The Carvers vibe is awesome. From the minute you walk in they treat you like royalty. I had made a reservation online (thank you Yelp) and when I arrived they had us seated within 3 minutes. Very impressive. The food was amazing. My KC Strip was cooked perfect and excellent taste. Their sourdough bread was light airy. Loved it. If only I could make it this good. Wow. The Au Gratin potatoes were to die for. Tasted like they had sour cream and a hint of mushroom in them. Scallops were juicy. Great appetizer. Service: Our server Dusty was great. He has a charm to him. He was funny and super helpful. Keep the glasses flowing and checked on us when needed. He said s very good at his job. Levi cleared the tables and suggested the New York Cheesecake. He was right, it was silky smooth and rich. Like I said, the staff here makes the experience. The service was not great at all. The hostess didn't greet us and was cold. The waiter was quick to remind me there is a 3 drink maximum when I ordered a cocktail with our dessert. For the amount of money, the service just doesn't match. The food was good though. read more

Haven't been to Carver's in 4 years so we figured it was time to visit! The restaurant looked the same, maybe a little more lit inside than previous. The menu hasn't changed which is nice, the filet is the only thing I ever get anyways! My group ordered the calamari as an appetizer and weren't too impressed. The calamari came in strips with drizzled aoli on a bed of lettuce. Looked much bigger than it was. I ordered my filet medium rare with Cesar salad, French fries, sauce bernaise, and sherry mushrooms. I completely forgot that the sauce sides are big enough for more than one person so I totally should have shared my sauce. I did think the bernaise seemed too buttery but the rest of my group seemed to like it! The French fries were HUGE strips of potatoes and honestly not amazing. The steak though was perfection. So tender, juicy, and flavorful without even needing the bernaise. I wasn't even hungry but I had to finish the steak it was so good! The mushrooms were also a decent portion and a really good addition to the steak. I probably wouldn't order the sauce or fries next time but I'll be back! read more

First time over the years of going there I was disappointed. In their defense it was a full house and I don't believe they have the staff to service that crowd. The Prime Rib was excellent. What was disapointing was the Agratin Potatoes were cold the last two times there and this time the Spinich Salad had shrunk to about half the size it used to be and really no dressing like it used to have. Steaks were delicious and service was on point. Enjoyed the Tournedos Oscars and Prime Rib. The creamy horseradish sauce was perfect. Salad/soup and a sided were included which was nice because so many steakhouses are now a la carte and the cost adds up quickly. I typically prefer local restaurants over chains but we gave Carvers a try after reading reviews and because it was nearby. Would definitely recommend it. Side note, a recent Yelp review states that the location is by "seedy" hotels. I wouldn't consider Courtyard, Holiday Inn Express, or Hampton Inn "seedy". read more

Visited for a business dinner meeting. My client got the Prime Rib and loved it. I should have gone with the Prime Rib, it looked fabulous. I went with the Ribs, because the server said the meat is fall off the bone and the dish is one of his favorites. I was served dry, hard, lucwarm ribs - just awful. The BBQ sauce served with it was extremely to sweet for my taste. Please see my pic, that is what I sent home in a box that my client took for his dogs. Maybe it was a one off, it happens. But to add insult to injury, their "from scratch" French Onion Soup is awful. It is not on the menu, special order..... Skip it. They took an onion, cut it up, poured some beef brother over it and placed in oven to melt the cheese. Like the ribs, it was lucwarm. The onions were not cooked and seriously, there was no flavor. What the heck? In the end, my client was happy. If it was not a dinner meeting, I would have sent everything back. Sorry for the bad review, you cannot always have a 5 star meal. One of the best steaks I've had from a restaurant! I ordered my steak (8 oz Filet Mignon) medium rare and it was perfect. The flavor was just incredible. I honestly think it's better than Fleming's and Ruth Chris. The meals come with a side too. ( the two competitors are a la carte, which makes it even more expensive) this place also has a section for "styles" meaning you can add awesome things to compliment your protein. It had been 20+ years since we had been to Carvers, so decided to go for our Anniversary. Made reservation, we were seated quickly which was great. Ordered drinks, appetizers and dinner. My dinner came out on a plate, but my wifes Filet Minion was in a to go container. We laughed about it, but WTH honestly that was bad. The table next to us ordered dessert, New York Cheesecake. Wow, we had to have that. It was huge, beautiful and they liked it. We ordered ours to go. Got the box with our $130 check, plus tip. My wife and I looked at the box and started laughing. She said, guess we should have got it to stay, we want the one they had. Ours was about half the size. Seriously half the size, and the sauce cups were in with the cheesecake. So the cup that god knows who and how many had touched, were sitting in against our cheesecake. Ughhhhh not okay. Not the best experience and we won't be running back anytime soon. read more

While the atmosphere lacked some of the traditional steakhouse things like white tablecloths and low lighting, the prompt service for beverages, warm bread and salads was very good. We both had wedge salads which were fresh, crisp but a little small. Husband was a little disappointed no Blue cheese dressing available, bit they did offer some crumbles with ranch. The highlight was our filet steaks -- cooked and seasoned perfectly. Scalloped potatoes were flavorful but I'd try a diff side option next time. To be honest the presentation and accompaniments seemed to lack a little finesse but it was in fact delicious. The three of us had a steak Oscar style, a filet, and the ribeye. Filet and Oscar style (another filet) were solid but the ribeye was really disappointing. Not very juicy, lack of good marbling. Side dishes were decent. Had the scalloped potatoes which were nice. It was our first time here and we went to celebrate my husbands Birthday. It's interior is like a dark Country Club meets Hunting Lodge. We got to sit in a quiet dark corner and they were practicing all of the Covid Rules to a T. The service was exceptional. We had at least four different people serving us. We started with the Brie smoked plate. I don't even love Brie but this was so mild. It was crusted with pecans and pomegranate. It was served with crispy crackers, apples and garlic. It was practically a meal on its own. Next came the soup and salad. My husband had Clam Chowder and he said it was the best he had ever had. I had a Romaine salad that had roasted red peppers hot onions and topped with Bacon. Again this could have been a meal. Then our dinners arrived served with warm French Bread. My husband had Prime Rib. It was huge and covered a giant plate. I had Coconut Shrimp. They were ok but were served with this oily hot sauce for dipping and that added to their taste. We both got the smashed Potatoes and they were delicious. It's a great place to go for a special night out. I thought the price was worth every cent and we will be finding another reason to visit soon. read more

Seems as if all my Yelp write-ups lately have been documenting return visits to restaurants that we (my wife and I) last patronized 5-10+ years ago! But why? Regardless, Carvers is one of those restaurants, and in this case, my wife and I broke the ice with Carver's last July to celebrate our 39th Anniversary...and we're glad we did. We both enjoyed our dinners at a nice relaxed pace, and we were well taken care of by Anderson, who was very knowledgeable and a real schmoozer to boot! I could swear he did stand-up comedy downtown somewhere, maybe...but I digress. Regardless, he was very entertaining. I enjoyed a 24 oz. rib-eye and my wife enjoyed her filet..and we both started out with some nice shrimp cocktails and adult beverages (vino for the Mrs. and two types of "Mules" for me (a Kentucky and Mexican Mule). Yum. Weird, but our 'anniversary cheese cake' dessert still cost is $4.00. Whaaaa...? The only 'downside' to the evening was that the restaurant lacks, well...visual style. Panache. Style. Appealing decore. Warmth. In fact, Carver's looked like it did 15-20 years ago. As my wife says, it still looks like the inside of a cardboard box. Bleh. Making the reservation was simple, they took great care to make our night memorable. One of our guests had some food allergies, they took great care of her and even made a custom meal and dessert. Carvers was our family favorite for the past 20 years. Tonight we celebrated my husband's birthday and my Grandson's birthday. It was a huge disappointment. Salads are now half the size they used to be. Price's have increased 30%. We had to ask for bread multiple times, it was dry on both ends. Prime rib had lots of gristle. My Son's filet was raw in the middle, he should have sent it back. Apparently they have a contract for larger groups, never heard of this with all the large groups we've had. The manger didn't want to help in anyway just wanted to make sure we knew she was right. Was not impressed with her attitude. We're going to have to find a new favorite steak place. read more
