I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with Cartwright Exterminators has been so unacceptable that I feel obligated to warn others. We hired this company for a rat problem and paid for a one-year warranty, but they have refused to honor it. After sending them a detailed letter explaining the ongoing issues, the owner called me -- and that phone call was one of the most unprofessional interactions I've ever had with a business. He asked for my side of the story, then repeatedly cut me off, told me to "stop talking," and when I asked perfectly reasonable questions, he told me to "stop playing games with me." This was the OWNER speaking to a customer. When I asked why his technician pulled the traps three days early, he defensively said, "We don't work weekends, so it was only one day early." I explained that rats do not take weekends off and that he himself recommended leaving the traps until Monday, yet his technician removed them Friday. His response? He claimed he was "in the area and saw no activity." This was proven false. I visited the property just hours later and found fresh rat droppings around the perimeter of the home. When I asked him how that wasn't considered "activity," he once again accused me of "playing games." I also told him I had asked the technician to put out poison and bait stations. The owner insisted that it was offered but that "the tenant refused." This is interesting, because when I asked the technician to put them out, he told me it would be an additional charge -- meaning it was part of our service, he simply refused to do it. We ended up doing the technician's job ourselves. My husband and I put out bait stations, poison, and additional traps around the home where droppings were found. Within days, we caught one rat. We then sent our tenant two electric traps, and within a week, he caught three more. I even have time-stamped photos. This all began at the end of September -- within a month four rats have been caught. Clearly, the rats are still present. Clearly, the problem was never resolved. And clearly, Cartwright is refusing to uphold their contract or honor their warranty. Between the rude and hostile behavior from the owner, the lack of professionalism from the technician, and the complete failure to address an active infestation, I strongly recommend you do not use this company. We paid for peace of mind and professional service -- instead, we were treated with disrespect, left with an unresolved rat problem, and forced to do the work ourselves. Save yourself the stress. Many pest control companies say they will do something and it's included, and than charge you for something you never agreed to. Cartwright lives to their promise. I have five dogs and a turtle and they have always been very cautious around to even go as far as purchasing eco friendly products per my request and ensure the turtle is safe and not bothered. I've been chasing the ants at home literally ant hill by ant hill. Yesterday I went outside and pulled some weeds and I found the biggest ANT FARM! it was at the base of a palm tree and covered several square feet! I called Cartwright mainly because we use them at work the technician who takes care of us is great! Well, today one of the Cartwright family members came out to take a look and spray for me! A wonderful experience. After finding out they are a family owned business and various members of the family own the business I'm all in as far as a monthly service for the house and plan to let my neighbors know. After being a customer for 13 years, I feel like there is validity in what I have to say. I wish there was a negative star rating for how poorly this company's service personnel perform. If you are interested in having thorough pest control, turn around and look up another company. They're great when everything is wonderful but if there is any sign of alarm, good luck in getting ahold of management for service. Oh and if you feel like getting verbally berated for any logical reason, give their corporate office a call, they will take care of you time and time again. I would not use them again. They put some organic roach bait in several places and even right above the outlets. When we asked them to remove it from the outlets because a poison like that shouldn't be in a location that kids could access, they got an attitude about it. They removed it but insisted that they didn't put it there. Well, who would then? Nobody is going to grab this organic roach bait and move it. That doesn't make sense. They were even "nice" enough to say if we slander them we would be hearing from their attorneys. Nice customer service. Don't accept blame and then threaten to sue for slander.
