The rest of it: drink menu means nothing. Ask the server what they actually have. The salsa - yuck. The queso - also yuck. We doctored it up with salsa, hot sauce, salt, pepper, etc. that made it edible. Had to ask for water and napkins. Had to get our own straws. Four different people waited on us from start to finish. Never thought I would have to write a 1 star review like this. I had Ordered the enchiladas. Comes with (4) 1 beef, 1 chicken, 1 cheese, and 1 bean. I asked if they could change the bean one to cheese, so I had 2 cheese. After a couple of bites I started not to feel good. (I am DEATHLY allergic to peanuts). After not feeling good I went to the hostess at the front door and looked at the menu a second time to make sure enchiladas had no peanuts. I asked the young lady is there any peanut and what the enchilada sauce is because I'm deathly allergic and the bites I ate made me feel really uneasy. She looked at me and told me just not to order that one or get green sauce because she is unsure (after I told her I already ate some). I asked her to find out. She did and came back to me and told me they didn't have enchilada sauce and they put Mole Sauce instead and she said that it DOES have peanut. KEEP IN MIND I TOLD HER I WAS NOT FEELING WELL FROM THE FOOD. NO one did anything after that. My brothers, who were with me, asked for the check immediately because they said they had to take me to the emergency room. Still no urgency to get the check. Brother had to go up and pay. After paying and trying to leave. They stopped us and told us that we have to wait because they gave us the wrong receipt we paid for. I HAD TO GO TO THE HOSPITAL AND THAT WAS MORE IMPORTANT.. Food is just ok. Salsa is average. The women's bathroom is nasty. I always have to wonder if they let the bathrooms go, what also must they let go in the kitchen? The bathroom had gnats, the floor was sticky, the rail behind the toilet was streaked with what looked like splashed diarrhea, there were no paper towels and no soap. So this time I went in and ate, I had the street tacos they was pretty good. The chips and salsa was run of the mill. The service was horrible, had to ask a different server for chips and salsa, never got a refill. They brought 3 of the 4 dishes out so our food got cold as we waited in the 4th persons food. The food is not good. I have tried it several times because there isn't a lot in town, but disappointed again. I came at lunch and ordered the burrito supreme lunch special, and my friend had the 3 street tacos. Our food came within 5 minutes, which some might appreciate, but I have come to recognize as pre-prepared food that is slapped together and re-heated, and I wasn't wrong. My friends steak tacos had absolutely no seasoning on the steak at all, the steak was chopped into tiny little bits and it was completely dry, so basically it was prepared way ahead of time and just reheated for our order, which completely dried it out, and then they put in the tacos. My burrito was ground beef, also no flavor in the meat at all. It was exactly like the ground beef from Taco Bell, just mushy and horrible. It had a canned dog food texture, I couldn't finish it. The menu said it would come with salsa on top, but instead it came with a red enchilada sauce that was not good. Like it came from a can. The rice was okay. The chips were also okay, but the salsa is almost flavorless. It's inexpensive, and they give big sloppy portions of this food, so I think that's why people come here. I didn't order a margarita today but in the past I have, and at first I was surprised because it was really big, but after one sip I could tell there was maybe one small shot of tequila in there, honestly I couldn't even taste the tequila, so basically your serving me a large bowl of margarita mix. So I asked the waiter if I could buy an additional shot for my margarita and the look he gave me!! As if I was being rude! I wasn't asking for a free one for goodness sakes. Your charging me for a margarita with maybe, and I do mean maybe, one small shot of tequila and your gonna give me that look? Today my server was polite, but the cashier barely acknowledged us and this is par for course every time I have been here, the cashiers are never friendly, rarely meeting your eyes and never smiling, and sometimes the servers are also not friendly. As if they are just barely tolerating you as a customer. So at this point I won't be back. I'd rather risk the runs I have gotten at Don Pedro's before than come back here again. I'm a big fan of Casa Bonita! We're there pretty much every other week, and I've tried a bit of everything from the menu. I like the Steak Fajitas the best, but the Burrito California is a close second for me. :) There are plenty of TV's around, all on different channels, if the dinner conversation starts to get a bit boring, but that never happens to me though, because I don't know who else may be reading this Yelp review. ;) LOL The service is always great, and the food delivered fast and hot.
