You can taste the soul and love in every bite. The cakes are denser than regular bakery cake, as pound cakes should be. But they are also moist and just perfect. I loved everything we got, lemon pound cake, pound cups in the flavors of coconut (their best seller), strawberry shortcake and strawberry, lemon cheesecake with a crunch. Overall, my favorite were the coconut pound cups. I'm really loving coconut cakes right now. It was a Coconut Oatmeal cookie. It was huge. It was super moist and gooey. It was full of flavor. It weighed about a quarter of a pound. It was fabulous. We bought that cookie, as well as a Sea Salt Chocolate Chip cookie, from Dani at the Wethersfield Farmer's Market today. Sadly, that's the last Wethersfield market day for the season. As our temperatures drop and the farmer's market season comes to an end, you may have to sample Dani's treats via shipping or local delivery within a 50-mile radius of Wethersfield. She sells eight varieties of cookies, and this week has a special on Brown Butter Sea Salt Rice Krispie Treat Sheets. Check out her website and take a look at her wonderful products.
