The grouper dish is amazing. Been there at least 4 times and never disappoints. Only negative is sometimes the service can be a little slow

We have been using this restaurant for years with always great results however tonight we have to say we had the worst service and a pizza that was not even close to the normal outstanding pie we were so accustomed too. After ordering a take out pizza we arrived at the drive up window at the exact time they said the pie would be ready, we sat at the window for over 5 minutes while staff walked around, talked to each other and basically ignored us. We blew the horn and finally a rude young man came to the window and said "what do you not see me on the phone", we replied, yes, but the other people that were less than several feet from the window just ignored us. His response was that it is not their job, wait, customer service is not their job, at least they could let you know they see you and will be with you in a minute. He then said that he had to put someone on hold to take care of me and most likely lost them, well news for him, he lost two customers tonight, because this is the last pizza we buy from them. On top of all this, the order was wrong and the pizza was cold. Never ever again will we use this restaurant for anything, if customer service is not important and food is cold, why would anyone want to go there. read more

First of all, the place is clean and larger than it looks. The service when we went was fast and friendly. The food was less than desirable. My husband got the zucchini noodles instead of reg noodles due to being a diabetic, which was a nice option, but they weren't strained made his meal so watery. My dish had no flavor at all. read more

DO NOT make the mistake of judging a book by it's cover. What looks small at front is just take out are the real view is when you go behind to the bar restaurant area. I have dined here before when the restaurant was slow and found the food to be good, the service to meet expectations and the ambiance fair. I made a reservation here for 7:30 pm on Valentines Day. My wife and I arrived on time only to be told that we would have at least a 30 to 40 minute wait. It was now 7:40 and reservations for 7:00 and 7:30 were still stacked up in the waiting area while 7:45 and 8:00 were arriving. I spoke to the manager and her excuse was that they had overbooked. I was disappointed and angry that they would ruin ours and so many others special day out of pure greed. We left there and traveled north on 17 to Ramondo's Italian Grill, a restaurant not affiliated with Open Table, and were seated immediately with no wait. We were treated cordially by the staff and enjoyed a terrific meal of authentic Italian dishes. I highly recommend the Frutti de Mare. I will never dine at Casa Calamari again nor will I recommend it to others. Shame on Casa Calamari. read more

First up, excellent place. It is much larger than it looks from the outside. Very long bar too. We had the pancetta fettuccine and the manicotti. Both were excellent. As I like my food hot when it's delivered to the table, this made no exception. It was very hot and not microwaved so he had to have made it fresh and in the sauté pan. Sauce was excellent too. If I had a complaint I would say too much mozzarella was on top of the manicotti. But if that's the only issue I have then it's no issue at all. Server was great too. Wish I had caught his name. I was curious about this place after reading reviews, then driving by yesterday and actually seeing the location made me remember I wanted to try it out. I had the linguine carbonara, my husband fettuccine alfredo with chicken, and my friend stromboli. All of us loved our meals and had more than enough to eat or leftovers to take home because the portions are extremely generous! We also had a pitcher of sangria that was delicious. Our server was Coretta and while she was attentive as she could be considering how busy they were, but all of the staff does a fantastic job of being team players to make certain the customers are taken care of. The bartender, hostess, and busser were doing their part and it's greatly appreciated. It appears this is a family run business, because we noticed even a younger boy later going around and collecting the s&p grinders, so kudos to the parents for instilling good work ethics at a young age! Visited this new restaurant with a group of 12 I had the small supreme pizza it was 13.00 . Was just ok . They did give our group a 10per cent local discount, they do not have an early bird but do have a happy hour. The lady next to me had the lasagna which I tasted also and she tried my pizza. I love lasagna but this also was just ok , hers did come with a small salad and was 16.00. The lady next to her got a antipasto salad and it looked delicious , she liked it , I believe it was 12.00. The man across from me got a seafood pasta dish and ate only half of it . The room we ate in was very big with blue lights across the arch of the ceiling which gave a nice atmosphere. They had a very large bar. So I would say the food was average and I would give it another try , the service was ok . Thought the prices were a little high ! read more

Dinner Monday evening, a table of 6. Someone forgot to make a reservation, but they happily seated us. Our waitress was Coretta and what an excellent waitress. She was busy as all get up, but treated everyone with great class, and she was fun to work with. Highly recommended dishes, a couple eggplant rollatini, 2 chicken Sorrentino, lobster ravioli, 1 linguine carbonara, and 1 pork chop Marsala. No one was unhappy and everyone enjoyed their meals. You probably would never notice this place just driving by. Plain building from the outside. Inside is nice, but the food is the star. I had lasagna and that is my fav food. Would Be in the top 3 lasagnas I've ever had. My boyfriend had the special which was pork chop marsala which he said was delicious. The bread was tasty, too. We saw other reviews about a female on the wait staff who is excellent. We didn't have her, but I saw her taking good care of other tables. Our waiter left a bit to be desired (didn't check on us, didn't keep our glasses filled), but the food was so good we'd definitely go back. read more

What a great Italian meal my out of town guests and I enjoyed this evening. We arrived at 7 pm and our party of 6 was seated immediately even though we did not have reservations. My guests had originally hoped to dine in the Marsh Walk area but a good Italian meal without reservations was not to be found. We enjoyed lasagna, pasta rusticated, chicken parm and Sun Dried Tomato ala Vodka. All meals were served with a delicious and fresh house salad. Our server brought out the most delicious bread too! Caught happy hour at Casa Calamari on our current trip to the Grand Strand. Excellent choice if reduced priced appetizers and drinks. This wetted our appetites for the Shrimp Scampi and Lobster Ravioli. Both outstanding. Expert service and reasonable prices makes this our newest "go to" place when in Surfside Beach. We enjoyed our meal. We started with the calamari and then had the veal piccata and lobster ravioli. Each came with a salad. There was enough food to feel full. The sangria was refreshing.
