    Outdoor patio with live music

Out of all the restaurants we tried during our weekend in Palm Desert...including several Restaurant Week spots this was hands down the best meal we had! The food was absolutely incredible: authentic Mexican cuisine made with care and packed with flavor. The live music created a wonderful atmosphere, and the overall ambience made for a memorable dining experience. I ordered the cheese enchiladas with rice and beans, and my husband had the chile verde plate with rice and beans. We also enjoyed a house margarita, which paired perfectly with the meal. The portions were generous, the prices were very reasonable, and every bite was delicious. From the food to the service to the atmosphere, everything exceeded our expectations. We're already looking forward to our next visit and highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for authentic Mexican food in Palm Desert!

YELP SHORT ANSWER: Yes, really worth a visit anytime, but great off season as it is just not as crowded. LOCATION: Right on the 111, easy to find parking in the front or rear. FACILITY: very nice traditional look, not fancy but a giant misted outdoor space is a great option. Music on weekends. MENU: What you'd expect, great options. FOOD PREP: Excellent, always great to look at and better to eat. FOOD QUALITY: To me the best sit down Mexican food in the valley. Single chicken taco combo haunts me, yes it is that good. LIBATIONS: yes, there is a lot of fun to be had here, Uber it! WAITSTAFF: Consistent staff all working together and providing great service, always. OVERALL VALUE: Pretty good, what you should expect to pay for good food near El Paseo. TIP: Get there early off season and enjoy outdoors on days that are tolerable, of which are many. Eating in the back section of the bars is also very nice.

Came from out of town and it got good reviews so we wanted to give it a try. The salsa, guacamole and margaritas were sooooo good and so was the service but the food wasn't as good as we expected it to be. I would come back for the happy hour though as they definitely know how to make a drink!!

The food was fresh and very tasty. I had the chicken suizas enchiladas plate along with a fish taco and a large cadillac margarita. They supplied a basket of tortilla chips and a nice chunky salsa which is not spicy. That Cadillac margarita was STRONG...like I like it!! You won't be disappointed. The service was fast and friendly and it was a fun and festive atmosphere. There was a live band playing a variety of Top 40 music and people were dancing. There was also a bar inside with plenty of seating. The drinks were strong and the food was hot!! The restaurant itself had lots of inside and outdoor seating. I would recommend this place.

One of our favorite Mexican spots! We live in Phoenix and have tried tons of Mexican restaurants but this is the best hands down. The carnitas plate and chicken enchiladas suizas are our go-tos and never let us down! The live bands are always good and fun as well. Give it a try when in Palm Desert area, you won't be disappointed!!

Ask the Community - Casuelas Café

How loud is it on a Friday night? I have a few members of my party have hearing issues and having conversations might be hard even if for a birthday dinner

There is normally a live band so it can get loud. You can request a private dining room, if what you're looking for is a quiet space

Do I need to make a reservation for this Thursday or can we walk in?

Usely if you walk it you will be fine but sometimes it's better to make a reservation

Are pets allowed on the patio?

Last time I was there a few months ago yes there were a couple dogs on outside patio. Generally in california as long as it's outdoor dining pets are allowed. I have never seen any outdoor dining where pets were not allowed. I would call them…

    Do you have Taco Tuesday?

    NO TACO TUESDAY

    Do you take reservations?

    Yes!

    When will they re open?

    Open now!!

SHORT ANSWER: Yes in many ways…read more LOCATION: on the corner next to FARM, so a fall back if you do not have FARM reservations and hate disappointment of being turned away. FACILITY: Small, limited seating indoors with very nice, fun, outdoor seating areas. Love this place. MENU: Simple, easy to understand, great photos online if you have any questions. FOOD PREP: Very well done, like professional in just how it looks. FOOD QUALITY: Professional in how it also tastes... Watermelon Gazpacho was perfect with drinks prior to main. LIBATIONS: drinks and bartender were excellent, fun, and the photo print was very cool. WAITSTAFF: just so nice, and fun making the experience all that much better. We have been enjoying The Plaza Theater so spending a little more time in Palm Springs and this will be one of our favorites places to relax prior to an event. OVERALL VALUE: Good, but it is Palm Springs, outdoors, great locations, classy.. no, not inexpensive but well worth it. TIP: I'd say be nice, be patient, and you will get a table. Don't be an angry rude touron, we don't need that vibe and we see some of that in PS.. You can try for reservations, not sure if they take off season.

We found this place looking for a happy hour to take out friend too that was coming into town. From…read morethe menu, it looked and sounded great. Wine bar doesn't open till 5 which was when happy hour started. For the first hour, they had wine, well drinks and draft beer. A few small plates also offered. It's a wine and tapas bar. It's along El Paseo before you hit the main shopping area, depending on which way you come. Entrance has a nice wall created by ficus trees and mister spraying to keep you cool. There's a decent patio with a good amount of seating. Inside is where the party is. The place is set with two seating area. Right when you walk in is the bar. A good amount of hi top seating and tables. Hi top seating that are along the window were actually very uncomfortable. Padded seats were so narrow that seating was so uncomfortable but oh well. There's the other room seating area which houses all the wine on shelves. I believe it's also a wine store but that sectioned was closed for a private event. We just wanted a drink before dinner so no food was had. From the looks of the dishes that were coming out, they looked really nice. Tapas style dishes made for sharing. With happy hour, there was a couple dishes that was included. Also they offered a deal with a charcuterie board and a bottle included. We just went with a glass of their house red and white. And an order of spicy margaritas. It's a full bar so that was nice. Margaritas were great and house wine was decent. The service was great with the bartender who was a doll and very sweet. Made drinks and still had time to come check out on people. It was still early but it did pick up for happy hour which is from 5-6 right when they open. The place was quite nice and well decorated. Beautiful wine bar that's great for mingling with friends over food drinks and tapas. Will definitely be back for some food.
