Looks can definitely be deceiving. We came here with my husband, daughter, and nephew thinking we were in for a great meal because the restaurant is absolutely beautiful. Unfortunately, the garlic bread was the best thing we ate all night... and that's saying a lot because everything went downhill after that. I ordered the salmon, which came out undercooked. The menu said it came with arugula, but instead it was sitting on top of plain lettuce covered in what tasted like bottled salad dressing. It was honestly disgusting. My daughter ordered the fried chicken chunks, and you could clearly tell they were reheated. There wasn't an ounce of crisp left to them. And of course... they were served on top of more lettuce. My husband's steak with mashed potatoes was the only decent meal at the table. It was the only plate someone actually finished. My nephew got the chicken wings and fries, and both looked just as bad as they tasted. I also ordered my daughter a side of rice and beans. The rice never came, and the "red beans" were some weird fried bean mixture that looked nothing like red beans. At that point we were just over it. The service made it even worse. I told the manager that my salmon wasn't served with the arugula it was supposed to come with, and instead had this sad lettuce salad. He told me, "Don't worry, I'll take care of you," and then disappeared. When I asked to speak to him again, they refused to even give me his name. I'll be disputing this charge with my credit card because this entire experience was unacceptable. Do yourself a favor and save your money. This place is all about appearances. Decided to finally try this place at Ridge Hill since I pass it every time I go to Dick's and it always catches my eye. Glad we did! When we walked in, the Latin music was playing at a nice, comfortable volume and the place was lively with a full house. It's a large space but still felt welcoming. We grabbed seats at the bar and started with a frozen margarita (very good!) and a glass of Spanish red wine. For food, we shared the empanadas to start--delicious--and then ordered the Cubano sandwich and the lamb chop tapas. Both were really tasty and definitely hit the spot. I took a look at the menu several times but didn't find many photos so I have always been a bit hesitant to give them a try. We went in during happy hour and sat at the bar. We decided to order a bunch of small items/appetizers since we had no idea what we actually wanted and I'm so happy we did that. HAPPY HOUR ITEMS: The Sangria was great we got several drinks and even took 2 to go. We ordered the Chicken empanadas and the Chicharrones de pollo both were really good. From the moment I stepped inside, the aesthetic transported me to a tropical retreat. The high ceilings, stylish finishes, and massive wood fire oven set the tone for a warm, elevated dining experience. It's clear that a lot of attention went into both the design and the menu. The service was attentive and not overwhelming. I started with a craft cocktail that was perfectly balanced and expertly made. I ordered the empanadas for a snack and they were made with buttery puff pastry. The meat was so flavorful and they were also pretty big. For my main course, I ordered the Bronzino, which was impressively large (2lbs +) and served with a fresh, vibrant salad. I also added a side of rice and tostones which were both were delicious. The Bronzino itself was a standout, crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside. Absolutely flavorful and beautifully cooked. Though I was full, the menu had me wishing I had room for more. The food needs more time I don't understand why the cooks rush the food out, if they took more time cooking the food it wouldn't be left behind on the plate. This was my first time in this establishment since the new management. The food was delicious a bit cold when I got it but delicious service is ridiculous. When we first got seated, we waited more than 15 minutes for a glass of water and then we had to wait another 10 minutes for the waiter to come and take our orders once he took the orders. The appetizers came first and then our drinks and then our food after that I did not see the waiter for another 30 minutes and the place was not even full. When this first place open, Janet was the manager. I was running good then staff was changed around. I loved going here now. We get super crowded at happy hour. Fridays am allergic to vodka. The Bar Tender did not wash out her glass to shaker I had an allergic reaction. She must've had vodka in it when I asked her if she was kind of rude management did count my whole. Meal allergies are a real thing. I feel like they need more bartenders at happy hour so they're not as stressed. Would love to go back and give them a better review. The empanadas are delicious. Decided to try this place for Saturday brunch and it was really good. We didn't have reservations but we were seated right away. It's a nice spacious place with good music. For the table we order the Latin Nachos with chicken and they were so good, instead of chips it had plantain chips. Since it was brunch, I decided to do the bottomless drink which includes mimosa or sangria (red or tropical) for $25. I ordered the tropical sangria and it was perfect for a hot day. Really good and refreshing. For main dish I ordered the pancakes and also the Cuban sandwich. Both dishes did not disappoint, food was fresh and delicious. Best place to eat at the Ridge Hill Mall. The service is great and the atmosphere is mature and gets you in the mood for latin food. The barbecue ribs on the Tapas menu are a must get! The portion size for just 2 ribs is 2 gigantic ribs. They are fall off the bone tender and the sauce is perfectly balanced. The Fried Chicken Sandwich is also amazing. The chicken was still light and tender while still being crispy. It is not heavy and greasy like a fast food chicken sandwich. The jicama slaw, avocado, and arugula compliment sandwich. The girl next to me still had a menu so she shared it with me, I started looking at it waiting for someone to take my order I probably sat there for about 10 minutes before someone came to ask for my order. finally ordered it took about another 7-10 minutes to get my drink when she got my drink. I ordered my appetizer off the happy hour menu when my drink arrived. I didn't even get like a napkin or anything. It was just like here. one of the assistants or cleaner not sure was near so I asked her for a glass of ice and some napkins so that I could get my stuff and a straw cause I don't like to drink straight out the cups or glass. The girl said OK then she walked away. looks like she told one of the old one of the bartenders and I waited another 3-4 minutes for the napkins and the the straw in the ice. Pretty much overall, they were slow. I felt service wasn't the best they weren't attentive. The booths did look comfy.The bartender was friendly and attentive. The "Playita Tini" was delicious and strong, it hit the spot. The restaurant was dark with most of the lighting coming from the fixtures/candles in the bar so perfect for a romantic date!!
