This dealership was quick and easy to work with when getting my husband into a car. I truly commend them for making the purchasing process simple and fast. Unfortunately, after my husband was involved in an accident with the vehicle, the customer service experience went downhill. We were never fully informed about the extent of the damages. We were only told that the repairs were extensive and that the insurance company wanted to total the vehicle. While the dealership did advocate for the vehicle to be repaired since we hadn't had it long -- which we appreciated -- the communication afterward was extremely poor. Communication with the representative, Jose, was unacceptable. I repeatedly requested updates, documentation of the damages, and a detailed list of parts being replaced, but was consistently given the runaround. On top of that, his tone became condescending. At one point, he asked my husband a question and then said, "Oh wait, or do I need to ask her?" -- which was disrespectful and unprofessional. As a paying customer, I expected transparency and respect. Instead, I felt dismissed and spoken down to. I live in EL Paso, TX and have been in the market for Toyota Tundra for a few months. I found on autolist.com a 2014 Toyota Tundra Truck posted by Cartex Motors, a Houston, TX based family-owned used car dealer. According to Autolist.com, which they "CARTEX Motors" posted this 2014 Toyota Tundra truck listing it at $4,000 for this truck (see photo). Insane right!!! Called 1 Jan 2025 inquiring about 2014 Toyota Tundra CrewMax SR5. I spoke with a young lady, who sounded she could be between the ages of 16 to 19 years old. When asked about the listing she stated that the car is $19,995 and $4000 down. I informed her of the posting which stated the tundra was listed as being only $4,000 not $19,995. She had no clue to what I was talking about and tried to brush it off. There was no attempt to verify what I was talking about. I asked about the carfax and if can being sent to me so I can review it before I made my decision to purchase a flight to look at the truck. She said " WE DO NOT SHOW THE CARFAX UNTIL ALL PAPERS ARE SIGNED" (RED FLAG!!!!!!!!!) but she did assure me it had a clean title. She also stated " The title of the car is a clean title because she can visual see the title at that moment." It was apparent this young lady should have passed the phone to an adult who knew what they are talking about. Based on this conversation I end the phone removing this 2014 Toyota Tundra and inexperienced company from my list of possibilities. Based my conversation with the young lady (who answered the phone), posting of 2014 Toyota Tundra on Autolist.com, and past reviews I can only conclude the Following. 1. Poor customer service 2. I purchased a 2010 Lincoln MKT from Cartex in December 2018. In April 2019 the car's catalytic converters need to be replaced and the ego boost had problems. I was told the only way I could get another car from them was to repair all repairs needed to the car and provide them with another down payment for another car. I returned the car to them the next day @ 9:50 am (they open at 10:am I called Cartex and spoke to the salesman and stated that I returned your car and the keys or in the ashtray. The salesman stated that he seen that I had brought the car back stating nothing else about the car. Two days later I get a call from my insurance company stating that Cartex filed a claim on the car stating it have bumper damages and the quarter panel was damage. Instead of calling me they took it upon their own to contact my insurance company a file this fraudulent claim. The car had "NO" damages when it was in my possession. If there were damages to the car it was done in their possession. Moreover Cartex hired a new female employer that is the most rudest, hateful desk person I have ever seem. They soon have never had the first ladies that work there terminated. The place is a JOKE. I will never advise anyone to purchase a vehicle from this establishment ever. BEWARE OF WHAT YOU PURCHASE. purchased a 2014 Kia Optima from these people, Richard was the salesman. When I left the car lot, and drove to my Mom's. When I got ready to leave, the car wouldn't start. I called the dealership and spoke with Richard, because I didn't know what to do, it was close to 7pm, dark and I didn't know what to do. He gave me the number of a tow truck guy, Sajid, at 832-988-8178 and have the car towed back to the dealership, I cried because, $2k is a lot of money for me to give away, I was so disappointed, I called the number and no one answered. I immediately proceeded to call Richard back, and of course, no answer. I was lost and crying, I felt like these people had scammed me out of $2k. My Mom suggested that I check to see if it would start with a jump, thank God it did. Fearful that it would stop before o made it home, my Mom agreed to follow me. The next morning I got up and it wouldn't start again. It was Sunday, the dealership was closed. The next morning I had to go to work and drop my kids off and school, the car wouldn't start. I got a neighbor to give me a jump. When I got to work, I called to speak with Richard, I was told to hold that he was in the lot. I assumed she informed him that I was on the phone. She came back and said that he had left. Although furious at this point, I left my phone number, but never received a call back. I struggled with what to do. I had my neighbors to give me a jump everyday until Friday, I couldn't afford to be late again for work and the way my schedule is by the time I would get to the dealership, they would be closed. I decided to go to Auto Zone and have them check the battery alternator and starter. Once the guy put the machine on the battery, he learned it was bad. I had no choice but to purchase a battery, I could risk the car not starting while away from home and my kids in the car. Meanwhile, still no call from Richard or anyone at CarTex. Low and behold, they called today, because $500 pay to get the TTL for the car wa due, I politely asked if they were going to reimburse me for purchasing the battery. The receptionist told me I needed to speak with the salesman, Richard. He got on the phone and alluded to the fact that I should have brought the car in. How could I when they would be closed by the time I got off. All I wanted was the $197, I paid for the battery. He was not concerned nor did he care that the fault was third for not following up. After an very difficult exchange, I told him I would be there to pay the $500 and he said we would talk about the battery. When I got to the dealership, he was nonchalant, didn't care told me that they weren't going to give me my money back for the battery and was very rude and condescending. Please, whatever you do if you buy a car from theses people, test drive it and take it to a mechanic or Auto Zone and have them put it on the machine to be sure everything is good. Obviously, the Car I purchased hadn't been inspected either or else it would have been known that the battery wasn't good. Now I'm stuck doing business with people that don't care about me as a customer or the fact I decided to patronize their business.
