Cute store that offers baby items from new born to toddler ages. Carter's is attached to OshKosh so there is a lot of selection. I walked in to return some items and the folder gal working was very quick in greeting me and asking if I needed help finding anything. This store is very organized and clean. I was able to return my items and purchase some new items too! I would highly recommend checking out the sale rack first! I came in on 8/2 at 4pm and a big thing that made my experience unpleasant was that the associates working were discussing very loudly a previous employee and speaking really negatively about her. They mentioned how she must've been an escort or something because there was no way she was living the life she was just off of being a carters employee. Molly was one of the main ones speaking loudly and I just felt really uncomfortable hearing all of this. I understand that employees will chatter about personal things while working, but I would recommend being conscious of what you're saying and who's around to hear it because it could have a negative impact on someone or possibly be triggering. read more

I shop here all the time and I've never been so disappointed. I got here 11/29 at 8:40 pm to do some shopping since they closed at 9. To my surprise the doors were locked but the lights were on and the employees were literally hiding behind the clothes racks folding the store clothes. When I asked through the window why the doors were locked the employee told me they closed at 8. Too bad their sign and website said something different. read more

Worst customer service! I went in to pick up an order, return some items and order some gifts. Manager gave me attitude about returning my items, but not wanting to use that credit toward my purchase. When I purchased the items online I used my credit card, but when I went to buy new things I wanted to use my debit card. I do not feel like I have to explain or justify how I purchase things. They're still getting my money. Also because I returned some items that did not fit my daughter, the manager was snarky and made a comment that I shouldn't have been able to use my rewards because they were given to me for the items I returned. As a manager, if you have an issue with Carters policies you should tell Carters and not take it out on the customer. read more

A couple weeks ago we were visiting some relatives in Sacramento and one of our activities was watching a family movie. We arrived early for the movie so we decided to do a little shopping. We stopped by Carter's to pick-up some clothing for my daughter. The store was immaculate, the staff was inviting and helpful. I thought the shopping trip would have taken longer, but for one sales associate: Denise. Between folding clothes she directed us to items on sale that fit my daughter. Just had a horrible experience here at the Arden store. I was picking up some things I ordered online and returning something that my niece didn't like. I come in it's not that busy there's a couple ladies with strollers and one dad in the store. There's no line so I get helped right away. I put the things I want returned on the counter and search my email for my receipt because it was an online order. I find the email and hand my phone over to the cashier, Ashley. While she's scanning my receipt from my phone another store associate comes to "help" her. This store associate, who I see by her lanyard is named Kelly, asks me when I made the purchase and if what I put on the counter was what's on the receipt. What the heck?! Literally have never been asked that before during a return. Usual question asked is why I'm making the return but never quizzed about information that I LITERALLY have just given them. She wants a verbal answer so I look at her and say Yes! I'm thinking, can't she can't see for herself by looking at the receipt and clothes (tags still on, picked up from that store last week) that's on the counter? They made me feel like a criminal for trying to make a return. It was horrible. I put in my card and get the return. Then the pick up. I didn't like it so I decided to return it after opening the bag to look at it. The return doesn't go through the first time around and the cashier helping me asks if it's a gift card I'm using for the return. No, it's my bank's debit card. Let me tell you why asking this is offensive for those who don't know anyone working in retail. A while ago my sister worked at Gap Arden for like 6 years and was a manager for some of that time. One scam my sister told me about was when someone makes a return and puts the money on gift cards instead of a credit or debit card. In some of these cases it was because the items were stolen and the person did not have the original credit/debit card so they use a gift card so they can get the money. I am so offended. Like what the actual fu*k. I did nothing suspicious and was treated like a criminal. Oh yeah, for the second return it went through the second time around. Also paid for all items with the same DEBIT card I used for the returns. They had no reason at all to ask any of those questions. Any way you slice it; there's no excuse for that kind of behavior! Puts me off of ever shopping at this company in the future. read more

This place is located in the Howe Bout Arden shopping center, right around the corner from Mods Pizza. As a Momma to a new baby girl, this place is great! They have a huge selection on baby clothes for girls and boys from outfits, onsies, tops, bottoms and more. They also have clothes in sizes 2T-8. They have a ton of toddler shoes too!! The ladies are very friendly and checked in with me while I was shopping which was appreciated. The prices are very reasonable as well. read more

I came in to exchange a Christmas jumper for my baby because it was too big and the sales clerk Kelly was completely rude. and asked "really snappy" if it was worn and I said no, my daughter just tried it on which is how I knew it was too large...PLEASE! Like I'm the type of person to wear something & return it! How insulting! and she looked in my Carter's account to find it and said "there's too many purchases in here, do you have the date" well obviously if I shop at Carters that much I probably don't remember the date! Do your JOB and look it up! and I asked if I could just get a smaller size and instead of trying to look for it, she replied "all our Xmas stuff is picked over" What terrible customer service! read more

This location is great. Being a new mom, I have had to venture into stores and get familiar with name brands that I was never familiar with in my "former life" (the single, social one). I've come to find that Carters is a great brand. You can find it various places, including Toys R Us (although very overpriced there). Carter's is always having sales and the perfect clearance racks, so if you have a Carter's near you, hit that up rather than somewhere else to get the brand. The clothes here are adorable and well made. This particular store is always clean, clothes are neat and In order and the customer service is great. I bought my son's first pair of "real" shoes here (for actually beginning crawling/walking and just not for aesthetic purposes). The salesclerk was knowledgeable about the type of shoe we should start with and luckily there was a sale going on! I'll take two please! This is a brand new Carter's store located in the Howe 'bout Arden shopping plaza next door to the Nordstrom Rack. It is a large store (bigger than the Elk Grove location). Being brand new (just opened on 3/1/12), it was super clean, and organized when I arrived. Also being brand new, their sale/clearance racks were pretty slim... just one rack in the back of the store for boys. The staff was VERY attentive, perhaps a bit too much for my taste, but I'm a pretty self sufficient shopper and don't really like the sales people to come back and check on me every 2 minutes to make sure I'm doing ok. (If I'm not lying on the ground unconscious... I'm doing OK... LEAVE ME ALONE! - but that's just me.) If you like SUPER attentive sales staff, this is the place. They take all the usual Carter's coupons and have the punch card where you can get $10 off after you fill up your card. Bottom line: I'm super happy to have a Carter's closer to home! Just hoping the SUPER helpful sales girl has the day off the next time I'm there. read more

My favorite store for baby/kids clothing! Located in the Howe About Shopping center so plenty of parking! They always have lots of sales going on and the clearance racks are usually pretty full. Sizes range from newborn to 6x kids. They have some neutral clothing, but mostly geared for either boy/girl. The staff is always friendly, very attentive and encourages coupons! If you come on Tuesdays, you get a double punch on your rewards card. After 10 punches, you get a coupon for your next purchase. Make sure you search for Carter's coupons before you come here! I just left this Carter's, and I will say that I was disappointed. I wanted to exchange some clothes that my son had just recently got at his bday party. So I asked for store credit (because I didn't have a receipt). The lady helping me said "oh we don't do that I'll ask," and the lady that came to the register said "what do you mean??" We don't do that here. Only in store exchange only! So I said "ok please give me back my clothes and I will return a day that I don't have to go to work." I seriously was just disappointed in her level of customer service. Especially during the holidays. I'm thinking she's a manager. Orange/red hair, glasses. She should defiantly not be in a management position. I will not be going back to that location. read more

My first baby is due in a less than a month, so naturally I want a cute coming home outfit! I ordered an outfit online to have delivered to the store. I've never used this option before so I didn't know exactly how it worked. However, my email from Carters this morning showed my package was delivered yesterday. Being a 9 month pregnant first time mom, I'm anxious! I called the store around 1030am to inquire about the status of my package and how the processed worked. The woman that answered the phone must have been having a bad day because she was not very nice, at all. She kept saying that I must be looking at the wrong email and my package was still in transit. Then proceeded to say that she has customers asking her questions, trying to handle inventory, etc. Then asked if I had even called customer service. I was surprised by her attitude, so I told her that she must just have a lot going on... I hung up and called customer service. Told them the same thing I told her... I've never used this service before not sure how it works... the woman was so very nice and explained everything and confirmed that my package had in fact been delivered. Fast forward a few hours, I come into the store to pickup my package. Of course I'm overwhelmed by cuteness and buy a few more items. The young lady that rung me up was very sweet. Overall, I plan on coming back, especially since it's right by my office. I just hope stressed people attempting to multitask don't answer the phone! read more

I visit Carter's to purchase clothing for my toddler and gifts for friends and family. This location has been pleasant to shop at. The staff has been friendly, selection for the sizes I need hasn't been an issue. The quality of clothing is pretty good, however, I have encountered pieces that don't wash well. I wouldn't consider it heirloom quality clothing, but it's durable enough. Also, if you sign up for emails, you'll get flooded with coupons to save a little extra money. You can't go wrong with that! read more
