I just kept putting it off. But they took care of several things on my car and even found, on the computer that one of the problems was still covered by insurance! This review is a continuation of the previous one I wrote about what happened on September 28,…read more2025, where they changed the oil of my car and forgot to secure the oil cap on the bottom and ruined my engine. My car is 2025 and had it for only 2 months and half. The first post was on Google. Today, December 3, I still have not received any response about my car. They had promised to have it ready by November 24. However, on November 25, I made a call that lasted almost an hour, during which I was put on hold and, in the end, they hung up on me and never returned my call. I am truly disappointed by the lack of attention and seriousness given to the situation, even though the issue was caused by them. Although they provided me with a rental car, it's not my own vehicle, and the communication has been poor. Additionally, my health is not good, and I cannot believe I am being treated this way. Megan was rude, condescending and didn't even bother to tell what was wrong with my car until I asked. She just text message me and told me my car was done. I told her my car tire needed air. And I asked three separate times to make sure it was done and she reassured me that it was. I get in my car and the indicator light was still on. I spoke to the manger Don and told him my dissatisfaction with my service. This is the second time I had to make a complaint. I am not sure if my car was truly looked at since I was reassured three times that air was placed in my tires and it was not. I will probably go to another place at this point.

He was great and if this was a review on him alone it would be 5 stars hands down. My husband and I went to Thomas to purchase a Dodge. We went through the whole process, signed the papers and then get in the newly purchased car to leave and the radio and ac all didn't work. It had worked during the test drive not 2 hours before. I was understandably not happy as we hadn't even left the lot and the car, (not even a year old) did not work properly already. The service department couldn't help us until the next day but they were offering a loaner vehicle, which is fine, but obviously we were upset as we hadn't even left yet. I get that things break but it's very disheartening. We go back inside to explore options and looked to cancel the deal. They were all too happy to do so but not without the MANAGER snapping at me that I was arrogant and then storming off, while my husband and three young children stood next to me no less. I know we were all stressed at the turn of events but still I was the one leaving in tears as we left but am so glad that the contract was ripped up if that is how they felt.

I won't return unless they make it right...Read on. DETAILS: I purchased a used car from this establishment for my daughter. I drove a long way after finding the car I thought I wanted online. It was reasonably priced with low miles compared to others I found. Due to the distance, I tried to get as much information as I could prior to making the drive. This should have been my first clue as communication was difficult, even for me a potential customer. When I was finally able to get a hold of someone, the conversations felt like I was a burden and they were always brief. I finally pulled enough information from them to feel somewhat comfortable about it. He said that they test drive them, put them up on a hoist and fix anything they find wrong with them. This particular car received new brakes and tires I was told. In the price point we were in, I did expect some if not many cosmetic issues due to the relatively low miles. We finally agreed to a price on the phone, so I drove down about 2 hours with my wife and daughter to seal the deal. We arrived took it for a test drive and noted that there was a definite shifting issue. I tossed the keys on the desk and said I can't take this car it has a bad transmission. The salesman went into spin mode to assure us it had been sitting and should be fine and sent us for a second test drive with his associate. It didn't seem to have quite as much issue on this drive. Considering the long drive and the lack of other prospects for this make and model I didn't want to go home empty handed, so I relented and agreed to purchase it. Well, after driving it off the lot the shifting problems returned as if by magic. It was a champ on the highway. Nice ride once it got past the bad shifts. So, we kept driving. But, it was obvious there was a transmission issue that was not self-correcting. We brought the car into two transmission shops that week and both places indicated the transmission needed to be repaired or replaced. I called the dealer back to let him know. At first, he seemed like he was actually going to be helpful. He talked to 'his' transmission guy and promised he would help us with the repair. Again, the communication was difficult, but had a lengthy conversation about 3 weeks after the purchase about an action plan. He later said he would send a check to help pay for the repair. It wouldn't be enough to cover it, but to me it was sufficient to put the issue to rest. Well, it has been over a month since he promised the check. So, I assume he was lying to me all the time and just stringing me along. If they come through, I will amend this review. But, I am not going to hold my breath. So, I would be VERY careful buying from these guys. In fact, I would avoid them all together, unless they have something you just can't find anywhere else. And absolutely be ready to bring the car to a mechanic to look it over first. This dealership is an example of why you should take the car to a mechanic before purchase. I do not believe these guys will disclose all the issues. You will have to find them for yourselves. And you will have to repair them yourself.

From the first call to the sales department, every step of the way, our leasing of our new car was organized, prompt, extremely service-oriented, kind, fun, and oddly relaxing. Let me first say that we have now purchased five Volkswagens from various Chicago-area dealerships,…read moreso we are very familiar with the brand and the typical dealership experience. Unfortunately, our experience with City VW of Highland was by far the most disappointing. When purchasing a certified pre-owned vehicle, customers expect the dealership to conduct a thorough multi-point inspection, often covering well over 100 items. Based on our experience, I seriously question how thorough that inspection was. Within 10-15 minutes of driving the vehicle off the lot, the oil warning light came on. After getting the car home, I noticed streaking on the passenger side of the windshield and discovered the windshield wiper was held together with electrical tape. We also found stickers on the vehicle's interior ceiling. When closing the passenger door, I heard a rattling noise and later found beer caps and an air freshener can wedged inside the storage compartment. Altogether, these issues added to the impression that the car had not been properly cleaned, inspected, or prepared before delivery. Individually, these issues may seem minor, but together they raise serious concerns about the quality of the dealership's inspection and preparation process. If these obvious problems were missed, it makes me wonder what else may have been overlooked. Normally, the oil warning light would have prompted us to return to the dealership immediately. However, after already spending more than five hours there during the purchase process (on Monday of Memorial Day weekend, not a high-volume day at the dealership) --with little to no hospitality from the dealership beyond access to a vending machine fulled with junk food--we had absolutely no desire to go back. Overall, this experience fell well below the standard we've come to expect from Volkswagen dealerships. The entire process was so frustrating and disappointing that it honestly makes us hesitant to purchase another vehicle anytime soon.
