This place is the real deal! You don't see too many places with quality thin crust pizza so I was pretty excited to try it when I came across this spot. The pizza crust is light, the sauce is delicious, and the pie is full of toppings. We also got an order of wings and they were absolutely worth it. The wings were crispy and tossed in your favorite sauces. They only have a few options but I'd recommend the hot. It's not as spicy as you think but does have a little bit of a kick. In addition to pizza, they have salads, Stromboli's, pasta, and wings. It was hard to choose so we will definitely be back to try the other stuff on the menu. The staff is pretty friendly and efficient throughout the entire ordering process. Certainly worth checking out if you are looking to satisfy that pizza craving in the Annandale area. I ordered tonight from casa because I had seen so many comments about it being new york style etc. sorry, that's not what I got. Exactly as somebody else said, the 40-50 minute delivery turned into over an hour. When the delivery guy came to the door he asked me for cash for gas money! (I already tipped him through the app.) we got the regular crust on the pizza, so I can't speak for the thin crust, but this could have been chain pizza and you wouldn't know the difference. read more

Used to be a 4-star place but got rotten coleslaw with last order, honey mustard so sweet that it is nauseating, and salad so dripping wet that the croutons were mush, the cucumber was mush, and it had to be disassembled and prepped correctly to be able to eat it. Their pizza is delicious. Their deserts taste freezer burnt. Have tried cheesecake and tiramisu. They give you a great portion of fries with crispy coating. I am trying to be patient with Covid, but I wouldn't order from this place again. We have gotten takeout there about 15 times over last few years. We used to order from Casa D'Mama several times a month. The pizza was usually ok. Last week we ordered a large pizza with only green peppers on it, and my wife picked it up. When she got home, we discovered to our horror that we got a pepperoni pizza instead of green peppers. Both of us are vegetarians, so we just gave it to our neighbor. When I called to let them know, they put me on hold for a while, then came back to say they'd give us a replacement pizza at a later date. I agreed with this as a fair solution to the mistake. Fast forward a few days, and we decided to order another pizza. As I was placing the order, I mentioned that they had given us the wrong pizza on the previous order, and as promised we expected the replacement to be free. After all, we had received the wrong pizza and couldn't even eat it since we don't eat meat on pizza. The person who took my call then placed me on hold again to "check with her manager". She came back and said they'd give us 50% off the next pizza instead of making it free, even though they had promised a replacement just a few days before. Needless to say we refused the poor offer of compensation for a mistake THEY made. We had been patronizing Casa D'Mama regularly for years, but we will never order from them again. They lost a loyal customer simply because they were too cheap to replace a bad order. I hope the poor customer service was worth it to them! I don't recommend patronizing restaurants like this that refuse to make things right for their customers! read more

I've ordered their food "to go" many times and have had no complaints but then I moved a short distance away. A few weeks ago a friend and I stopped by for lunch and ordered a pizza. Tonight I ordered Casa D'Mama pizza for the first time. I was very excited to try this pizza because I have become burnt out on the chains and I thought that this would be a nice surprise, But when I tried it I almost immediately realized that this was not the pizza that I was hoping for. I had heard nothing but good things about this pizza and I am sad to say that this was a letdown. The crust was still doughy and the cheese was not tasty at all. It was as if it was made to quickly. The sauce that they used was at most low grade for pizza and definitely didn't work well with the dough that they use. It wasn't terrible but it's definitely not something anyone should go out of the way for. For me it was a reminder as to why the pizza chains are better then shops like this. Casa D'Mama has been in Annandale for so long and they have so many loyal customers that I do not ever want to offend them or the restaurant itself. However this is a prime example of you get what you pay for. I hope I'm the future they do better and try harder to satisfy everyone. read more

I'm writing this review completely based on the pizza by the slice. On my phone, one of the featured yelp review comments mentioned something about this place having ACTUAL New York Style Pizza which is so hard to find in the area. This had me intrigued...but as we all probably know, you should never go somewhere based on looking at 1 review. Whoever wrote that review has never ever ever ever been to New York. If they did, they got their pizza from somewhere that is worse than S'Barros. The reviewer should have their Yelp account taken away and probably even be banned from the Internet. This was probably the worst pizza you can find anywhere in the area possibly the world. The lunch (may be all times) special is for under $6.00 you get 2 slices of 2 topping pizza and a coke. Great deal...until you see the pizza. Instead of having premade hand tossed pizzas where they just throw the slice in the oven to heat up and crisp up the crust, they just make 2 slices of pizza from scratch. They brag about being "fresh" which in theory is good, but this is pizza not seafood. Because they are creating slices instead of a pie, it is a disaster. For one thing you can't eat the slice for 10 minutes because it is always direct out of the oven. That doesn't take down any stars, but it is somewhat inconvenient. The pizza was dangerously hot. But the pizza looked like they took some crust (which was crispy and good) but then threw on the toppings (you can pick any 2, which is different due to the MTO). Then they dumped a bunch of cheese on top of it. I don't even know if there was sauce on it to be honest. The cheese was just thick clumps half-heartedly dumped on top of the crust. It was gross because each bite was just eating globs of mozzarella. Look at the picture. If you or anyone thinks this is how they do it in New York, then you should also be banned from the Internet. Some other signs that were not good. I went at 1pm and the place was empty. There was 1 person cooking in the back and 1 cashier. I don't even see how they have room to flip the pizza dough, and I don't think they do that anyway. The place is like a tiny cafeteria, nothing special to eat there. I'd be happy to go back and try their Gyro, I think that is more the style of food they are good at cooking despite pretending to be Italian with the pizza name. read more

This place is like an upscale college Italian joint who just happens to serve a couple Greek items like gyros (pronounced yee-ros), chicken souvlaki, dolmades (stuffed grape leaves), etc. Their gyros are alright, typical sliced beef/lamb mix off the roasting spit, iceberg lettuce, white onion, tomato, tzatziki, and feta. I personally think Valentino's does the best gyros in the area, right up there with Plaka Grill in Vienna. I also tried my lady's ravioli, four of them, very big, covered in mozzarella, sauce simple but nothin special. She also had the rice pudding, which was just plain nasty and generic in taste, like a powdery mix kinda generic. We could've picked up a four pack of rice pudding from Safeway, superior to Casa's in flavor and price. It's a quaint little diner with friendly staff and a little tabletop arcade game with over 30 classic games on it. What happened to the good ol' days when that shit only cost a quarter per play? We got our Frogger on, sucked, and rolled. All in all, my experience here was pleasant, but I wasn't impressed enough with their food to go back. read more

This restaurant is one of my favorite local pizzerias and I keep the paper version of the menu within arms reach. Typically, I order delivery from here about once every other month but I've dined in once with friends. The menu items for delivery that I tend to stick to are the Wings, Starters & Sides, Turnovers and Subs. Occassionally I order the greek salad. We have been getting pizza here for many years, but something must have changed. Last night I called to order the Casa Special combination pizza with one substitution, as I have gotten there many times. The person taking the order wouldn't do a substitution. He said I would need to add all the toppings individually. That would make it a really expensive pizza. So I ordered a 3 topping pizza. For one of the toppings, there was hardly any on the pizza. Sorry for those who think that the food is great here, but it's not! Wife and I came here today for lunch. Wife ordered a Calzone, and I got the Falafal Sandwich Combo. We had also ordered 2 Glasses of Water. The Water is brought to us, and I take a sip of it, and it was not only warm even with Ice in it, but it tasted like it was from the Tap instead of the Soda Machine that they have! I let that go for the time being. Our food comes out, and it looks good. But now here where it goes down here from here! I take a bite out of my Sandwich, and even though it looked like it has seasoning like you would find in Falafal, it had no Spice at all! The Falafal looked like it had been burned as well, and tasted like it as well! To me it looked like it was the Frozen type instead of it being homemade like the owner used to do! The Fries that come with it were the seasoned Fries, but the seasoning that was on them was non-existed! My Wife's Calzone looked good until she saw that there was no Ricotta Cheese in it! On the Menu it mentions Ricotta Cheese, but none was inside of it! As another reviewer and some others have said as well that since the Daughter has taken over, the quality of the Food isn't the same anymore! My wife and I were the only 2 people in there, for there was some teenager hanging out in there, and a Security Guard as well that should have been doing his job instead of hanging out inside of the Restaurant! It's been ages since I've been to this place. It has pretty good pizza. I like the specialty pizza. It's the alfredo, spinach, Italian sausage and tomatoes. The best way to enjoy pizza is to eat it at the place that its made and not carry out. It's a small place that sits around 25 people I think. I tried Margherita with fresh basil and cheese pizza, both were real amazing and would recommend trying these guys out. They have great toppings selections and great prices. I also had both chicken and shrimp Fettuccine Alfredo, the pasta and sauce were delicious. I have to say, I enjoyed every single bite of the meal. And please advise, as insane as it is, garlic bread is not included with their ITALIAN dishes. You have to pay extra for it. Granted, it's not a ton of money but... wut ? Let's see where should I start. We decided to order pizza from here since we moved. Placing the order was simply via Eat24. - Delivery - They were late. When the driver came to the door he mentioned there was no tip on the paper and tried to convince my elderly grandmother for some. When I got to the door I mentioned to him I remember submitting the tip online. The guy says okay and we say good bye and close the door. Not ever 30 seconds goes by and I hear the door bell. Guess who it was...the same guy trying to get a tip again. This time even if I didn't put a tip he wasn't getting one. Tips are given when someone is happy with a service which I wasn't. He goes to tell me how far he had to drive to drop off my pizza. Umm if I could tell that is your job and the tip is an added bonus. - Food - Pizza dough was raw and it wasn't cheesy. I was better off ordering pizza from Dominos or Pizza Hut instead of a pizzeria. I order 2 medium pies. The size of the medium is more like a small. This restaurant really doesn't know the difference. Customer Service from Eat24 - HORRIBLE! I explained to them the problem and all they could do is say sorry. That didn't matter because we choose to support local businesses. We online ordered a xlarge cheese and an xlarge 5 topping pizza. Regular crust, Sausage, pepperoni, mushrooms, green peppers and black olives. Antipatating the best, we got the worst. The minimal crust was a soggy goo under a mountain of basic cheese. Our toppings? After excavating, we found a few slivers of pepperoni. I found one lonely canned mushroom on half of the pizza. As hungry as we were, the cardboard box would have been more satisfying. Tomato sauce? Who? What? Yes I called the restaurant. I explained what was had happened, thinking that they would want to remedy this one time only(?) situation.
