MUST EAT!!! Located in the Marina area, we ended up here after getting a voucher from a timeshare presentation. I am SO GLAD we came. - Appetizer was the curled corn. AMAZING. The presentation alone was creative with corn split in quarters and curled. They then grill it just a smidge, and it's served atop a special sauce made of agave syrup, Serrano peppers, and chipotle ponzu (?). The things dreams are made of. - Tuna and shrimp ceviche that had fresh avocado, cucumbers, mango, tomatoes, and onions. They were served with seared chips and special decorative chips that looked like something from under the sea. Check the photo. - Mexican Molcajete de Tomas, which translates to Thomas' volcano. Served on a hot rock was shrimp, chicken, steak, ribs, and cheese piping hot. Bubbling over, ready to be devoured. The lava was a chipotle flavor, but not too spicy. Cactus is eaten here on a regular basis, and there was one dripping with cactus sap, which doesn't have a strong taste. There were a few peppers in there too. You have to see the video to understand how amazing this was. We were the only guest, as they don't open until 2:00pm, and we came soon after they opened. So we had everyone's undivided attention. They were so nice, and Hector made sure to let us know to include him in the review by name, so there it is. I cannot sing the praises of this restaurant enough. I felt like we were at a fancy restaurant with 5 star service, fancy presentation, but the prices were very reasonable, as our food was around $42 and drinks were around $20 for 2 daiquiris and bottled water. Good chance we'll return before we leave for round 2. read more

It came with delicious home made corn tortillas and 4 salsas. Chewy was my main man he took care of me with dinner and served me some very nice tequilas you can't get in the us. I also had Indio beer. Very good. I came to watch the fights. Multiple TVs for sports. UFC tonight so I had a good seat. Chewy was great, my steak was very nice. All around a great night! read more

This place exceeded my expectations! The service, first and foremost was 110%. Never did we need for anything, nor was the service annoying and overbearing. The food and drinks, fantastic! We had the curly corn - such a cool presentation and who doesn't love corn on the cobb?! we also had the tuna tartare, fantastic flavor and so fresh. To drink I had the spicy marg, my friend, the pomegranate marg, both drinks the flavor of the ingredients did the talking without being overly sweet or over bearing on the alcohol. I've been coming here for years. It's centrally located in downtown Cabo right by the Marina. There are many TVs to watch any sporting event you want. Prices are extremely reasonable considering how good the food is. Hands down the best Chicken Tortilla Soup in the world. It's a must try. It really is out of this world. Ask for Babyface or Erick to be your server. They are great and very attentive. It's a definite must while in Cabo if not for the sports go for the chicken tortilla soup. This was our first place that we stopped at after we got to Cabo. We actually came in because we were lost without any service and needed to use their WiFi. One of our waiters, Manny, helped us a lot. He spoke perfect English and was very kind. We had bought a SIM card from Oxxo next door but we could not get it to work. Manny and another waiter, Carlos, kept on trying until it finally worked!! So I would definitely say that the service is 5/5 from us! Manny then recommended their house made tortilla soup - the ingredients were all organic and it tasted amazing. The flavor was really earthy and the crunch of the tortilla with the soup was great. We also got the steak quesadilla and their fried ice cream. They even did a little show with the ice cream and set it on fire in front of us! Food also 5/5. To top it all off, they had a performer singing American songs. My boyfriend said that this performer sang better people from the bay area! Entertainment 5/5. When we ask for seating, they offered free drinks and deep fried ice cream with a phrase of an entree. However, when we asked the check, they told us that we could get the freebies with a cash vendor from our hotel. We are unhappy that we have to pay for the freebies they offered. We ordered the catch of the day, which was sea bass, and the shrimps. If you order them together, you get a good discount. The shrimps were good and tasty, but the sea bass is slightly too salty and over cooked. I love my waiter making the deep fried ice cream in front of us. The guitarist in the house plays good music too. Last, they use a very bad exchange rate. The market exchange rate is 14.5+ pesos per USD, but their exchange rate is 12 pesos, which is very unreasonable compared to the market. Overall, I give 2 stars to the food, and one extra star for the good live music, however, we need to take the extra star back because of bad exchangerate and the charges of "free" drinks and ice cream. read more

Desperado, why don't you come to your senses? September 2016, a category 2 Hurricane ( Newton) hits Cabo, and the next day everyone in town is closed, but not Desperado's. Sammy, Albert and the gang at Desperado's stayed open serving cold beers, Tequilla shots, tacos and quesadillas, when the rest of Cabo was closed. We liked them so much, we went back after everything was back to normal in town. This is a cool bar that has great Margaritas and equally great Mexican Food! The Nachos are huge and tasty, the beer is cold and reasonably priced, and the service is fantastic. I think what I like most is the integrity and friendliness of the staff. Having traveled to Cabo so many times, I grow tired of the bars and restaurants that treat me like a dumb gringo. I see it every time, but Desperado's is different, they area straight up honest, and the bill is always spot on. I reward that honesty with bigger tips (propina). Desperado's is way fun, the music is great, the service is great, and it fits in Cabo awesome. During our two visits, it was moderately busy with a pretty diverse group drinking and eating there. If your looking for Jello Shots and cosmopolitans, better chose a different bar. This place is authentic Mexican Baja style. I feel like if the walls could talk..... I felt very much at home here, and enjoyed the service and respect I was given by the staff. I will definitely hit this place next time in Cabo! read more
