The portions were filling but not too much. They have wonderful mixed drinks that can be virgin or not! No! So I've never heard of this place and my friend suggested we grab dinner. I decided to try the meatloaf as it was suggested as very good. I had about an inch slice of the loaf and no more. It says it's angus but in my heart of hearts I think there's pork mixed. Because I got very ill about 20min after eating it. The plate came as described and I was shocked at the flavor. Wasn't bad at all. But after my friend ate their plate they told me this was not normal SD quality and hopefully that's an issue they don't experience often but I've made up my mind.
