Immediate excellent service by the host, then later server who got waters, chips and salsa. The large menu was looked over by the group. Various items ordered. The chips and salsa tasty. The restaurant is quite expansive and was clean during my visit. Growing up in Muncie this was Butterfields, a higher end eatery. Puerto Vallarta has at least one other location in town. The food hit the table at the same time within 15 minutes. Everyone enjoyed their Mexican dishes. Follow up on food and water refills was conducted. I enjoyed my Buritto California. PV does a nice job with their fare - especially during this Covid season. The restaurant was very clean and seating was comfortably spaced. The staff was very attentive with extra chips, Salsa and refills. Not overly friendly but the service was well done. The chips and salsa was very tasty. Expect a little more zing on the salsa than most places. The queso side dip was okay...nothing special about it. I had the enchiladas supreme. It was about like you would expect at any good Mexican restaurant. The food was tasty but not distinguishing tastes. Some of the best Mexican food I've had outside of Mexico. My family is in complete agreement with my opinion. I had camarones with cihli Colorado sauce. More than a dozen good sized shrimp, great sauce and good rice. Excellent! Others had different dishes and all agreed it was great. Ordered curbside takeout for the family and it was delicious!! I ordered a double order of steak & chicken fajitas which was a lot more then two servings worth. I am here visiting. My friend and I frequent this restaurant every single visit. Love the chips and salsa and margaritas. We sit in the bar area. The same bar tender is always there. First couple times he was very nice and friendly. He ALWAYS does shots with the customers. We got there at 10:00. I figured we had time for a drink. We sat at the bar and waited on him while he drank HIS shots and waited on others. After about 15 mins I asked nicely and with a smile if we could get a drink. When I'm done was his response. We get our drinks. No waters no menu no nothing. He got a ladder and got two tequila bottles from the top shelf. Opened and poured 2 shots of each. He and the customers drank them. We are watching all this happen in disbelief. I went to the front and spoke with a lady. She brought us the cheese, water and napkins. I will NEVER step foot in that restaurant again. I believe in good tips. I always tip him. Last night he was rude and very disrespectful! I'm not sure if he is part of the family. It doesn't matter. The last time I ordered takeout several months ago, they forgot a tomale and tried to gaslight me into thinking i was wrong. What they claimed was a tomale was a tiny pile of beans covered in sauce, no actual tomale. I decided to order takeout again this evening and i find what looks indistinguishable from a 3 inch pubic hair in my chile relleno. Whenever I go here I always have a good time their service is quick, they treat their guests nicely, and they have some amazing food the only downside of the place is that it can be loud on Friday nights when everyone is at the bar or when it's about the time everyone eats dinner and when you eat it as leftovers it just doesn't taste the same the chips can be floppy/soggy and the salsa just isn't like it is when you eat it at the restaurant, but overall this place is probably in my top 5 of restaurants in my opinion and it's definitely worth a try :) read more

I give it 5 stars for my usual order. I always order the fajita quesadilla and it's super good. My husband orders the fajita nachos and he loves them. Their queso and cheese is the standard white cheese sauce Americans crave. I didn't like the ground beef version of the taco salad the one time I ordered it. If you happen across Funcie-Muncie, this is THE place to eat for BSU students {commonly referred to as PUERTAS}. So, as I was up there for business with BSU students, it was naturally chosen ahead of time to eat there. I've been there a few times and remembered their service was awesome and food was decent. However when you're in a group of 40-50 people, things can change. This place did not! I don't think they take RSVPs but were forewarned ahead of time about our group. Everyone was quickly seated and about 3 waiters made sure our 8 tables were covered for chips & salsa, drinks & food. Chips and salsa were amazing a) because they served the chips hot & fresh b) any time a basket ran empty, we were refilled.
