    Signature Thick-Cut Cider Pork Chop*
    Cece L.

Dinner on 5/9/2026. My sister and I had the tuna crudo, short ribs and pork chops for dinner and we felt stuffed and unable to finish the pork chops because that was the saltiest out of the bunch. Tuna crudo was absolutely delicious, highly recommend! Short ribs was interesting and tasted like it was an experiment. The flavors felt like it would've been better on a steak instead. Pork chops was just ok and tasted salty. It's good to enjoy the ambiance as it has you forget about the amusement park environment. Service is a hit or miss depending on how busy they get. The beginning was good as my server checked on us but after the food came out it's like the server was too busy to check on us.

The salmon was perfectly prepared and the aioli made me want to "lick the plate" (I didn't but not sure what I would have done if there hadn't been people around). Service was on point and very professional. A great mid day meal

Exceptional experience from the staff and food. Everything was so delicious. We were sat near the kitchen and watching the sous chef take charge was fun to watch. My only complaint is the way the system is setup. Why bother with a mobile check-in, if we also HAVE to check-in in-person AND still had a 10minute wait after our reservation time. It was such an obnoxious process for no reason. And they really pack the restaurant, so no matter how quick and great the cooks are, you will be waiting. The atmosphere was worth it, but that doesn't help the check-in portion.

Got a last minute random reservation. Two of us ordered against the $62 pre-set meal: pasta $62 bread $14 IPA $17.25 shrimp entree $62 The meal included a salad and soup. Ambiance was nice. Service was slow. Food was ok. Bill ended up to almost $200. Could be a nice change from regular Disney food, but likely won't come back. Menu is pretty limited.

I've been here twice. The first time we came, we sat inside at the bar and the ambiance is old school, regal, dark, and cozy. Perfect place to unwind after a long day at California Adventure. This time around, we had patio seating at one of the high tops, and it's a great place to see the characters walk by. We waived hi to Mickey, Chip, Dale and other characters several times as they passed by. Their food is good, but the standout things for me would be their cocktails. I've had their espresso martini and double pair martini, and both are 10/10. Our server was great. She checked on us regularly, and even though we stayed for a while, she made sure our glasses were always filled. 10/10 on service as well.

Food: 3/5 Service: 3/5 Ambiance: 3.5/5 Portion to Price: 2/5 Overall: Came here for a nice sit down dinner. The extended review... Food: Duck Schnitzel- 3/5 - An interesting dish. Definitely wouldn't have imagined something like this. Since I'm a big fan of duck I went for this dish. Pretty standard fare. Service: 3/5 - Standard service. Ambiance: 3.5/5 - We sat outside on the patio since we didn't have a reservation. The outside wasn't as glamourous but the interior was definitely nice. Portion to Price: 2/5 - Pricing was a little pricier since you are at a sit down restaurant in the park.

I finally had a chance to try Carthay Circle Restaurant and had a good first experience. It is the upscale/pricier, table service restaurant of the Disney California Adventure (DCA) park, but the interior, service, and menu options definitely reflect this. If you're looking for a quality experience and sit down meal, the Carthay Circle Restaurant is definitely worth checking out. We were a party of four adults and two toddlers with an advanced dining reservation. We came in on a Thursday for dinner and had a minimal wait past the reservation time slot. The interior of the restaurant is nice and really gave the ambiance of old time, upscale Hollywood. Service throughout the meal was attentive, friendly, and prompt with requests. We ordered a few appetizers to share for the table and, of course, entrees. I really enjoyed the Salmon Carpaccio with Potato Crepes as well as the Roasted Artichoke Hearts for appetizers. For my main course, I tried the Signature Thick-Cut Pork Chop. It was exactly as described; thick cut. The cook was done well but the more I kept eating it, the saltier it got. Perhaps, I received a one-off piece, but as is, I could not recommend it. Our purpose of the dinner was to celebrate a birthday and the meal at the Carthay Circle Restaurant truly allowed us to do that with fun and class. I would return in the future for a special celebration being sure to try something other than the pork chop. (NOTE: You will need a park ticket to enter Disney California Adventure to dine at Carthay Circle. At the time of our visit, the Magic Key Passholder discount was accepted for the meal.)

This is a nice sit down restaurant option. While they do offer walk in, I would highly recommend making a reservation in advance. We came here for my kids' birthday. We were seated upstairs close to the kitchen, so there was a lot of traffic, people going in and out of the kitchen area. Our server was decent. She was as attentive as she can be. She was clearly busy with other tables. We have had more friendly servers in the past, so this was a one off. I would have appreciated more attention even if it didn't appear that we needed more. Our dishes were served as expected. We ordered just the right amount. All the dishes were cooked to our request. I would recommend this place as one of the nicer sit down restaurants in CA Adventures. They do also have lounge seating down stairs if you prefer something less formal, casual and quicker.

In 2020 I had been a long time Disneyland Annual Passholder and had reservations to celebrate my 44th birthday at Carthay Circle on March 19th. As you know, Disneyland closed on March 15, 2020 for over a year due to COVID. Since that time, Annual Passes have been replaced by the ridiculously expensive Magic Keys in an effort to decrease the amount of locals at the park (mission accomplished) and as a result, I have only been to Disneyland once since the closure. Anyways, I decided that this year on my 50th birthday we would try again. Hilarious how much you have to go through to eat dinner at this place. After obtaining reservations from the Disneyland app, I had to get park tickets and reserve the same day at the parks. We also had to buy the 3 day local ticket offer at 250 bucks each because buying a 1 day park hopper would only be 50 dollars cheaper for 1 day rather than 3 days Ok, on to the restaurant- it's beautiful. Think Musso and Frank in Hollywood, just not actually 100 years old. The recreation of old Hollywood is on point in every way (check out the sconce in the bathroom). Service is fine, but not exceptional. They give you the schpiel as you are walked up the stairs to the dining room, but their heart really isn't in it. Look for the hidden Mickey on the ceiling mural in the main dining room. Our waitress was friendly, but also just going through the motions. No suggestions on what to order or casual conversations here. As for the food, it ranged from excellent to OK. I ordered the pork chop and it was amazing. It came with an apple compote with bacon or pork belly and was perfectly cooked- moist and smokey. My wife ordered the short rib ravioli, which were tasty but surprisingly dry. I had read that in the past they had amazing fry bread, but now if you want bread you have to pay 14 bucks for rolls. I'm sure they make them there, but they really aren't special. I don't even think the butter is special either. At Remy's on the Disney Fantasy they told us the butter came from this exclusive farm in France that only makes butter for them. Also the brussel sprouts were tasty, but they were cooked to a mush, so if you like crispy brussel sprouts, don't order these. Finally, we weren't given a wine list. There are wine suggestions listed on the menu for each entree, which we did order, but for a fine dining restaurant this seemed off. I'm glad I finally made it here, but I won't be returning. If I want to spend over 100 bucks per person for dinner at Disney I will be going to Napa Rose. Still the king of fine dining at the Disney Resort. Hope the quality doesn't drop off with chef Andrew Sutton leaving Disney. I guess we will have to go to find out.

What a wonderful, special experience. We waited a bit for our table and perused the menu outside. We were seated upstairs in a private room with a cozy booth. The artwork and ambiance around the entire restaurant was classic and timeless, very Old Hollywood. We sat in the Buena Vista room. The service was top tier and on it, filled with great recommendations so that we could all try a bit of everything. Their cocktails are delicious & strong, you can tell each one is made well. The brussel sprouts, the bread, the salmon app, all of it was divine. Not too large of portions except for the pork chop, but the flavors make up for it. Wow I cannot wait to come back

A nod to old school Hollywood in the middle of California Adventure! The name comes from Snow White's debut theater. The bread was so good! They were very alert to my hubs allergies. He had the pork chop. Service was great and love the vibes here. Many photos of Walt and Hollywood.

So! It's tough to give one of the most beautiful places a less than spectacular rating. BUT, for as beautiful as this place is, the food is absolutely just not worth the incredible cost it comes with. It's not. For amusement park food? Amazing.... But when a single skewer cost 4x more then Bengal BBQ's and somehow taste old and under seasoned, you are clearly just paying for ambiance and "the experience." If you have the money to blow, sure go ahead and go, but I promise you that if you are any type of foodie, this isn't going to wow you.

The top restaurant in DCA. It is highly recommended to make a reservation ahead of time. The quality of the food, atmosphere, and service are impeccable. I have never had my glass of water refilled so fast, they have servers walking around ready to refill at any moment. The food was perfectly made and presented, everything tasted delicious and had big portions. Wonderfully decorated with lots of seating as well as private dining rooms.

Carthay Circle Restaurant Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Carthay Circle Restaurant

Do we have to be in the park to make reservations?

No, in fact you need to make reservations as far in advance as possible to even have a shot at snagging one.

    Do they have kid's menu?

    Yes, they do

    Are there walk ins?

They have some availability for walk-ins, never hurts to check.

I made reservations on my app for August 3 at 2-230pm; however Yelp indicated Carthay Circle is closed? I can't seem to find my reservation confirmation on my app or my email.

I don't think Yelp is updated

    When can we make reservations?

    Starting 2/3/2021 at 11am

    Do you need reservations?

You don't need reservations, as there is sometimes walk up availability, BUT, would recommend it if you can. Can also do it far in advance in the Disneyland App.

Do they have TVs to watch the NBA finals?

No TV's in the lounge or restaurant.

Do we have to order entrees or can we just order the introduction dishes for a sit down dinner?

Yes, there's a bar area downstairs that is walk in only and you can get appetizers and awesome drinks. Highly recommend it!

Do you need to have a pass to eat there ? I had a friend that told me you didn't that they gave you a special pass and someone from the park would walk you there if you had reservations. I don't know if that's true ....

You need to have a paid ticket to get in.

Does anyone know if the tour is at 10:30am each day? Most reviews are quoting this time... And does it usually take about 30 minutes?

The tour runs daily at 10:30am and it averages about 15 minutes.

Can I find out what's being served in March? Heard the menu changes every season?

The Menu Doesn't Change A lot Maybe A Few Items The Best Way To View The Menu Is Use The Disneyland Website And Select Dining Then Carthay Circle Restaurant, Disneyland Resort Keeps The Menu 100% Up To Date, Hope That Gets You In The Right Direction

Do you need to enter the theme park to dine here?

Yes you do. Unfortunately it's exclusive to people with a California Adventures Theme Park ticket.

Can I watch world of color while eating dinner here?

Short answer- No. However, dining here does provide an option for World of Color Fast passes when you order from the special menu.

It has this dark but classy aesthetic and I was not prepared for that (in a good way). This restaurant has been here for about 2 years with different ownership and menu so I was excited to see what they had to offer. Hugo helped us with our order and he was very friendly and professional. We went ahead and ordered the ahi tuna taco, pork belly bao, garlic fries, the margharita pizza, the yuzu lobster pasta, and for drinks I got the virgin burning thyme. My friend got that and other drinks as well. Ahi tuna taco - 5/5 probably the best food item for the evening. The tuna was fresh, perfect amount of kick in its sauce, and the outter shell was perfectly crunchy. I think them replacing the shell with wonton was exceptional with the texture. Every bite was extremely satisfying. Pork Belly bao - 4/5 everything was delicious. The bow itself is bouncy and moist. There wasn't anything special about the sauce inside with the pork belly, but I would definitely give it a try at least once. A great portion with your friends or family as an appetizer. Garlic fries - 3/5 It was a bit underwhelming, but nothing horrible. I could not taste the garlic at all, but the fries itself was cooked to perfection with the outer being pretty crispy and inside being soft. Margharita pizza - 4/5 I really like the crust and the breading of this pizza. It was crispy and the pepperoni was cooked to perfection. I really like the small pepperoni because it gives an immense amount of flavor in each bite. The cheese and the tomato sauce was fine, but nothing special. Yuzu lobster pasta - 4/5 I wish I was able to taste more of the Yuzu since that's in the name of the dish, but I could not. If it was just called the lobster pasta I would say it's amazing. The tomatoes were perfect to lighten the entire dish with the heavy sauce and the pasta. The lobster was cooked fine. Other than that it was fine, but I would say either enhance the Yuzu flavor or remove it in the name of the dish. Burning thyme - 4.5/5 I really like the acid and the balance of sweetness and sour in this drink. Usually, I get skeptical when I make an alcoholic drink version because the bartender tends to over sweeten the drink, but this was not the case, and I enjoyed it a lot with our food.

Shout out to our server Elise for being quick and attentive. She checked on us a few times and refilled our waters. Throughput took under 20 min after ordering. Food & drinks: I ordered the Nashville Hot Chicken and Dad's Mai Tai. The entree included baked & fried chicken thighs, drenched with hot honey Nashville sauce, and served with mac & cheese, green beans, and a biscuit on the side. The sauce was sweet and had a slight spicy kick to it. It made the chicken even more delicious. The mac & cheese was creamy, and the green beans were seasoned well. The biscuit was dry, and the butter didn't really help. I like sweet cocktails, but the Dad's Mai Tai was too sweet for me. The maybe extra shots of rum would've been sufficient. Pricing: I really enjoyed their dinner! Highly recommend the Nashville Hot Chicken entree! Prices are more than you'd expect, but it's not surprising in this economy.

ENCHILIDA SUIZAS, lobster + shrimp filling, corn, poblano cream sauce, pickled red onion, cilantro, queso fresco, I give 5/5, I enjoyed the combination of the sauce and enchiladas, it wasn't overcooked and had a great refreshing savory flavor. Plated very nicely, visually appealing. BULGOGI KIMCHI FRIED RICE, fried eggs, gochujang, green onion furikake, pickled radish, cilantro, I give 4/5, overall I enjoyed this plate, but I do feel the beef could have been slightly stronger in terms of flavor? The rice was holding all the spices and taste. DULCE DE LECHE FRENCH TOAST, crème fraîche chantilly, brûléed banana, chocolate sauce, maldon salt, I would give 5/5, presentation was beautiful, taste wise I really enjoyed it, had a very good balance of sweetness and not too strong. I know my ratings are less than a 5 in general, but I really felt the whole experience was pleasant, enjoyable, good food and good vibes, therefore 5 out of 5

We were craving to come here and enjoy their beers and food. We had no idea that the Monster truck…read moreevent was taking place. They were charging for parking so we paid $30 plus processing fee. Kevin the manager couldn't care less that we were here as customers not for the monster truck thing so they didn't give us a table and we had to sit at the bar. He initially said that there was a 30 min wait even though we could see empty tales. We had already paid so we had to stay to get the $30 discount on your bill when spending $30. He was not willing to refund since they were not technically the ones charging you. Once we sat at the bar, the bartender was nice and made us feel comfortable so we could enjoy our night. The place was crowded with families with kids, adults just overindulging and being very loud. The moment the event started time got closer, all of this crowd started leaving which allowed us to really enjoy our night. The food was great as always. The poke nachos are really tasty with a good balance of fish and nachos. The fish and chips is one of our go to dishes they are always perfectly cooked. We have noticed that shrinkflation has happened throughout the years, but after enjoying a few beers you don't notice anymore. This was the first time trying their burger and it was amazing! The patty was perfectly cooked and the flavors just worked together. We also decided to give the beeramisu a second try and we enjoyed it. It is a creative and unique twist to your traditional tiramisu. Since it had been a while, we didn't even know that they have a club now. We gladly join and got the poke nachos as a welcome gift. Overall the experience started on a bad note but we left happy after good food, service and drinks. Also, Kevin came by after the mess to check on us and apologize for the inconvenience. Make sure you check the angel stadium for event before you come, they will be busy.

We had the unfortunate experience of unknowingly going to Karl Strauss right before a Dodgers @…read moreAngels game, and WOW was the restaurant packed. The wait was projected to be an HOUR! But we got a super nice host who noticed our mistake and kindly sat us down right away. We appreciated the customer service. We ordered the brussel sprouts (3 out of 5) and the carne asada fries (4 out of 5). Both were large portions, enough for two people to share as an appetizer. I especially enjoyed the green cilantro sauce on the carne asada fries! I love that this location lets you do a beer flight with as few as 2 beers. Some of my favorite beers I tried in my flight were the Golden Stout, Wreck Alley (a stout), and Boat Shoes (a tropical IPA). One thing that shocked me about the restaurant setup was the lack of TVs. It has a sports vibe, especially with Angel Stadium right across the street, but the only TV I could see from where I was sitting was super far away. So come for great beer flights and fun apps, but not to hang out and watch sports.
