Took a chance on this place when we were in downtown Muncie after seeing a couple positive reviews on Yelp. Not sure how this place had managed two 4 star reviews. Inside was clean and looked nice. I've eaten here 5-6 times and love it. The servers and owner are super personable, but it's the food that brings me back. The fajitas, chiles poblano, THE CARNITAS, are all great. No complaints about the huge Dos Equis Ambers either. The small kitchen can produce a huge menu of piping hot grub. This is also one of the few places in town that sells Jaritos and Sidral if Mex soda is your thing. I'm glad to have them downtown. read more

Well I thought PV had the best mexican food but Casa is right up there too. The atmosphere at Casa is better than PV. Great place to take your date or gather with friends! Love the top shelf margaritas (pick your own tequila!) All the food is great and a different chip/salsa than PV but very good. The bar is small but the brick wall and the wood bar is awesome. Wish this was in my basement! Can't go wrong here! read more

They have a decent variety of food here, they use pretty good ingredients and serve good portions. There are a few things you can't get at every midwestern Mexican restaurant. The tortillas can be hit or miss, but overall you'll get a good meal at a decent price and an ample portion. It's not as good as Mexican you might get in Mexico or out West, but it's a good place to get a meal in Muncie. read more

Great Mexican food! Puerto is most Muncie resident's favorite but I prefer Casa. Everything just seems fresh and better prepared here. If you have a group they do have a room for larger parties. Definitely worth a try if you're in the area! read more

It's inexpensive and edible. The service was good, the menu was huge (could be simplified a lot more), but the food was not fantastic.

Good chips & salsa. Burrito was made from good, fresh ingredients. Give you more than enough food at a reasonable price.

They're always so friendly and inviting when my mommy support group comes in. The staff is always very supportive of our crazy children, loud chatting- in their conference room, of course ;), and of us all nursing our little ones. It's so refreshing to feel such wonderful support and positivity :) The servers always go above and beyond to ensure that our large group is very well taken care of. The food is incredible! Love this place. Best Mexican in town in my opinion. I've tried nearly every major thing there. Cuidad Colonial is the other that is owned by the same people. Downtown seems cleaner and is a better atmosphere. The food is similar. There is limited seating for large groups. You can't go wrong with this. read more

I went to Casa Del Sol for lunch on a Sunday and was left with an overwhelming impression of "meh." Disclosure: I'm coming from Austin, TX and I should have known my standards of Mexican (perhaps ethnic food in general) are a far cry from small town Midwest offerings. I prefer Tex-Mex, but also really enjoy more authentic Mexican. Anyway, keeping this brief, here's my take away points: they seemed short-staffed even though it wasn't that busy, so it took a while to order. The salsa served with chips was not that good and tasted like it came out of a can. My enchilada and chimichanga plate was mediocre, although the tomatillo sauce was better than the salsa on the table would indicate they are capable of. Again, because they seemed understaffed it took awhile to flag down the server for a check. The prices aren't bad. Would I go back? I'm not opposed to it, but I don't exactly have a burning desire to return. read more

Great prices for phenomenal food. Local place, off-branch of Ciudad Colonial, the service is great, provided that they're not extremely busy. Very friendly staff/employees that usually greet you as you walk in. Expect to pay around $8.00 for one dish, but it is definitely worth it! An unbelievably poor experience. Upon entering the door we were never greeted, I had to stop a waiter to get my name on a list. After being told there would be a 15 minute wait we decided to set at the bar. After several minutes we discovered there was no bartender. After being seated, chips and dips arrived but no waitress, no drinks and no silverware. Finally after the waitress showed up we placed a drink order and (2) at my table ordered frozen strawberry margaritas, when they received their drinks it was just strawberry syrup, very little tequila and no ice. The drinks SUCKED!!!! After talking to another waiter he informed me the margarita machine was broken and there was basically nothing he could do.....didn't even offer to replace the drinks with something else. We waited a long time for our food and when it arrived we still had no silverware and had to ask the waitress for several other food items that was ordered. She never once checked back on our table to see if we needed more water, salsa or chips and could not believe the noise level in this place! This is a restaurant that would have to make tremendous changes before I would ever patron this establishment again. read more
