After waiting more than 30 minutes, I asked for any updates for them to tell me the car was gone. I was given conflicting information about the vehicle, first a Nissan, then I was told my paperwork was for a Toyota, and finally I was given a Honda Civic without updated paperwork. When I asked the employee who had helped me, "Where is my car?" she replied "I don't know" with a lot of attitude. I ended up leaving close to 1 PM after arriving before my 11:30 appointment. This caused a major delay, ruined food I had ordered while waiting, and added unnecessary stress while I am already dealing with back pain from a recent car accident. The lack of communication, organization, and professionalism at this location was extremely frustrating and disappointing as no employee was offering any sort of explanation as to why my original rental car suddenly disappeared.

Both did come back with great deals that were much lower than the offer that I got with minimal effort at the local dealership. It was through a chance encounter on Instagram that I decided to try one last broker. @d_a_g_cars. I DM'd them and they called me right back and asked me questions that could qualify me for lease discounts that the other brokers didn't even think to ask. Within an hour after the call, they had located a car that had a higher MSRP than the cars that the previous brokers had found and got me a price that was $50 less per month. Needless to say, I jumped on that deal! The car was prepped and delivered to my house that day. I couldn't have been happier with this lease experience. He was honest--he didn't have a truck on-site yet but told me he was working on it and would keep me updated. The truck ended up arriving about an hour late, but honestly, I didn't even care. His communication was clear, and his energy made all the difference. I also asked if he knew any movers or someone who could help me get the truck to my storage unit. He casually gave me a few solid recommendations, and one of them worked out perfectly (I'll leave them a separate review). But here's the thing--this wasn't just a truck rental. I walked into that office thinking I was fine, just going through the motions of a move after a breakup. But something about that interaction... it hit me. I ended up opening up to Kurt about my year in LA, how I packed up my life to travel with my partner, and came back almost five months later--alone and heartbroken. Saying it out loud made everything feel real, and I started to cry. Kurt didn't flinch. He didn't have tissues, so he handed me a microfiber towel from a clean pack. I still have it. That small, kind gesture meant the world. He was present, kind, and just so human. We bonded over travel stories, and it reminded me that there are still good people out there who genuinely care. As for the rental itself: Budget ended up being more affordable than U-Haul for my one-way move from LA to Vegas. I also appreciated having three full days with the truck included in the price--U-Haul charges extra for that. Heads-up: if you don't refill the gas tank to the original level, they'll charge $10 per gallon, so be sure to top it off yourself. One hiccup: the check engine light was on. My dad, who's experienced with trucks, was concerned. Kurt explained it had to do with a stolen catalytic converter triggering the light and that the truck was still okay to drive. My dad said it struggled a bit going uphill, but we made it safely--and that's what matters. When we dropped off the truck in Vegas, Alvin at the return location was also super friendly and helpful. We showed him a photo of the fuel level from pickup (it wasn't quite full), and instead of being rigid, he worked with us and waived any issue. That kind of trust goes a long way. All in all, what could have been a stressful and emotional day ended up feeling light and supported. Kurt made a real difference, and I'm so grateful I crossed paths with him.

I went to the location specified on my contract and when I arrived there (it was an Avis/Budget office) I was informed that there was no car or reservation for me. I immediately contacted Elite Rent a Car, spoke to Janet and Violet. I was on the phone with them for 45-55 mns and I was told that they had mistakenly deleted my reservation and they were unable to process a new one. The Avis/budget agent waited until their closing time but Elite was unable to do the reservation. At this point I was stranded with my family, 6 of us. the Avis rep felt very bad and tried to help me and told me they could give me a car but they had to do a new reservation at full cost. Unable to apply any discounts. Also the car was almost 2 hours away. I had no choice so I took a taxi paid close to $100 and went to the location. I picked up the car around 11PM from 5 PM when my ordeal started. The new contract turned out to be $2300 more than my original contract I had stipulated with elite rent a car. I have been trying to talk to elite and Leo since June 30th. I've called around 30 times and sent numerous emails. They have never returned my calls or emails. I've spoken to Janet, Danny, Violet, Vivian, Lisa (very nasty) Ana, Emma and Sue. The words were always the same "so sorry sir, so sorry sir" we will investigate and call you back also we will make sure Leo calls you. Today is July 13th. No one has contacted me or provide an explanation as to what happened. I have called them everyday day (made at least 30 calls). I only received promises about someone getting back to me.
