Still in shock. I went to purchase an ice cream cake. The man behind the counter asked me if I wanted writing on it, I said yes. He took it in the back, removed the sticker price, and put on a new tag that changed the price to $20 more!! When I questioned him, he quickly gave me an attitude and told me he "couldn't undercharge customers." I told him I understood that, but the reason I was upset was because he changed the price tag after he put the writing on it, thinking I wouldn't notice. I told him I was very uncomfortable with what he did and he proceeded to be very rude to me and I quickly saw I was not going to get anywhere with him. I've never had such a negative experience like this but I definitely won't be going back. Not the same place it is was the only erver is often physically dirty. The desserts are made incorrectly and he will argue with you if you ask for the correct ingredients. I was so shocked when I went into this Carvel. I've been here many times and it's always been clean. First, I was hit by a very unusual odor, which I think was a cleaning product very overpowering. Then they seem to be out of the ice cream that I ordered, which was nothing unusual. So I settled for a black-and-white milkshake, which was absolutely awful. The boy behind the counter was wearing a dirty shirt, which one should not wear when dealing with food. If he was a mechanic, I could understand wearing a dirty shirt. When he gave me my milkshake, he never handed it to me. He just left it near himself on the counter, so I had to reach over to get my milkshake. The whole experience was very weird. I arrive and immediately my order is shut down. I ask for something else with hot fudge and no, it's not working. Then i proceed to say " can i have toppings" he responds "no" and hands me an ice cream that was not my order. I sit and eat there and the ice cream was terrible. The people behind me order they receive there order and get both jot fudge and toppings. Owner is very willing to accommodate your cake wants and needs. I didn't love the stock cakes and what was in the books, and he told me "whatever you want, I will do"... And that he did. I was going to a show in the neighborhood and stopped by here for some dessert. I was happy to see plenty of free parking. I tasted the Nutella soft serve and it was to die for! I got a small Nutella in a waffle bowl. Now I have a big appetite for ice cream and could eat a lot in one sitting. This portion was not stingy and I would call it a medium or large rather than a small. It was close to $5 with the waffle bowl but very much worth it. Went to visit this Carvel store today to get some ice cream and get out of the sun. As i approached the storefront it was the usual Carvel store front but at the side of the front door i noticed a bowl of water, for dogs i had to assume, it was nice to see that the store was so pet friendly. Entering the store i noticed staff hard at work making ice cream cakes and talking with customers ahead of me, the store was clean and neat, tables clear and shelves stocked. I ordered my cone, a Vanilla soft serve, no sprinkles on a cone, was served promptly and dismissed pleasantly. Overall it was a good experience with pleasant people on a hot day. I used to give this location 5 stars and a very high review. The new manager may have improved the interior, but replaced the staff that knew us, welcomed us and were a joy to see on our weekly trip with himself, another person or two (presumably related) who do not have much personality. On top of that, when presenting VALID coupons, they begrudgingly accept their own offers, have terrible customer service skills, and I've never seen smile - and the worst offender? The new owner/manager! Carvel needs to have better screening when it comes to allowing people to purchase their locations and run their franchises. This new management is going to kill what used to be a great business with poor attitude and rude behavior. This new management and staff is absolutely awful. Bring back the old girls! read more

Absolutely love it here! I don't know what that woman below is talking about regarding the new servers- she must not be good with people! They were so sweet to us and seemed to be genuinely kind people. I've also run into the manager a few times and he is so nice! The ice cream is great and I love the pumpkin soft serve. Couldn't give them a better rating. The shop is really nice inside, the staff is absolutely wonderful, and the ice cream is great! I also got a cake the other day and asked for a personalized drawing- they had no problem with it and it came out wonderful. Everyone loved it. We stopped by here for their delicious Nutella soft serve. it was awesome. The texture of it was very good and not icy. The drive to here was very nice, it's a cute little shop with sitting available. The person who served us was a very nice gentleman and pleasant to talk too. What a disappointment this place is. The staff is rude and thinks nothing of asking customers to leave in the middle of a sundae so they can close. This place is run by high school kids who have no idea what they are doing, and are just there with their friends trying to make a buck, not caring about the customer. Both soft-serve machines were broken, and they made the sloppiest cones I've ever seen. They didn't even use gloves, and didn't care if they touched the ice cream. New owners recently took over and it is hard to believe the service could be worse but it was. Who I believe was the manager or owner was looking at youtube with a young employee couldn't be bother to greet me and when she asked for my order her level of disgust in helping was very evident. I had to repeat the order three times as she was busy looking at things happening outside. I came in to place a cake order and get a snack for a little one. After paying for the snack she promptly walked away when I asked for cake information. I waited for her to come back for several minutes and no one returned. She was so rude it was hard to believe. Oh well she lost out on a very large cake order. To top it all off, when she gave me change for the snack (a cup of ice cream) she never gave me a spoon and they aren't readily available.
