Sadly, this East Meadow Carvel has gone downhill. What was once, the best Carvel in the area, is now a disaster. The new owners do not keep the same high standards the previous owner did. After giving this store a few chances, I'll now give my business to another location. I order chocolate sprinkles on my sundae; each time I have gotten other things in my sprinkles such as cookie pieces, nuts, etc. The cross contamination is a constant. The toppings bar is an unsightly mess. It's gross, unsanitary and dangerous if you have allergies. Hot fudge, peanut butter sauces are no longer generous even when ordering full price. Last time most of my was on the cover, that's all there was. Ir was as if I just ordered vanilla ice cream with a blend of chocolate sprinkles and whatever else fell into the sprinkles. The sprinkles have an unpleasant waxy texture and zero taste now. All in all. I truly miss the old owners and their quality standards. For sure, I won't be going back to the EM location again. I've been going to East Meadow carvel on 477 Bellmore Ave., for 20 years & I live an hour away. This location is THE very best of all. We order all of our cakes here & everyone that works here are THE most amazing. This location is clean, the machines are always cleaned. The employees are exceptional with their friendliness, their talents of cake decorating & everything. Their ice creams are the best from any location. We order cakes at least 3 or more times a year & every time we are just overwhelmed at how they go above & beyond anything you could expect or ask for. These location is usually busy, but they have plenty of employees to tackle the crowd. They have a big selection of soft serve in comparison to most locations. My favorite is the pistachio soft serve. This place has a great premade frozen novelty selection, from mini cones and mini ice cream bars, mini ice cream cookie sandwiches, mini ice cream cups bonnets, sundaes, and a great selection of cakes. This place also serves mini, small, medium, and large ice cream options. The carvels by my house don't sell a mini option so i thought that was nice. Always get your receipt bc there's usually a coupon on it for a free ice cream or discount. read more

While I love Carvel products this is not my favorite location. Picked up a Fudgie the Whale cake for Fathers Day today, handed the server a valid coupon for $2 off that I got on the Carvel website. Server frowned and stared at the coupon awhile, then pronounced "we don't take any printed coupons here." Instead of handing the coupon back to me she crumpled it up and tossed it in the trash. I was wearing a mask and gloves so this wasn't a cleanliness issue, and my purchase fulfilled all of their mumbo jumbo small print BS coupon criteria (see pic). Not cool at all. read more

I just want to say that Diane is amazing - I originally went to the carvel in westbury to have 2 cakes made for my sons 2nd Birthday . When I told the westbury location that he had nut allergies they told me they couldn't be sure that the cake wouldn't come in contact with nuts( who the hell says that) I then called this location and fell upon the wonderful Diane- she made the most beautiful cake for my son and I didn't even give her a picture! I love this location. It is by far the cleanest, most well stocked, and has the most staff on hand on any given night to serve the guests who are craving all of the ice cream novelties and sundaes. I especially love Wednesday buy one get one free sundae day! The soft serve is the best around and they put a very generous amount of toppings on the sundaes as well. I have been to other locations and they barely put any fudge on top of the sundae; this is not acceptable. I sometimes like to go in for a chocolate bonnet or a Carvel cake for a friend or relative's birthday. I have read that the reason why their cakes and ice cream in general is because it is made with real milk...my question is this: as opposed to what? Powdered milk? Or is it because they use whole milk instead? Regardless of how or why, the fact is the ice cream here is simply the best and when I am in the area and in the mood, this is where I will come for ice cream. Period. Hands down. read more
