The server (Isabel) left a puddle of Clorox bleach in the women's restroom.

The server (Isabel) left a puddle of Clorox bleach in the women's restroom. As a result of this, the bottom of my pants got stained & completely ruined with Clorox bleach. I was on a special date night with my love. This ruined the whole night. I politely shared to the server (Isabel) what had happened & advised her to be more careful & courteous. The server looked at me with a face with 0 empathy & her body language said I DO NOT CARE YOUR PANTS GOT STAINED WITH BLEACH. Server just replied, "ok" & did not apologize nor tried to make the situation better nor tried to solve the problem. I do not know what irritated me more, her expression of ZERO EMPATHY & BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE or my new pants getting stained with Clorox. This experience left a very bad impression, and I hope management takes situations like this more seriously moving forward.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]With all the tv's and music playing, the sound-dampening material in this place is fantastic so that people can talk with one another.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Shrimp fajitas delicious. Ice cold on-tap beer, wonderful! Camarones al Mojo de Ajo (shrimp in garlic with rice and beans) absolutely delicious! Chips and salsa were delicious also at the start of the meal... ate them all! Think I found my favorite Palm Desert Mexican restaurant! Yeah! Our waitress and other wait staff were excellent.

We went here this evening after attempting to make a take out order at another place and was denied. We ended up ordering take out and enjoyed some drinks while waiting. The staff was super friendly and the prices were good. We will be back.

Carnitas mucho burrito

Casa Blanca is a chain restaurant here in the valley, I've been to 3 of the 4. Consistently good Mexican food and great margaritas across their locations. Popped in for lunch, I had the Carnitas Mucho burrito and hubby tried the shredded beef tamale, both dishes were delicious. We also hade the queso fundido, gooey, yummy! Great happy hour prices on the margarita.

3 item combo

We were searching for Mexican restaurants in the area as that's what we were craving, but most were too expensive for full dine in service, but we found this place and it was decent for the price. You have to ask for chips and salsa, and the first order is gratis; however, we asked for a 2nd order and weren't charged. I ordered the three item combo (your choice) with a beef tamale, ground beef hard taco, and chile relleno. The relleno was a lil too doughy for my tastes, and the taco was the best IMO. My friend ordered ordered the tampequena plate with cheese enchiladas (both plates came with rice and beans) & he enjoyed it. Service was a bit slow for being that it wasn't busy (three tables and 1 solo at the bar). Ambience is cute and parking was plentiful (not right up front). They have happy hour specials as well during the week.

Happy Cinco De Mayo ! It's delicious. Shredded beef taco, chili relleno, chicken enchilada. Double rice no beans :o) yum.

Absolutely love this place. My go to dishes *cheese enchiladas & chile relleno* from here are delicious. The only thing that sometimes happens is they put to much cheese in the enchiladas. That's easily rectifiable. I just tell them easy cheese. Their salsa is extremely good. I stop by sometimes just to buy the large chips and salsa to take home. I haven't tried their margaritas as of yet. I will though . [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere is nice and clean. Nice Mexican music playing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The waiters and waitresses are always very nice and friendly. This place has been my go to place for Mexican food lately. Hmmm...I must really dig this place. *do people even say dig anymore?*

5 star Bloody Mary

We stopped in for a quick drink while we were in a waiting list for another place. The bartender was such a nice guy and made the most amazing Bloody Mary Definitely will be back!! Thanks for starting our day in such a yummy way!

$5.50 margaritas on Tuesday

Service needs to improve here, especially when the restaurant is empty & there are at least 3 servers on the clock. We needed a spoon for the salsa & more napkins but nobody returned after bringing the food out. $5.50 margaritas on Tuesday were really good. My chicken tacos were really good as were the beans & rice. My husband said his torta was tasty. The chiles gueritos were tasty as well. I'd return for the food & drinks in hopes that service improves. Staff was eating in the kitchen instead of checking on the few tables that were in the restaurant. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance is nice & food is good but service definitely needs help![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

After a little bit of research, I discovered this beautiful gem, and I was able to make reservations by calling the restaurant directly. Once we arrived, we were greeted and seated right away. Our waiter Thomas was so incredibly sweet and attentive. We decided to share a crabcake appetizer along with octopus and scallops as our main dish. I've tried mini grilled octopuses before in Southern California and never have. I had one so tender as this one. The octopus was huge and so flavorful. Most importantly it was so tender and not chewy at all. Everything we ordered was fantastic and cooked to perfection.

Another great restaurant find in the Coachella Valley, this time in Palm Desert. We discovered…read moreOceana Restaurant on the Greater Palm Springs Restaurant Week website -- the Pulpo Chicharrones caught our eye -- so we decided to check it out. Thank goodness we did. Our group started out with the above mentioned Pulpo Chicharrones. Crispy Octopus bites served with fresh pico de gallo, guacamole, and flour tortilla chips. The octopus had a charred crispy exterior that gave way to a buttery-tender interior. None of the rubbery texture that so often turns people off. For entrees, we selected the Whole Fried Huachinango (Red Snapper), 7 Oceanas (think "Spanish Chioppino"), and Pan Seared Halibut which was the special of the day. The halibut special featured a very generous pan seared filet on a bed of white wine risotto with a sesame seed veloute and asparagus. The 7 Oceanas consisted of perfectly cooked octopus, white fish, clams, mussels, shrimp, salmon, and scallop in a rich broth with tomato, onion, garlic, smoked paprika, oregano, and guajillo peppers. Served with housemade telera bread sticks to sop up the amazing broth. The snapper was deep fried to perfection leaving the skin super crispy and fleah moist and flaky. Drizzled with an adobo sauce and served with grilled sliced lemons, chayote squash and baby potatoes. Our only complaint was the snapper was not true red snapper as advertised, but rather porgy (we think). Red snapper is one of the most substituted fish and very few people in the world could tell them apart. My partner Ernie is a connoisseur, and he can. The dish was still excellent, we just wish it wasn't advertised as Huachinango. This hidden gem delivered fresh seafood, tasty cocktails with a nod to tequila and mezcal drinks crafted by owner Marco Castellanos, and friendly attentive service from Gina.

We opted to dine alfresco where we were able to watch the Dodger game since there are several flat screens mounted for sporting events. Casual setting. You walk up and order, pay, then you can seat yourself and your food is brought out to you. The cashier was not very friendly, but I did notice she left shortly after, so I guess it was the end of her shift. The man who brought out the food and checked on us was very attentive asking if we needing anything else several times. Two of us ordered off the "Early Bird Special's", which are served daily from 3 PM to 5:30 PM. We both ordered the 3 piece fish & chips. They were very good. Three large pieces of fish and potato wedges, everything fresh, also instead of coleslaw we were able substitute for a $1 more a small Cesar side salad. The dressing was good, very tasty. My daughter ordered off the regular menu, she got the Hawaiian Combo. This has salmon, mahi-mahi and grilled shrimp, teriyaki sauce and grilled pineapple, with sweet potato fries and a Cesar's salad, as her sides. She said everything was very good, except the shrimp was a little overcooked. We also ordered a side of cheese garlic bread, which was fresh and tasty, did not disappoint! We have been to the Palm Springs location as well, a few years back and we remember that location also having good food and we were closer to this location so we decided to give it a try. Definitely worth it and we will be back again to try something new on the large menu!

Our server was absolutely busting his butt trying to cover the entire dining room. He told us someone had called out, and it showed. He was taking orders, tending bar, running food, and doing everything he could to keep up. At one point, I even saw the cook dropping off food. We waited over an hour for a very simple breakfast. To make matters worse, their coffee machine wasn't working during brunch, which is kind of a wild miss. I ended up going to the bakery next door just to get coffee. The whole time, there was no manager in sight helping the staff or addressing the situation. I can only hope they were out trying to buy a coffee machine at Target. The bigger issue is that this doesn't feel like a one-off. I've dined here three times in the last two years, and every time I come in expecting it to be slow because staffing and service seem to be an ongoing problem. On a prior visit dining in the evening we were sat upstairs in what appeared to be in cheap event furniture they had rented last minute because they were over sold for the night. At least that is what our server shared and also noted staffing is an issue because the manager is trying to save money. Management really needs to get a handle on that, because the staff that do show up are clearly trying. A couple of notes on the space too: the oversized chairs in the dining room feel unnecessary for the size of the tables, and the tacky soundproof panels do nothing for the aesthetic. The panel nearest our table even looked like it had food splatter on it, which didn't exactly elevate the brunch vibe. Overall, Shorebird has strong food and a nice setting, but the management and operational issues keep dragging the experience down.
