Have you been to @burritopoblano ? If not we suggest you head over ASAP. ‍ * This was the very first Mexican restaurant in Tuckahoe, NY. * Gilberto the owner came over from Mexico 33 years ago, and now with the help of his son Valentino they continue to provide authentic Mexican food. * Truly is a hidden gem that you must try, the service was amazing from the food runners, to our server Mark. * Here is what we had: * Drinks: Mango Margarita Passion Fruit Mock-tail Grapefruit Paloma Mock-tail * To eat: QuesaBirria Tacos Enchiladas Suizas Malinesa de Pollo Carnitas Tacos * Dessert: Homemade Flan (and you can taste that truly was made in house) * Also be on the look out for their big Cinco de Mayo celebration

My friend and I went to Burrito Poblano for an afternoon lunch on September 26, 2025. We started off with Queso Fundito with Queso de Chihuahua, and we added Chorizo. As our main choice, I had the Frajitas with Chicken and my friend the Enchiladas with Mole. The food was fabulous! Fresh ingredients, very large portions, and very tasty. Yes, yummy! This is an authentic style Mexican restaurant. I ate my leftover Frajitas for my Saturday breakfast... WOW, delicious when reheated! I have ordered take out and delivery before, yet what a great sit-down restaurant. Great music, not too loud. The service was excellent. Those that complained about high prices... these are the times we are in, yet the portions are large and very generous. We both ordered a burrito to take home. I believe in supporting local businesses, and Burrito Poblano is absolutely one of them. This restaurant is a must for great food!

Very cute neighborhood. This cozy restaurant feels like you're in Mexico. Loved the wall paintings. The service was out of this world. These beautiful cocktails have to be made by a professional mixologist! I would just go there to taste all the delicious cocktails on the menu. I really loved this authentic Mexican food. The Queso Fundido, Chihuahua queso with chorizo was yummy. My favorite was the Tamales with shredded chicken. These were probably the best Tamales I've ever tried. Even just the Guacamole and Chips were excellent. The Steak Fajitas were also delicious. Must try!

I can't say enough good things about Burrito Poblano, We were greeted by the owners son (who's a mixologist in the city) and were introduced to a bunch of his signature cocktails, our favorite meal of the night was the plate of fajitas! The restaurant had an amazing ambiance/atmosphere and I can't wait to go back

Get takeout! Service was mediocre at best (the guy was not too bad to me, but pretty darn rude to my husband), but the food was pretty darn good. The salsa verde was fantastic, and I loved the enchiladas I ordered. I'd go back, but only to get some takeout because the food was so good... but nobody needs to pay a premium to dine in and get crappy, rude service.

Service is terrible, waiter had a hard time understanding and explaining menu items even in Spanish. And some menu items weren't available. Would have given zero stars, but have to click one just to leave a post.

Great California style smothered burritos. The shredded chicken with the green sauce is my go to. The mole is also good if you like mole.

We ordered from here pretty regularly but stopped after repeatedly getting chicken that was rubbery and stale chips.

Wow. I just went to here with my boyfriend's family for his birthday and I'm so glad I did…read more The food was amazing. We ordered the porterhouse, creamed spinach, calamari, baked clams, the jumbo baked potato, and some pasta. The porterhouse was perfectly seasoned, and it was enough for three people to share. Whatever sauce the baked clams were doused in, I need that recipe. I used the complementary bread to soak up some of that juice and it was amazing. Their espresso martinis were also really good and strong. The only thing I did not like was the jumbo baked potato. It just felt like there was Velveeta cheese slathered on top, so if there's an item I would pass on, it would be this one. Just get regular mashed potatoes. The service was amazing. The owner came out to meet with us multiple times. Our waiters were very attentive and gave us ample time to order. They literally cut our meat and served it for us. The ambience was really nice. It's your usual steakhouse joint, with dim lighting. However, the best part about this dinner was that they seated us in a private room with one other party. It was very intimate and nice and I don't think I could've asked for better service. The cherry on top was that they came out with limoncello shots to end the night. If you're in the Westchester area, please definitely come check this place out. It is worth the money, time, and effort. You will not be disappointed.

Since children…read morecan't sit at the bar, we weren't able to take advantage of happy hour, which was disappointing but understandable. The owner was very gracious and offered us six complementary oysters since we couldn't sit at the bar. The oysters weren't our favorite that evening, the rest of the meal more than made up for it. The rest of the meal was very enjoyable. The crab cake was enormous, the grilled octopus was excellent - my son loved it - and the veal with prosciutto and melted cheese was tasty. The baked potato was huge and cooked perfectly. I ordered a cocktail and they made me one with elderflower which was nice but a little sweet for my taste. My friend's Manhattan was nice and strong. What stood it the most was the hospitality. The owner went out of his way to make sure we had a good experience, and that level of service is sobering we really appreciated. Next time we'll probably make it an adult only happy hour so we can enjoy the bar menu.

This was my first visit back to La Casa since my initial visit back when they first opened. During…read moremy first experience, I wasn't too impressed and left a 3-star review. However, I'm happy to report that I dined here recently and had a better experience. Since the time of my initial review, La Casa remained in my periphery - mainly because my parents periodically visited and it was a frequent stop of one of my friends who lives in Bronxville. That being said, I was curious to check out La Casa again - and that opportunity came when my mother chose here to celebrate Mother's Day. La Casa is located just off the main commercial strips. The interior is pretty spacious with a bar towards the front of the restaurant and the main dining room split in two sections. The decor is somewhat under-toned with a cool color scheme and tasteful decor. This is in contrast with other Mexican restaurants that tend to go overboard with the kistch and warm colors. I will say the seats look a little tired, they could use some re-upholstering - and were a little lower to the ground than I expected. In addition to the indoor space, they have an outdoor section which was done up very nicely. The brunch menu contained a selection of apps, sides, quesadillas, tacos, and sides. We decided to start by splitting a few apps: brisket and al pastor tacos, a quesadilla, street corn, chips and guac, and more guac with tuna. All the apps were tasty - the biggest standouts for me were the quesadilla and the tacos which were all generously filled and had good flavor. For my main, I got the camarones a la diabla which were shrimp in a red pepper sauce placed atop beans and paired with bok choy. The dish was pretty good - the shrimp could have been a bit snappier, but I appreciate that they de-shelled them and the sauce and beans worked well with them. Dare I say the bok choy was the star of the dish? It had just enough flavor and added a needed green. We opted for dessert, and I got the grilled pineapple which was paired with (per the menu) vanilla ice cream or guanabana sorbet. I wasn't asked to choose, and was served the sorbet. I would have liked to have been given the option, but maybe that's all they had - fwiw the sorbet was good. The pineapple was candied and came as a large, thick ring - definitely needed a knife and fork to cut it up (which they provided); this was a good dish in concept but I think it can be executed better. Service was good, everyone was friendly and efficient. In my experience, service tends to be the weakest component of a meal on a holiday, but they did a great job. Overall, I had a good experience at La Casa. Even though it's not in my backyard, I would definitely return if the opportunity presented itself.
