Casa Blanca runs four restaurants in the Coachella Valley. I've visited the Palm Springs spot once and the Palm Desert location twice, and I can say the cooking is consistently reliable across the brand. This time, I ordered the carne asada encebollada. In case you're wondering, "encebollada" means "cooked with onions". The plate came with carne asada, sautéed onions, beans, and rice. I don't think it was meant to be a salad, but it did have lettuce and tomato. This might be the best dinner plate I've ever had here. There were nine members in our dinner group. I didn't keep track of what everyone ordered, but each person was happy with their meal. We absolutely loved our visit to the Casa Blanca restaurant! My fiance has been having a craving for ceviche and this place offers what I could personally say some of the best tostadas de ceviche that we've tried in the valley! The server (Isabel) left a puddle of Clorox bleach in the women's restroom. As a result of this, the bottom of my pants got stained & completely ruined with Clorox bleach. I was on a special date night with my love. This ruined the whole night. I politely shared to the server (Isabel) what had happened & advised her to be more careful & courteous. The server looked at me with a face with 0 empathy & her body language said I DO NOT CARE YOUR PANTS GOT STAINED WITH BLEACH. Server just replied, "ok" & did not apologize nor tried to make the situation better nor tried to solve the problem. I do not know what irritated me more, her expression of ZERO EMPATHY & BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE or my new pants getting stained with Clorox. This experience left a very bad impression, and I hope management takes situations like this more seriously moving forward. read more

With all the tv's and music playing, the sound-dampening material in this place is fantastic so that people can talk with one another. Shrimp fajitas delicious. Ice cold on-tap beer, wonderful! We were searching for Mexican restaurants in the area as that's what we were craving, but most were too expensive for full dine in service, but we found this place and it was decent for the price. You have to ask for chips and salsa, and the first order is gratis; however, we asked for a 2nd order and weren't charged. I ordered the three item combo (your choice) with a beef tamale, ground beef hard taco, and chile relleno. The relleno was a lil too doughy for my tastes, and the taco was the best IMO. My friend ordered ordered the tampequena plate with cheese enchiladas (both plates came with rice and beans) & he enjoyed it. Service was a bit slow for being that it wasn't busy (three tables and 1 solo at the bar). Ambience is cute and parking was plentiful (not right up front). The service was very good. Seated promptly and brought chips, salsa and water while I waited for my guest to arrive. The lunch specials menu is decent, and the two all pastor tacos plate with beans and rice was the perfect choice. The tacos were plump with meat, a sprinkling of onion and cilantro and some salsa. The beans were very good, as was the rice. The server checked on us more than once and offered go cups refilled with iced tea, which we gladly accepted. The place filled up, or at least as "filled up" as could be expected considering the desert is in low season, as it seems a popular lunch spot. Absolutely love this place. My go to dishes *cheese enchiladas & chile relleno* from here are delicious. The only thing that sometimes happens is they put to much cheese in the enchiladas. That's easily rectifiable. I just tell them easy cheese. Their salsa is extremely good. I stop by sometimes just to buy the large chips and salsa to take home. I haven't tried their margaritas as of yet. I will though . The atmosphere is nice and clean. Nice Mexican music playing. The waiters and waitresses are always very nice and friendly. Today, we went to Casa Blanca in Palm Desert. It used to be to a favorite. Not any more. I ordered a tostada. The tortilla was a pre-fried tostada one buys in the package!. It tasted like the pre-made El Pasó Tostadas. Terrible! Not to mention the beans and rice that came with it were cold! The cheese on the beans was melted. Only because it had been under the heating lights! I was very disappointed with the food. My friend ordered a carne asada soft taco. Meat was so grisly she was unable to eat it. Did we tell our server? No! She never came back until it was time to present us with the bill.At that time I did tell her that we were not satisfied with the food. Told her why. She said nothing. I am a regular here and came in for drinks with some friends. I'm not sure what has happened, but I sure hope they fix it. We came with a group of 4. We ordered a total of 7 margaritas. One was sent back not tasting at all like tamarindo, the skinny's tasted like soda water, there not a hint of tequila taste in any of them. The waitress brought out more agave, a shot of tequila, nothing could save them. We needed a spoon for the salsa & more napkins but nobody returned after bringing the food out. $5.50 margaritas on Tuesday were really good. My chicken tacos were really good as were the beans & rice. My husband said his torta was tasty. The chiles gueritos were tasty as well. I'd return for the food & drinks in hopes that service improves. Staff was eating in the kitchen instead of checking on the few tables that were in the restaurant. The food here is bland, basic but fine. What really sets apart the Palm Desert Casa Blanca is their horrible customer service. If you have a problem with your food or order, they will not help you, smirk and roll their eyes at each other in front of you, then speak in Spanish making fun of you assuming (incorrectly) that you don't speak Spanish too. There's a female manager who is especially awful. It shows in the trickle down of staff--no one who works here really cares, there is no training on service. The vibes are off. Oh, and don't order takeout or delivery through their website, you'll be charged, never receive your food, and then be subjected to their abuse. Service was alright ...but the food is very tasty and I'm a regular repeat customer however...I can't believe they charge for an additional chips and salsa which is ridiculous after receiving a half basket of chips to begin with and their prices are already at a standard high. Maybe they need to get in check with other Mexican restaurants and see that they're not charging for additional lousy Half basket of Chips and a spoonful of salsa. I called in a kids meal for take out. One enchilada and it was supposed to come with rice and beans. It was just under $11, plus tip. I was handed the bag and trusted it was all there and correct. I got home and it was just the enchilada. No rice or beans. I called them and she put me on hold and went to speak with the cook. She then came back and said she was sorry and did I want to come back. Did I have a choice? I just paid over $10 for one cheese enchilada! I worked all day and was tired but I went. They had it ready for me when I got there and they did apologize. But honestly, it's annoying that no one checked it before giving it to me! I worked in a restaurant for almost 10 years. We always checked to make sure the food was correct when we did take out orders. And when I picked it up, it wasn't even busy! Maybe 3 tables and a few people at the bar? I had one kids meal and they gave me half of it! I understand that mistakes happen, but they need to retrain their cook and also double check the order is correct. They didn't offer me anything for the inconvenience. Had they done so, I wouldn't have shared my experience. By the time I got home the second time the enchilada was cold and hard! So make sure you check your orders before you leave and save yourself the trouble of having to come back. read more

So this is a good "nitch" Mexican restaurant. I would go for a quick Mex food fix, or on an off time in the outdoor patio. Their margaritas are very tasty and if you go at happy hour they are the cheapest ones you will find. I always judge a Mexican place by their hot sauce and the hot sauce here is really good. You can ask for a more spicy variety but both are excellent. Now, I am just stuck on the Asada tacos, with a side of beans...very tasty and satisfying. Some of the more complex things are questionable however. For example, I would pass on the " chilly relleano here...just so so. But a burrito "to go", great choice. Good service...out side or in side...nice waitresses... They have an extensive sea food menu here too, but I have decided for this place to stick to a few simple alternative...oh the nachos are good too. read more

Had a great meal when first arrived in Palm Dessert and this was open until 10:00pm on a Sunday night! Had a chile verde burrito which was very tasty but the free tortilla chips and salsa was really the best we have ever had and I don't think it was because we were hungry! Been coming with my partner a few times here and there and I would say. It was one the saddest and disappointing visits we had. We arrive 2 hours before closing, which we know its not a lot of time but still didnt feel to late. The staff was super dismissed and seem more focused on closing down and continuing their conversation than focusing on the patrons dining, and we where the only other table. ( I understand that closing down is needed and trust me, I would do the same, except ignore the patrons dinning). I order the Bistec a la ranchera and my partner order the Chiles gueritos stuffed with Shrimp. Sad to say the Shrimp was not cleaned at all! If you shrimp you know exactly what I'm talking about. I had to flag down a staff member and tell them if they could bring us a menu because the shrimp was not cleaned properly to which the staff responded with: " You don't need to clean shrimp, thats how it is". I was surprised of how dismissive they were towards us and our concerns and I didnt argue or anything, We simply asked for it to be sent back and to bring the menu, but at that point our appetite was gone, and we simply asked for the check and left. 4 stars only because the decor, service and food in general is Meh....But....the fried Tilapia, OMG! It stands alone as the most amazing dish ever. And, it comes with all the sides on a separate dish including, salad, rice, beans and guac. Amazing tortillas in a warmer are included. The fish is crisp on the outside and so tender on the inside and the best part about it is the price. So reasonable! Disappointing Experience Despite Years of Loyalty I've been a loyal customer of the Casa Blanca restaurant chain for many years, but unfortunately, my recent visit to this location was so disappointing that I walked out before even ordering. When I arrived, the dining room was nearly empty -- over 20 open tables -- with just one couple seated. The server greeted me by saying, "Follow me," and led me to a table placed directly next to that couple. Without asking if the table was okay, she dropped a menu and walked away. I didn't feel comfortable sitting right next to the only other diners in the entire restaurant, both out of respect for their privacy and my own comfort. I moved two tables over -- still in a completely empty section -- and when the server returned, she told me I had to move back next to the couple because that table was "reserved for larger parties." That excuse felt unnecessary and inflexible, especially since the restaurant was virtually empty and there was no indication that a large group was coming in. It was frustrating and felt like a lack of basic customer service and courtesy. I've never had a reason to leave a Casa Blanca before, but this experience left a really bad impression. I truly hope management invests in customer service training for their staff. Guests should feel welcomed and comfortable, not forced into awkward seating arrangements in an otherwise empty dining room. read more

Excited to dine at this place. Food is great. Service isn't. Tonight we had Isabelle. She was rude and not very nice. She acted like we were wasting her time. My father is handicap and we needed to be at a table, not a booth. The help was very annoyed and spoke about us in Spanish to eachother not knowing my mother speaks and understand Spanish.
