I made a few calls last week just trying to find a convenient place to get my car inspected. I'm so glad I came across Carter's Corner. And it's right down the street. I didn't get any pictures because I was engulfed in conversation instead. I was lucky enough to meet an owner and another patron. Such lovely people. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by the lady at the desk. She was nice. Funny too. The office is neat and has chairs to sit and wait, drinks and candy. Way better than most shops I've been to. I'm so happy I ventured here. It is local and the staff is wonderful. Be prepared to leave your vehicle indefinitely! They work on their own schedule. New ownership and very slow!

We were visiting from Florida and our rear brakes went bad. Debbie was very understanding and was able to work us in on Friday (we were scheduled to leave on Sat). Highly recommend. I personally have never been there, but my wife takes our car there and we have always had great service. I took my car to the dealership and they gave me a crazy $600 quote to do a bunch of work that didn't need to be done, carters corner did it for $235 and that included an oil change that wasn't included at the dealership. The dealership (which I absolutely can not stand) gives me free inspections and oil changes, I would rather pay carters corner to do them than let the dealership do it. This will always be my go to garage and I will recommend it to anyone who needs a mechanic read more

In my family, there are 4 drivers and we have 4 cars. We all go here. With my car alone, I've had to do multiple things from oil changes to brakes to major repairs. This week, I was in the shop because the driver's side wouldn't lock. It was something electrical with the entire driver's side door. We brought in the car part ourselves because it was a special order from Mercedes. But with that part, the mechanics here were able to fix my problem in the same day. I think this is more a local spot for now, but it's definitely worth it as a destination drive if you're in search of honest workers and proper fixes. read more

I call for an estimate on having 4 tires replaced. I was going to buy 4 new tires, have them delivered to Carters and have them mount and balance the tires. I was told the cost would be $150. Other places I contacted gave me an estimate of $20. I have been using Carters for several things and have found them to be in the ball park on most casts, but this is just way too mush. read more

I was in Hampton when the Saab's brakes failed. I went in and this place was packed with customers and cars. I assumed it must be a good garage, and it certainly was. The owner, Robin Morris, fit the car into their schedule, bought the pads and rotors and had them installed the next day. I went there because that's where I was, but I saved a considerable amount versus what the dealership would have cost. I wish I had a shop like this near me. Highly recommended. read more

I started using Carter's Corner when I first moved to the area and was satisfied with their service. The first unpleasant incident occurred when I took my car in for an oil change, synthetic oil per manufacturer's directions. The bill indicated synthetic oil along with the cost but the oil needed to be changed much sooner than usual. When I went back, I suggested that the last oil change probably was regular oil. The owner said that it was fine because they use a synthetic blend and I took it at his word. Time for the next oil change comes around, I was there at 6:45 to better my chances of getting everything done and returning to work. It's now after 8:00 and I'm still waiting for them to finished so I ask the owner how much longer till they're done. The owner returns to say that his mechanic was angry with him because he wasn't finished working on his cousin's car. Finally the car is ready and I leave. Less than 2 miles from the shop and my tire pressure light comes on, two tires were very low and continued to leak until I replaced my tires. I returned to question the ethics of the mechanic, the owner swore that his mechanic wouldn't do that. That is the only time in the sixty years I've been driving that I had to replace tires because of an oil change, I now travel much further to a trustworthy mechanic and manager. read more
