A classic favorite, not of mine, but I go along for others. That's how agreeable I am. And the Italian ice place closed. The hard ice cream was really mushy. This vanilla peanut butter cup wasn't so bad, but the chocolate peanut butter underneath it was soup. Carvel is Carvel. You know what you are getting, they are pretty much the same. So really...no reason to review them. But on a day like National Soft Serve Day when they have a deal going on, thats a different story. It was advertised they have $1.00 small soft serve cones today. But when we got there it was limited to chocolate and vanilla only, and was more like half a child's size. And cash only. Compare this with the Carvel up in Belmore on Jerusalem. They had any flavor available and was a true small. Like 5 times the size of this Carvel. So cheap of this location. I gave an extra star because the kids working here were really nice and understanding, and were clearly stressed due to the policy from this location today. Whoever decided this was how they were doing the promotion did their employees, customers, and Carvel on a whole a disservice. read more

Really love this store, friendly service and very hygienic. The ice cream here is better than other Carvels I've been to.

I absolutely LOVE this place there are so many options to choose from and overall the service is great. All the cakes here are well decorated and looks very neat! I brought my kids to this store for the first time and OH MY GOD! I have to say that this is going to be my new favorite dessert shop to bring my family! The ice cream tastes SOOO good and everything is so well decorated and my kids absolutely LOVED their ice cream sundaes! 10/10 highly recommend!!! read more

Small Carvel store,not a big selection of ice cream cakes but I did find what I was looking for. Have not tried their other ice creams but they always look busy. Store is clean and staff are helpful. Prices for cakes are comparable to supermarket. read more

If I could give this store zero stars I would. I wont go into language barrier and service, those are well enough for what it is. My complaint is about the ice cream it self, I usually get either cherry vanilla or rum raisin. These 2 flavors have suffered tremendously, the cherry vanilla is basically butter fat, if it wasnt for the cherry flavor you would think you are eating frozen butter that isnt cold. The rum raisin has a gritty texture, barely any rum flavor, the raisins were nice and plump, the ice cream itself was not really sweet, more of a salty flavor, and it had a weird gritty feel/texture. I have tried. I have no idea what they are doing at this location, but something is wrong. I have tried other locations and those flavors taste better. read more

I've seen these wonderful, polite, and hard working YOUNG girls working there almost everyday. They always greet you with a smile on their face and never give attitude. I came in late one night while they were counting tips and witnessed them splitting the tips with the owner. Absolutely disgusting and illegal. They make them split the tips with the young girls this is awful. read more

Long, long ago in a strip mall not too far away... their was a time before frozen yogurt. A time when Carvel Ice Cream ruled the land. An ice cream shop filled with cold treats to eat on a warm summer day. Fast forward twenty years and its still the same sh*t. Nothing has changed. The soft serve Vanilla Cone is the same as it always was. The cookie puss is the same. Grab a case of Flying Saucers on the way out. None of the Carvels are really that clean so make sure you wash up when ya get home as tons of kids pop in and out. I grew up eating at the Deer Park Ave. , Deer Park location but this one in the Merrick Mall Shopping Center is nearly identical. Its impossible to get a cone without glue on it here. It would be nice if they had cones available without the paper on it so I could enjoy the entire thing. They do have a nice selection of flavors, and the soft serve is more firm then down the block at Ralph's, but I will take the softer ice cream that melts quicker for a cone thats not covered in possibly harmful glue. read more

Stopped in last night as a special treat with the family-we don't do this often so it truly was a "treat" well for everyone in my family but me - they all ordered their cones and sundaes - I ordered the brownie carvelanche as well as my son. I was handed mine and it was iced milk - there was so little ice cream in it. They advertise this as a THICK SHAKE - BS. My son was handed his and he had to eat it with a spoon - at least he got what we paid for! We left with our ice cream and my shake went right into the garbage outside the front door. I had a craving for one of those delightful cherry dipped cones,,,so while i was heading home from work i swung by and picked up one. Every Carvel has that same weird smell the minute you walk in the door. Like sugar bleach or something. However i got my cone, i paid my 3.25 and i loved every damn calorie of it. Even though it was Wed and buy one get one free my fat ass didn't need the extra one so i just had a cone. Did the job even though Dilly bars are way better. read more
