I had an extremely upsetting experience with Carvana, both in terms of their policies and how their customer service treated me. I began a purchase for a 2021 Land Rover Range Rover Velar through Carvana. On March 19, 2026, I received an email from Carvana that my order had been approved. Later that same day, before midnight, I decided I no longer wanted the vehicle and canceled the purchase. I then received another email from Carvana confirming that "Your vehicle purchase was canceled on March 19 at 11:58 p.m. EDT" and that my refund was being reviewed and processed. In other words, I canceled the same day I was approved, well within roughly 24 hours, and long before the car was ever shipped or in transit. The issue is a 690‑dollar "nonrefundable" shipping fee. The day before, on March 18, 2026 at 5:46 p.m. EDT, Carvana emailed me saying they had "initiated your nonrefundable payment of $690.00" to cover shipping and labeled it a "Nonrefundable shipping charge" to my Citibank account. In a small note at the bottom of that email, they added that if I canceled my order by March 19, 2026 at 5:46 p.m. EDT, they would refund the shipping fee. While I did not cancel by that exact timestamp, I did cancel later on March 19--within about 24 hours of approval--and before any shipping actually began or any transport service was provided. Despite the fact that my order was approved and canceled the same day and the vehicle never moved an inch, Carvana refused to refund the 690‑dollar shipping fee. When I contacted support via chat and spoke with an advocate named Amanda, I explained that the car was never shipped, that my purchase and cancellation happened within roughly 24 hours, and that I had emails confirming both approval and cancellation on March 19. Instead of looking at the situation reasonably, Amanda repeatedly hid behind the "nonrefundable" label and the technical 5:46 p.m. cutoff, showed no flexibility, and showed no understanding that they were keeping hundreds of dollars for a service that was never actually rendered. She thanked me for my "patience" while essentially refusing to help. In my view, this is exactly how a policy becomes predatory: Carvana takes a large "nonrefundable" shipping fee up front, then keeps it even when a customer cancels quickly, the car is never shipped, and the company has not actually provided the service that fee is supposed to cover. It may be technically within their fine print, but it feels like they are profiting from customers' cancellations rather than acting in good faith. I will never buy a car from Carvana again, and I strongly encourage others to think very carefully before paying any shipping fee or relying on their customer service to treat you fairly. read more

Sold my car to Carvana. Went smooth no problems. Tried to then purchase a car from Carvana. First one they brought me to look at would not pass our Pennsylvania Safety Check. Retuned it and requested another. Second one had loud thumping noise coming from the rear end. Requested another one and then read in Carvana's 7 day Guarantee that the 3rd car was not covered by it. Since the first two were bad, I felt that I couldn't afford a third bad one. Since I needed to purchase a car fairly quickly, I cancelled my request for the third car and requested a full refund of the funds already taken directly out of my bank account for the purchase price of the car I would be receiving. I have not received my refund as yet but I trust Carvana will stand by their stated refund policy. read more

Took them in to the authorized service center - they said no leak but they need replacement - however they are 4/32 so Carmax won't cover it. I sold my 2011 Subaru Outback to Carvana . they provided a good price, for the age and condition of the vehicle. Online Service: it was very easy to navigate, and process all the paperwork on line. the only thing I wish i knew before making my appointment that both owners of the vehicle had to be there in person to turn over the vehicle. it makes sense as to why, but it should be mentioned prior to making the appointment. Drop Off Location: Overall experience was great, place was kinda hard to find at first. once you get there, which door was hard to find as well. but once that was figured out, the carvana personel on site was kind, helpful, and easy to work with. I dropped off on a Saturday, and even with Sunday, the money still hit my account on Monday. I would for sure sell to carvana again! read more

Carvana has been a terrible experience. They gave me issues because my license was expiring within 30 days of car purchase after taking 10k deposit they wanted to make me wait longer. Same with insurance policy expiring within 30 days pf purchase. Truck got delivered fairly dirty with crumbs in the console and mirrors and windows filthy eoth fingerprints all over it. Day 6 (1 day left of 7 day return policy) having the truck, my check engine light comes on and I had to take it to one of their mechanics to be looked at. I'm not waiting on what the actual problem is and have to waste another day dropping the truck off which will probably be overnight because they diagnose it and then have to fight with the warranty company to approve the repairs before actually doing them. The mechanic told me they once got a carvana car brought in where they spray painted the shocks to hide fluid and rust on them. On top of this, they told me I may pay out of pocket expenses for anything not covered by them. Another issue is it does not come inspected and you must wait past the return policy until they mail registration and tags 30 days after the return ends before you can get it legally inspected for your state. This has been a nightmare of a process and believe I will be returning the truck and I'm sure my 10k deposit will take forever to be processed back to me. I will not have a car now for work because I gave my old one away to a family member and dropped it from my insurance. 1/2 star would be too high of a review. read more

Beware! carvana has an arbitration clause inserted into all of their purchase agreements. If you sign it, it means you lose your ability to sue Carvana for anything they do wrong. They could intentionally misrepresent the condition of one of their vehicles and after it's yours, you may very well be stuck. The specific clause states all disputes are subject to arbitration at Carvana's chosen arbitrator. That's right! They get to force you to go before their handpicked arbitrator to plead your case. You have zero say in choosing the arbitrator. Sounds very much like the deck is heavily stacked in their favor! Don't do business with this outfit. read more

Unreliable! Received an on-line offer from Carvana to purchase my vehicle, and then I scheduled a pick-up for the sale. Received several confirmation emails and texts from Carvana the night before and the morning of my appointment. Then, on the day and within the window of my scheduled appointment, Carvana rescheduled my appointment to the following week. Not even as much as a courtesy phone call explaining the reason for the change. Since I had already taken the day off work for this appointment, I called to see if I could drive my vehicle to the sale hub in Philadelphia, and they claimed they didn't have any open appointments. Really?! Nothing about this process was convenient. Based on this experience, I do not recommend Carvana, and I will not be using them in the future.
