From the moment i walked in the energy was great! The ladies at the door were very helpful and friendly. One of the things i like about this place is that in order to enter you either need reservations or need to be a member. The owner has made this space very safe for women. They have a very strict policy that makes it safe to have fun. The FOOD!!! I've never been a steak fan but that churrasco changed my mind. The taste was amazing and overall a great steak imported from Idaho. The drinks are great as well, if you like spicy cocktails i suggest the spiced love. If you like cognac i suggest trying the Wolf. They really added their own twist to this Hennessy drink and as someone who couldn't even look at Hennessy bc it made me nauseous they really did their thing with this one. This place is extremely overrated.. definitely not worth the hype. You need a membership to dine here, and occasionally they open it to the public. The photos and videos that you see on instagram do not match what you see when you arrive. The restaurant itself feels gimmicky and thrown together. Sure, the holograph on the wall was interesting to look at for 30 seconds, but that's about it. Our server, Nicole, didn't seem like she wanted to be there. The drink selection (especially if you're a rum drinker) was limited. The rum cocktail that I settled on was awful. The manager/owner? stopped by our table and greeted my husband, shook his hand but completely ignored me.... Very strange. Not a big deal for us, but if you are not used to paying $10 for water, an included gratuity or an additional "service fee", get used to it while dining here. The reason for the three stars you ask? While the menu is limited, everything we tried tasted good. The macaroni and cheese balls were my favorite and the mussels, although just a few, were tasty. We parked in the parking garage for $10 as parking is really scarce in this area. We waited in the pizzeria while the hostess came to sit us at our table. Our reservation was for 730 so the place wasnt as busy but by the time we were leaving, it was at capacity. Our hostess made sure to reinform us that we had our time limit at our table. Ambiance -this place is SEXY. Dark, a tad intimate but with a full functioning bar with seats. Its a very nice speakeasy with photo ops upon entrance, which I liked. Very cool art pieces, a tree in a restaurant...very nice. Even the rest room was nice. Once seated, we ordered food and drinks. We chose to order a bunch of appetizers as the entree list was short. Drinks: Had the wolf and guava kickz. both were good, but not strong enough. We had the following: GRILLED SPANISH OCTOPUS - Okay, was a bit chewy and not seasoned enough PINCHO DE OXTAILS - meaty, fell off the bone, a tad on the sweet side, but good nonetheless CHIMI BURGER SLIDERS- yummy. Very tasty SNAKE RIVER FARMS SKIRT STEAK - So delicious, but only three for $25 ARROZ CON GRANDULES - so good MADUROS Dessert: APPLE BOMB and CHOCOLATE TRES LECHES CAKE Our waitress came out with lights and sang Happy Birthday to me. New speakeasy in JC. This is a members only restaurant. A friend had to accept a friend request from the restaurant on Instagram as part of their vetting process. You walk in through VB3 pizzeria and the door to the restaurant is hidden therein. Once we walked into the restaurant we were seated immediately. Atmosphere and decor is nice. We ordered a few appetizers which were all good. The chimi sliders needed to be on a smaller plate. They only give you two and when it was brought out it just looked like it didn't belong on that large plate. Music is great- 90's- early 2000's hip hop and R&B. There's a bar area with plenty of seating. Drinks were very good. The reason I removed a star was because our waitress delayed in bringing us our second round of drinks. Also, once we finished eating we were being rushed because our table was given to three individuals who were standing right next to our table. This was awkward. We spent quite a bit (over $500) I don't usually put pricing in my reviews but this was not cool to feel rushed. If we weren't spending much then I understand the business decision to get us to give the table up but that was not the case. Disappointing Dining Experience My recent visit to Casa De Lobo in Jersey City left much to be desired. Unfortunately, the food was far from satisfactory and lacked the flavors one would expect from a dining establishment. The Migos Tacos were a letdown, as the pernil used seemed old and dry, possibly at least a week old. This resulted in a lack of moisture and flavor, making the tacos quite disappointing. Additionally, the portion size was not up to par, which added to the disappointment. The saving grace of the meal was the mussels in butter sauce, which had a good flavor profile. However, the serving size was meager, with only five mussels provided, leaving much to be desired in terms of quantity. To add to the disappointment, the Wagyu sliders failed to impress. There were doubts about whether the meat used was actually Wagyu, as the quality and taste did not align with expectations. Overall, my experience at Casa De Lobo was marred by subpar food quality and lackluster portions. This place is an exclusive members only restaurant! It is a hefty fee to get in, but totally worth it. The ambience in the decor I totally amazing there's even a gigantic mirror on the wall of a moon and a wolf that glows in the dark, so freaking cool. My friend started with the guac kicks and I had the for bidden forest. We've shared four small plates, including the skirt steak on top of Tostones, the spicy chips and guac chicken lollipops, and ox tail. Wow every bite was seriously more delicious than the last, I could not have asked for a more fun time or better meal. You have to check this place out! Totally worth it. read more

Rsvp'd online for tonight. There was no info on their website or when I made reservation about strange location and other details. It's a speakeasy. But it sounded like a college-age nightclub. If you take Mad Hatter in Hoboken and hide it in the wall, you get Casa De Lobo. Upon arrival, the girl waiting outside the door told us tonight it's a 90's theme and we were not dressed appropriately for the restaurant. I had flip flops on (Apparently no one wore them in the 90's). There was also a cover. Which also was not mentioned on the reservation. And that cover is CASH ONLY. Men $40. Women $20. Ridiculous. There's a cancellation fee if you don't show or cancel your reservation. It's $25/pp. THAT was on the reservation details. I asked the larger gentleman if I will now be charged $50 because we could not enter. He had to check with his manager. He said no, which I was relieved to hear. It was out of our control anyway, not knowing any of the dress code or themes. We were blessed that they didn't let us in. I will not be making another reservation. Went to Ruth's Chris instead. brand new spot and a pretty cool speak easy. nice vibes here, i went with a girlfriend and we had a fun time. I do suggest you go a little later and not get the first reservation or you won't get the full experience of it. parking is in the garage next to the pizza place FYI and is a 10$ fee- we started with drinks I got the guava kicks and it was good, if you like sweet. gf had the enchanted forrest. both good. we started with the octopus, lobster mac and the tuna. the octopus was in balsamic and cooked with purple onions was good - the lobster was small for the price- they only give you half and it has a broiled taste i've had ALOT better- but the fried mac n cheese balls were great! they should honestly get rid of the lobster all together and just do huge mac and cheese balls or a bunch of small ones by themselves. the tuna was 10/10 we found it to be delicious! we then had another round of drinks and got the tacos- sliders and spicy guacamole. -the tacos had potential, but we're soggy? and they were pretty bland if i'm being honest. they would have been much better with some kind of sour cream lime cilantro sauce or a pico or something- and def would be better if they weren't soggy.... the sliders came on tostones - good idea but they had bbq sauce on them. ehhhhhh... i feel like, they would have been so much better with again, a different sauce. bbq wasn't it- with the tostones they again would be so much better with some kind of sour creama or mayo lime cilantro or even a jelly with other components to maximize flavors. but the bbq was basic and not good. the guac was really good, it came with plantain chips and tostones. we finished up with desserts, got the banana cream pie, chocolate tres leches and the apple dish. all very good in their own ways. my favorite was def the banana YUM!! all in all good experience, would definitely come back.. the service was great 10/10 they were all very kind and attentive and I appreciate that. =] read more

Through social media, which was pretty normal nowadays I knew that I was going to be having a late evening, so I was unable to try the food, but the ambience and the entrance to the establishment was a good show... Came to Casa De Lobo for dinner with a friend. It is considered a speakeasy so it was a little hard to find but the entrance was cute! I won't spoil it for you but pay attention to details! The restaurant has dim lighting with very interesting art and features. There was great music playing and before the end of our night, there was even a DJ! We came in and were seated right away. Kali, our waitress, came over right away to introduce herself and offer us drinks. She was very sweet and charismatic. We went with the Guava Kickz and the Passion & Pleasure. I liked the Guava kickz a lot more than Passion & Pleasure. Onto the food! We decided to order appetizers as our main dishes. I ordered the Snake River Farms Skirt Steak and my friend ordered the Pincho De Oxtails. For sides, we chose the Brussels and arroz con gandules. Overall, I felt the food was a bit on the expensive for the quality and quantity. I found particularly that the skirt steak dish was way too expensive for the quantity but it was tasty. My friend really enjoyed the oxtail. The arroz con gandules was also underwhelming to me but I am Puerto Rican so my expectations are high! Lol. The Brussels were crunchy and delicious. I attended Casa de Lobo for a birthday dinner for 6 ppl in Jan 2024. The food was decent and the decor was nice. HOWEVER, when everyone checked their bank statements for the charges, they added an additional $700 to our entire bill even after we swiped & signed! The following items were added: 3 steak entrees (we didn't even order that) 2 spicy guac & chips (we didn't even order that) 1 crispy cauliflower (we didn't even order that) 1 lemonade (we didn't even order that) 2 sweet corn brulee's (we didn't even order that) 3 maduros (we ordered 1) 2 oxtail apps (we ordered 1) 3 salmon entrees (we ordered 1) 5 extra shots (we ordered 6) 4 extra bottles of water (we ordered 2) 4 extra cocktails (we ordered 10) When my friends and I reached out to them they were able to correct the bill; HOWEVER, it made me question how often this happens and quite frankly it left a bad taste in my mouth. For it being such an expensive & "exclusive" restaurant, you would think things like this wouldn't happen, and to top it all off, the music/DJ was subpar. Cocktails were phenomenal, especially "Something In The Woods," if you like mezcal. We ordered the Lobster Croquetas (delicious), the Oysters Ménage A Trois (beware- weird flavor pairings going on with those- we didn't like them), the Chimi Sliders (delicious), Red Snapper (decent), and Corn Brûlée (extremely watery, barely touched it).
