Visited this place after an obgyn appointment. My bf got the mixed meat fajita chorizo pork tips beef chicken shrimp peppers tomatoes onions and I got the monster chimichanga mixed beef an chicken. He loved his and the flavor of the food was great no issues but on the. Chimichanga it was mostly breading but still flavored well staff was great. Did not care for anything ordered. Tamale- The masa was spongy and bread-like, like a spongy cornbread. did not care for that texture. The meat in the tamale was ground beef instead of shredded beef. The tamale was sliced open with ground hamburger spilling out, so I don't think all the meat was inside the masa- I think they spooned some on after they sliced the tamale open. There was no husk. It was very weird. Relleno- The relleno was not stuffed with cheese, but a runny cheese sauce- yuck. the relleno batter was thick and spongy. Chips tasted stale, not crispy Guacamole was "off". It was dark green, and very dense/heavy. The avocado was not light and fresh- definitely was something off about it. Service was good/prompt/attentive. read more

This is my go to place! It's where I want to go after work with friends. It's where I prefer to meet people for lunch and where I want to go to dinner with my sweetheart. On most situations I go, sit, talk and relax with whomever and never feel rushed. The service is great- whether they're busy or slow. Salsa is always tasty, and their queso is perfect. I've tried many different entrees- all delicious. My only complaint is I wish they cooked their green peppers longer- their too firm for me. Nacho Jalisco is a great one to split with a few people - something for everyone in that wonderful mess! Taco fajita salad- another solid choice! Arrived in Bardtown around three on a Friday and decided to grab something to eat. Arrived at the restaurant around 4:30. We were seated quickly, chips and salsa arrived, and our drink order was taken within a couple of minutes. Glad we arrived when we did because it started to fill up quickly. My wife ordered a strawberry margarita and enjoyed it quite a bit. I ordered the Burrito Loco and she ordered the taco salad. They were both really delicious. Decent Mexican restaurant. Nothing to write home about. The chips and salsa are pretty good. The chips come out hot and the salsa is tasty. I had the Special #5, which consisted of a beef enchiladas and a chicken quesadilla. The chicken in the quesadilla was pretty good, but the beef in the enchilada is very bland and unseasoned. The kids' meals are reasonably priced and are pretty tasty. Again though, stick with the chicken. It's what this restaurant does well. Avoid the beef unless you like things unflavored. The service was extremely slow. We were there at 1:30 on a Monday, and hardly any customers were there, so I'm not sure what the problem was. I needed a refill around a quarter of the way into the meal, and I never saw the waiter again until after I'd finished. Then we had the painful wait for the bill. It took an unusual amount of time. If you're near and want some Mexican food prepared with chicken, it's a fine option. But I wouldn't drive an extended distance to get there. read more

Our first time being there and will not be back. Everyone was very friendly, we appreciate that. Everyone that worked there was in there coughing. Most were not wearing a mask. Even if it wasn't a global pandemic, we still wouldn't be back due to that fact and that was the main factor. Food was okay, my chicken fajitas were warm and almost cold. Chips and salsa were okay. Beans and rice weren't very good either. The chicken was well seasoned though, I wish mine would have been warmer. Yes I was told they take COVID test and vaccinated, but that's besides the point. Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. We were pointed to a booth, and didn't get menus or silverware until we asked for them--when we received our chips & salsa. The chips and salsa were the best thing about the experience. When our server came, he caught my husband chewing and was rather rude, asking repeatedly what he wanted to drink. He spent more time talking and joking with buddies at the next table than serving us. When we ordered, the server said something vague to my husband, and then when my husband asked him to repeat, he came over to take my order and ignored my husband's question. I ordered, and he asked how many chiles rellenos I wanted. I ordered the 2 chile relleno dinner with rice, beans and tortillas--on the menu as the chile relleno dinner. Our food was slow, and when it arrived, I did not get what I ordered. I called it out right away, and asked to see the menu. Our server straight up told me no. They had brought me some sort of combo with with Taco, a tamal, a chile relleno, salad and an enchilada--much more food than I could possibly eat. Another employee and the manager came to our table, and when I told them what I had ordered, they cleared the plates away with a comment about someone eating the mistake. I had to wait for my order to be corrected, and then the rellenos were soggy. When our bill came, they had comped my husband's margarita, but he didn't have any issues with his meal. read more

The food is always delicious, with quick and efficient service, plus great portions for the prices. The thing that sets Cinco apart for us is the amazing customer service and atmosphere they provide. I'm from Louisville, but my mom lives here in Bardstown. We visit often, and while out shopping today we stopped at Cinco de Mayo. It was fabulous! I had the chicken and steak fajitas, my mom had the taco salad. Her go to Mexican food choice. The fajitas were very well seasoned, not just some plain chicken and peppers thrown on a grill. Today around 2:00 my friends and I went to have lunch here. We didn't end up getting our food until about 2:50, and no, it was not packed, there were only about 4 other tables. Our server only came to the table to get our drinks, take our order, and give us the food. He never came back. He also took a break and sat down and starting eating, knowing he was our server. The guy also would not speak to us, and when he did, he spoke so low that we couldn't hear. When my friend told him it was her birthday, he sat there and rolled his eyes, then starting yelling at another server in Spanish. He had a horrible attitude the whole time he sang. So yeah, not a good experience at all. Food tasted good tho, besides the fact that our $5 dollar small bowl of queso was COLD. read more

Most could not finish because of the generous portions. The management was friendly. We discussed places in Mexico with our waiter. The waiter was efficient, knowledgeable and friendly.
