Updating my review from 2 years ago - I decided to give Layers another try and bought two different flavors of "brownies" and 2 pints of ice cream. To start, they "brownies" are not actual brownies. They are individual slices of cake. I didn't notice this 2 years ago but having it again last night, the Cadbury brownie tastes like a layered sheet cake made from box mix. The frosting on top wasn't too sweet, but certainly doesn't carry the richness of Cadbury chocolate. In a slice this simple, there's really no place to hide and paying that much for something that taste like it was battered out a box is not worth it in my opinion. The Dubai chocolate slice tasted better, but tbh, the Dubai chocolate cake from Costco not only tastes better but has a better price point! I was really excited to try their ice cream - I loved their flavor choices, but that's where my fondness pretty much stopped. The pints were pricey and taste super home made (not in a good way). The ice cream was hard and while it tasted like sweet cream, it was definitely not churned enough to carry a smooth texture. They pints were Van Leeuwen prices but the taste and texture was far from quality ice cream. In this case, I much rather pick up a pint of Hagen Daz, again much better price point and better quantity. The store is pretty but I won't be returning. read more

Be careful when ordering from this place. I ordered an engagement cake and paid the full amount through Zelle. I specifically requested delivery at 5:30 PM, but the cake was not delivered on time. They barely answered their phone, and after many calls, someone finally responded and promised delivery by 6:30 PM. Because of the delay, I had to ask all of our guests to wait before eating, and the photographer had to stay longer since the engaged couple needed to take pictures with the cake first. The cake was not delivered until 8:00 PM, after the party was already over. I was later told that the driver had serious health issues and was in a coma. While I am sympathetic to anyone facing a medical emergency, the bakery should have communicated with me honestly and made alternative arrangements instead of leaving me waiting for hours with no clear information. To make matters worse, the cake arrived partially melted, and they used artificial flowers for the decoration without informing me beforehand. The final product did not look as expected at all. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience, especially for such an important event. I would not order from them again. read more

This was the first time we ever did a cake delivery using Uber Eats. Layers was exceptional at making sure the birthday cake said exactly what we wanted on it. They also went over and beyond and making sure that the balloons were wrapped around the cake. The delivery was flawless. The cake was flawless and we are so happy with the results. read more

I was walking to my car and my eyes wandered and caught this place. Immediately I got a sweet tooth and veered right in. As I entered, I beheld before me a nice display case of beautiful baked treats that warmed my heart. They had things like; Kit-kat cheese cakes, nutella sundaes, and pistachio cupcakes to name a few. I was greeted by the cashier who was great and who really was just the cats meow. I wound up finally deciding on a nutella sundae and, also succumbed to the sweet voice of that red velvet cupcake that grew a pair of lips and was softly calling my name to take her too. "Oh Jake...Jaaaake....its your old friend red velvet calling...." In case you havent realised I love red velvet. Now when I ate, the food was good but it didnt stand out as much as I had hoped in my humble opinion. I guess the best way to put it is that the flavors didnt really pop. I trusted all the great elite reviews. Not sure we are all on the same page here. Flavorless, over processed ingredients, over produced. There was so much product in the cases! The carrot cupcake was stale & the layer cup I got was not good at all. Staff was extremely helpful, patient, friendly. Prices were OK, spent $10.34 on two items. Parking lot is huge and free but had a couple sketchy characters wandering around. For this reason, I would not recommend this location to my friends or family. I will not be returning. read more

Products include cupcakes in a wide range of flavors, parfait-type desserts they call sundaes, and ice cream in pint containers only. Staff were knowledgeable. We loved the Layers Three Milks sundae (a combo of things like tres leches cake, chocolate pudding, and biscotti cookie cream). Red velvet cupcake was also tasty, with a fluffy cream cheese frosting, but didn't sit well, so I had to knock off a star from what would've otherwise been a 5-star review. read more

This place is my current favorite. Stumbled upon this place by chance and I'm obsessed with their Lotus Biscoff sundae and their ferrero rocher cupcake. Hubby loves the Nutella brownie and the raffaello cupcake. We once got the Ferrero Rocher cake and it was AMAZING!!! Their service is excellent too. Always super friendly and helpful if we need assistance or just guidance in choosing something. I have never left a single review ever let alone a single star review. But this place warranted a review. This was our first time at layers in Holbrook and we were so excited to try many things. The store was clean and looked nice. We ordered a Blondie, which wasn't a Blondie at all. Nor was it fresh or tasty. It was definitely old, hard as a rock and tasteless. We ordered 2 vanilla cupcakes that also seemed old. Extra dense and tasteless. Same went for the red velvet cupcake and the milk chocolate cupcake, which seemed more of a dark chocolate. Either way it was not good. In the end, we were very disappointed. I thought these were made fresh every day but obviously not. read more

Update! The place is going down the hill. LAS cake my hubby and i got there was stale, and the cream was a little sour or musky. The sponge itself felt firm instead of soft and tender. It was overall tasted dry, bland, and even slightly sour. The girl behind the counter had a bad day and gave me an attitude even though i tried to accommodate her to find change and ran to the car on a rainy evening. I picked up a cake for a coworker. He's had their cakes before, and he really loves the Ferrero Rocher cake. So I called the store to see if ordering in advance was necessary. They said they have cakes every day, so ordering is not necessary. So I decided to visit the place to pick up a cake. The first impression of this store is that the inside looked and smelled wonderful. Every item looked beautiful, and the store was organized nicely. All the cakes looked like works of art. I asked for the Ferrero Rocher cake, and the lady packed it in a box for me. Immediately after taking it and getting home, I took a picture of it, and realized she had touched the cake with her hands, there were hand prints on the cake! I called the establishment to let them know, and they said I would have to go back to the bakery for an exchange. I didn't have time to go back for an exchange, and I was upset that would happen in the first place. It's really outrageous they don't know how to handle their cakes. Maybe if you get a cake from them make sure you watch them take the cake out, and check your cake before you leave. read more

What a fantastic establishment. I tried about 6 cupcake flavors here, some were better than others, but none were bad. My favorites are the biscoff and ferrero. What I love most about the cupcakes here is that the next day they feel and taste just as fresh as they did the day before. This place is clean, organized, and they have an awesome variety. We have been to the Layers bake shop in Islamabad, Pakistan and we had a delicious moist chocolate fudge cake. We came in for my sisters birthday and we excitedly ordered each of the 3 different brownies (one was too dry) and 3 cupcakes and two Sundays/shooters. We loved the salted caramel and lotus shooters, no complaints, but would love a crunch factor! The red velvet cupcake was moist but not exactly a very cream cheese frosting. The lotus cupcake was the best - corn sponge and the perfect cream with biscoff flavor. The chocolate cupcake was good, it had a nice chocolate flavor, but more of a sweet milk chocolate and not so much decadent fudge. The Belgian malt brownie was the best! Complex flavors. There's so many flavors it's overwhelming but most of the cupcakes have the same chocolate cake base and just a different frosting so it's all essentially the same flavor. The lotus biscoff cupcake seemed to have a hint of nutmeg or some festive spice added to the cake batter as it wasn't plain old vanilla as I had thought it would be. It really pleasantly complimented the biscoff frosting. I'm not sure if the other vanilla bases tasted like this or they had some light variation to pair with the different frosting. The chocolate bases certainly didn't. Really the gems of these goods are the frostings. The cake is dense but moist and fluffy but sort of reminded me of out of the box cake. The Belgian malt frosting was pleasantly good. The rafaello tasted EXACTLY like the chocolate, it was very well done. The biscoff one was exactly what you would expect if you're familiar with biscoff. The ferraro rocher was a favorite out of my friends and the icing had the crunch of nuts (also like the chocolate itself). The brownies aren't brownies at all but cake slices with frosting sandwiched between them so don't expect something dense and fudgy at all. If you want to get a Nutella or Belgian malt cupcake, skip it and get the respective brownie flavors of that instead because it's basically the same just bigger and cheaper. As for the "sundae" why isn't it filled all the way to the top? At least one more layer can be added or each respective layer could be a little thicker. It feels like you're being cheated lol. If there's gonna be a whole gap at the top, get smaller cups. It was decent. I got the tres leches one and every flavor within was very distinctive and didn't seem to overshadow the other. The presentation is all stunning. The bags and boxes the goods come in are gorgeous. And everything in the glass is spaced out well and not cluttered or confusing to follow (everything is explicitly labeled). DO NOT let these sit out for long because they will melt like an ice cream cone. I live really far so I don't expect to come back any time soon but perhaps if I'm in the area I might stop in for the salted caramel one. read more

We got the Swiss chocolate and ferrero rocher cupcakes with a Belgian brownie to split. Celebrated my mom's birthday with a Three Milk Cake from the new Layers Bake shop in Westbury, Long Island. The store is located in a strip of stores attached to a Fine Fare supermarket. It's small clean and very cute. This is a strictly pick up and go type of store. Run by a mother and daughter duo. A sweet pair albeit not the best at piping though the young lady did her best and I did encourage her attempt. They have some delicious looking treats reasonably priced. The Three Milk cake was delicious, not too sweet and not overly complicated. Though the simplicity did make me wonder about the price point at almost $40 for such a small cake. Either way the recipient my mom was very happy with it. We will definitely return for the individual portions which might be a better value all around. read more

They substituted a thick chocolate one that I didn't care for as much but it certainly was not bad. Just looking forward to the carrot cake that I didn't get. Tried two brownies - very dry. Belgium malt and Cadbury. They tasted pretty much the same both dry but one was more dense. Definitely go for the cupcakes if you are gonna give this bakery a whirl! I haven't been here in a long time. I was excited to return. It's 1:35 on a Wednesday, 11/1/23. One woman in there who has the attitude of a real POS. I came in she said hello. She didn't come over to help me. She was either on her phone or whatever she was soooo busy doing NOTHING. I said can I buy something. She literally threw her arms up in the air, walked over with the most disgusting attitude I have seen. I was clearly bothering her from DOING NOTHING. She was slamming the sliding doors to the cupcakes. She needs an attitude adjustment, she needs to be taught manners. This disgusting employee needs to be FIRED. So a fellow yelper and good friend put me on to this bakery through a tik tok video (aaah the power of social media) and the hook was that this is a bakery that originated in Lahore Pakistan, which happens to be the origins of my family as well as my fellow yelper who promoted this to me. I had to go give my support so I made a trip out to the Long Island location (which was a nice surprise). I had to see if they can go toe to toe with America's best so I took a crack at their cupcakes and i'm guessing a cake in a cup? Or do they call it a sundae? Great idea concept though. At first glance , their marketing looks great, color choices are definitely Tiffany influenced translating "luxurious" . The young lady who helped me was knowledgeable of all their products so I went with the best choices : salted caramel, Oreo, Ferraro Rocher and the chocolate mousse cupcakes along with the 3 milks in a cup. Presentation of box and bag looked great along with their catchy tag line (see pic). Ever since Sprinkles' frosting was the superstar, advertised as "imported from France" , the cake in the cupcake was reduced to supporting actor. So of course, my initial critique was going to be their frosting. The signature cupcake swirl on the cupcake was satisfactory but I must say, Layers was definitely competing for real estate in your stomach. The Ferrero Rocher's frosting was the only thick and luxurious frosting that threw me off (was still pretty amazing. Wonder if they sell that in a jar as a spread) but over all , the cupcakes definitely passed the rigorous test. The tres leches 3 milks cake in the cup was a valiant execution but I was spoiled with the best tres leches cakes made in America, so according to my preference, it was Okay (call me a snob but I haven't had chocolate cake in a tres leches). Regardless , their baking game is up there with the greats and I have yet to try out their cakes (which could possibly earn their fifth star). This is a subtle gem of a bake shop, definitely worth every penny and if you may not like everything they have here, you definitely will love most of what they have. Noticed this place near the restaurant we were at for dinner on Yelp, and decided to give it a shot. Right off the bat, the friendliness the employees stood out - some of the best customer service of any establishment I've been to. The showcase made it so hard to decide what to choose since everything looked so delicious. The galaxy sundae and Nutella brownie proved to be great decisions, because both were delicious and reflected the clear passion of those working there. I was craving something sweets so I yelped and found this place while in Westbury. While walking towards the entrance, there were many people walking in and out which's a good sign. The store is very small but they have showcases where you can take a look at all of the bakery they have. There are cupcakes, brownies, full size cakes, sundae and drinks. (Hope I listed them all here. Sorry if I missed something.) I got a Matcha cupcake, Chocolate Hazelnut cupcake (don't remember for sure) and a Belgian Chocolate Brownie. I found them all rather sweet for me but the price is pretty decent. Next time if I'm in the area again, I'll try some dark chocolate ones and hopefully they are not too sweet.
