Asada Burrito
Ash M.

My family drives an hour to this location on special occasions. The food is so delicious, especially the wet burrito. The servers and wonder are so kind to us every-time, and treat us like family. We love Casa De Lago!!

Chile verde burrito-mild spice-filled with pork, cheese and whole pinto beans. Delicious!

Had the chile verde burrito-wet..verde sauce was flavorful and mild spice-wise..which was wonderful. Inside was pork, cheese and perfectly cooked whole pinto beans. Would definitely come here again!

Machaca Burrito

I ordered a dry machaca burrito for pickup from this restaurant. I trusted they would give me the right order, so I left for work. When I got back, I found the burrito was wet. I started eating it, hoping to find the machaca, but there wasn't any. This was my first time ordering from this restaurant, and am very disappointed. 4/15/25

Best food ever

One bazillion times yes!! I've lived in many states, traveled all over, and this is hands down my favorite restaurant in all the land! Why can't anyone else make their food as great?! I find myself dreaming about it and look forward to visiting again just to eat here. I love you Casa!!

This is a regular place for me. I always get the enchilada with green sauce and The crunchy taco combo.

Great food. I'm a vegetarian and the chili rellenos are good. It'd be cool if they had more vegetarian options though.

Today was different...and on the way home I stopped. Now it was later in the morning but I had breakfast on my mind. Once inside I saw the counter and there I sat. Coffee arrived a moment later and I was reading the menu. Simple and to the point, the carne asada omelet that sounds good, no potatoes fresh fruit please. It wasn't long and my breakfast arrived. Nothing fancy here Omelet and a bowl of fruit. The Omelet looked small at first but once I realized the amount of carne asada and I was sold. This bad boy was full of it asada that is and the best mix of different fruit I've seen in a long time My choice of bread was a biscuit with a dab of gravy. Gravy tasted like dry mix with a little help from the cook, good but not to memorable on parker house roll size and was "with" so..no complaint. I gobbled the breakfast and swore I'd stop in on my run to pick up the kids. We'll see. Needless to say this is a no nonsense cafe. This is a no fluff diner, the interior is quite stark, blank but I wasn't here for frills or the romance. The delicious carne asada Omelet made my stop worthwhile and certainly worthy of four star Later Foodguy-Martin

Our server, Gabriel, truly made the evening special. My father-in-law is vegan and my husband has allergies to cashews and pistachios, which can sometimes make dining out stressful. Gabriel handled everything with confidence, care, and attention to detail. He walked us through the menu, offered thoughtful recommendations, and made sure everyone at the table felt comfortable and taken care of. The ambiance was beautiful, warm, and inviting, and every dish we tried was outstanding. We started with the naan and the Weiser Farms crispy potatoes, both of which were fantastic. The crispy rice salad and tea leaf salad were fresh, vibrant, and packed with flavor. For entrées, the coconut chickpea curry was comforting and delicious, while the organic tandoori half chicken was perfectly cooked and incredibly flavorful. We also enjoyed the duck breast, which was beautifully prepared and a standout dish. Dessert was just as impressive. The mango lassi ice box pie was bright, refreshing, and unique. We also loved the sticky rice donuts, especially paired with the pink guava sorbet and sesame gelato. What stood out most was the level of service. Gabriel struck that perfect balance of professionalism, knowledge, and genuine hospitality. The entire experience felt elevated and effortless, honestly the kind of service you expect at a Michelin-starred restaurant. We'll absolutely be back and will be recommending The Dutchess to everyone we know.

The woman taking orders at front must be new because she put in the wrong order and then, after we asked if the pastries could be warmed up and were told 'no', responded with 'oh okay, then nevermind', she still boxed up the pastry and charged us for it. We hope she took off the danish order we rejected (as she took back the pastry), but we didn't keep the receipt to see. If you're new, then repeat back an order to make sure you heard everything correctly. Also, why can't pastries be heated? So strange. We each ordered the congee and while the chili oil offers a nice bite, there is no flavor beyond chili oil. The chai oat milk latte was nice but that's the only thing. It's a super cute spot, has fresh flowers everywhere, a pool table, and a nice front and back bar.

Between the down home atmosphere, the classic comfort food, and the steady soundtrack of 70s and 80s hits, I half expected to see my aunt serving meatloaf while debating disco vs. Fleetwood Mac. The service top notch! The vibe is pure small-town Americana. No fake trendy farmhouse aesthetic. No $22 avocado toast. An off menu item, made in house was pure deliciousness. Crispy, hearty with the soft steamy potatoes. We are fans! Their country potatoes are not greasy, they're hot, soft, fluffy, and crispy. We were with a party of four; however, the two of us had the Pesto Chicken Pizza, which was yummy; however, quite a bit of the bottom/crust was a bit overly burnt -- otherwise, quite yummy. We also had the Fried Chicken Sammy with a Vegan Cesar salad. The chicken sammy was great with some bacon jam and onion. I was given a salad on the side; however, it was not at all a Cesar salad -- so I'm not sure what it was (I couldn't replicate it on the menu) Overall, a good experience; however, it just seemed that the order may have been rushed a bit creating a few too many mistakes. The Farmer and the Cook -- Fresh Finds Off the Main Road…read more I'll be honest, I wasn't sure what to expect walking in for the first time, but The Farmer and the Cook won me over pretty quickly. It's bright, clean, and has this easy organic warmth to it... the kind of place that feels like it was put together by people who actually care. Right off the main road, easy to find, and the family vibes are real. It's the kind of spot you want to linger in. If you're navigating dietary restrictions, this place is a quiet goldmine. Strong gluten free options, a genuinely vegan friendly menu, and plenty of vegetarian choices too... so everyone at the table actually gets to eat something they're excited about. That's rarer than it should be. The food? Solid. I went with the raw tacos, sopes, and huarache; all filling, all fairly priced for the area. The raw tacos especially surprised me... fresh, flavorful, and not in a "I wish this was a real taco" kind of way. These hold their own. Service was quick and most of the staff had a warm, genuine energy about them. The one small snag; the cashier seemed to be having a rough one. A little gruff, made me feel like my first visit was mildly inconvenient for them. It happens, we all have bad days, but first impressions do stick a little. Overall though, I'm absolutely coming back. There's more on that menu calling my name and an atmosphere that makes it easy to slow down for a bit. Whether you're vegan, gluten free, or just looking for something fresh and honest... this one's worth the stop.
