I am visiting Palm Springs and wanted to get some Mexican food, Casa Mendoza did not disappoint! The restaurant is located in a very nice area with lots of shops and restaurants. Parking was fairly easy. The atmosphere is great, a lot of people and very nice servers. They greet you with some chips and salsa, very delicious! The food was a 10/10, lots of options and good quality food. The fajitas were amazing I just wish they would give us more tortillas. The beans, rice and guacamole were really good! I definitely recommend going, our server told us that they have mariachi on Sunday nights! read more

First time customer. We had the carnitas and the 3 plate combo; chile relleno, cheese enchilada and beef taco. All were okay, not great. Chile relleno had far too much egg batter, taco was a little bland. The carnitas were a little dry, even on the inside. They had mariachi's, which were very good. Service was a bit slow, had to ask twice to refill our waters. Where we sat, in front of the mariachis it was very loud, so be careful of you want to carry on a conversation with your table mates. I had the chicken tacos. Wow. Tons of shredded chicken in those tacos. They looked small, but they were quite filling and very tasty. Yum. Their rice is very good. The staff....incredible. Very nice. We enjoyed Valentines Dinner at Casa Mendoza this year. It was not too crowded around 7:30, they had live mariachi and seating was available in the dining room, and bar areas. We split the tostada salad and mini beef chimichangas . The chicken tostada salad was delicious, with fresh and flavorful chicken breast over shredded lettuce, beans, cheese sour cream and guacamole. The mini chimichangas were amazing!! I highly recommend trying them, I loved the flavor and addition of chopped sautéd chile peppers. We love stopping into this location when we find ourselves in Palm Dessert. read more

Found this gem of a Mexican restaurant while visiting Palm desert for a wedding. It's so authentic & the staff was so great. William the bartender who took care of us was so nice & welcoming. we were so impressed with his michelada knowledge. This restaurant is also so beautiful inside. He told me they were known for there asada and I'm so glad I listened. My fiance got menudo, a crunchy taco and enchiladas. All were delicious & cured our wedding hangover lol. I came in with a friend on a Sunday around 1p. We got seated right away. There weren't many options for a vegetarian, but I got the cheese nachos. I felt the cheese was a bit overdone and could have used a tad more toppings to cheese ratio. The wait staff was nice and we didn't feel too rushed. Shoutout to Angelina and Manny (the bartender) -- absolute rockstars! For a while, it was just the two of them hustling to serve 40+ people. My husband and I were seriously about to grab an apron and jump in because they were everywhere at once--cleaning tables, seating customers, taking orders, serving food--you name it, they were doing it. And can we talk about Chef Louise? If you're into garlic (like really into garlic), Destiny's ribeye will make you very, very happy. All in all, amazing teamwork and great food. I am new to the area and a Mexican food lover. I moved here from south Orange County where we didn't have good restaurants. I was used to just getting mediocre food. My sister and I went to Casa Mendoza in Palm Desert on a visit back in February and we were very impressed with the salsa and the fajitas that we had. When I moved here a few weeks ago, I decided to go back to Casa Mendoza for some fajitas again and it was wonderful. They gave a huge portion and lots of great vegetables. Service: 5 star Mireya was our waitress. 5 star service from the moment we sat down to the moment we left the restaurant. She is very knowledgeable about the menu, very kind, and very attentive. Carnitas Plate: 4 stars! A generous portion of well-seasoned pork carnitas served alongside a bed of rice, refried beans and I chose corn tortillas. The dish comes with a side of pico de gallo and guacamole. The carnitas were good, but I have a feeling the dish to order here is either the fajitas or the seafood. Just what you envision Micheladas and Margaritas should look like and taste. They have a full bar. The restaurant is very roomy and super clean. She made my nephew feel oh so special singing him a variation of happy graduation (vs birthday) song with the sombrero on his head. My sister and I stopped by to have Easter lunch and the food was very unpleasant very flavorless. We made it aware to the server if she could remove it from the bill concidering it only ate one chile and it was very distasteful she expressed " let me see what the chef wants to do" she comes back and dropped the bill off with no explanation and when we make it her aware of her not removing the food that we did not eat because it wasn't food she said " the chef said there's nothing he can do since the chiles are freshly made" that's when I said what does that have to do with it if it was fresh or not they were not very good can I speak to the supervisor " she replied with I'll call the chef that's when I said no I want the supervisor not the chef she said the chef is the supervisor. Ate at the bar and the only downside was that the bartender was so engrossed in conversation with his friends (I was the only patron other than them) that it took and inordinately long time both for him to take my order and to bring the check. We are really enjoying having another Casa Mendoza closer to home. This is a big restaurant compared to the La Quinta one. Outdoor patio is fantastic right now. Nice ambiance , music is a bit too loud for me. Same friendly staff Food is always good I get the same thing every time . Two carne asada tacos no beans and rice. Keep up the good work! Only suggestion look into gluten free alternatives. Many people are celiac and gluten intolerant. Many Mexican restaurants are replacing thicker with gluten free options. I would love to try your enchiladas but I am always told they are not gluten free. read more
