Had the Drips Rum Punch and Drips Margarita, both drinks were exceptionally tasty and packs a punch! Followed by the Drippy Wings in pineapple, wanted something different and Baby!! They were crispy and delicious, the sauce was sweet but savory (more flavorful than sweet). My date had the Pineapple Salmon with the fried rice side. Salmon was cooked to perfection with the same sauce from the wings made me want to lick the plate. I had the oxtails (only available on weekends) came with rice and peas added and extra side of Mac & cheese. The oxtails were fall of the bone and savory. Love the decor and ambience. The service was attentive and the food was delicious! The oxtail was flavorful and tender, the Rasta pasta was nice and spicy. The rum punch is so good! The ackee and saltfish breadfruit bites with sweet plantains on top were perfect. I have driven past this restaurant many times in my life and I never knew that it was here from the outside. The restaurant is not very glamorous but once you step inside the interior decorations, the music and the atmosphere just screams hidden gem. The staff was very welcoming, and the patrons were dressed to impress. The restaurant played A lot of throwback R&B hits which made the experience even more enjoyable. I noticed a lot of people ordering the oxtail Rasta pasta so I definitely had to try it for my appetizer. I got the drippy sweet chili wings, for my entrée I got the oxtail Rasta pasta included with the meal. Was your choice of bottomless mimosas or screwdrivers. I chose the screwdriver. When the wings came to the table, they were still piping hot and the sauce was amazing. The wings were crispy. Just the way you would expect once I finished my appetizer maybe 10 minutes later my food came out and the presentation was amazing. The portions were very hearty definitely worth every penny. I left the restaurant absolutely satisfied and I cannot wait to come back to this restaurant and try some more of their dishes. The bartenders are unprofessional and rude. Kenisha and Matthew have no sense of customer service. I've given this place a chance multiple times because they make fast food, but this will be the last time i come here. Bartender Matthew heard me ask him if their "fruit punch" had alcohol in there, said no and after I ordered, I somehow ended up with a rum punch. Apparently he "never serves punch without alcohol in there" If the item is not available, why have it on the menu? Checked out Drips on a Wednesday evening for happy hour which lasts all day. I loved the space. It's small inside, but gives upscale vibes. They have a mix of high chair and regular seating. Our server, Tracey was a doll! Very nice and had good recommendations. We ordered the Taco Trio w/ Shrimp, which was fresh and totally delicious. Since we weren't really hungry we opted to just get the jerk fried rice (with shrimp) which they gave a small portion of but we were able to share it. That too was very good, just a bit spice. Every appetizer that we attempted to order was "finished". No ackee, no wings, etc. This is a Jamaican spot, so they live up to that "We nuh have dat" stereotype (IYKYK) lol. The owner even came out and spoke to us and let us know that certain items were out. We ended up just ordering the jerk chicken quesadilla, which was lil skimpy and nothing special. On top of that, it took us almost an hour to receive our entree and we were irritated at that point. They actually not once, but TWICE sent the wrong order to our table. The side of plantain that I ordered was the worst plantain I've ever had in my life. I don't know why they'd even serve that. I sent it back. Sure they appeared quickly when the service lamp was activated but it felt a little like I was bothering my server (Whose name I can't remember because they never introduced themselves or made the experience memorable enough for me to memorize the name tag ) . It was just okay, but there is definitely room for improvement. I came here on a date on a Thursday night, and there was a nice crowd. The place is very small, but it did not feel crowded with too much in the space. The aesthetics were great, and the customer service was friendly. The ordering process was seamless, but unfortunately they were out of oxtails which my date wanted. In addition, I tried to order my salmon at the temperature of my liking (medium), but I was told that the salmon was precooked. In the type of establishment it aims to be, I would was surprised the salmon was not cooked to order. Salmon does not take that long too cook. I could understand oxtail being precooked but not salmon.The drinks came out in a timely manner, and were great in presentation and in flavor. Prior to the appetizers coming out, we were informed by our server that the entrees would be coming out at the same time. This was annoying because they really should not be coming at the same time. She ended up bringing out the appetizers first, and they were okay. I had the calamari which was fried nicely, but the seasoning throughout each piece was inconsistent. Some were seasoned perfectly and others not so much. Next, when the entrees came out they were luke warm because they had been sitting out ( I am assuming because they were ready at the same time as the appetizers). The salmon was pretty good, though I wish I could've ordered it to my liking. The rice and peas were good and flavorful. My date had the shrimp rasta pasta and he shared that it was good, but it did not wow him. As far as the service, it was slow and inconsistent. When we received our appetizers, we did not get any utensils or small plates to eat off of. In fact, my date had to get both of these things on his own. The music was good, and I had a good time overall. I understand its a new establishment, so I hope they are just working out some of the kinks. The shrimp tacos were AMAZING. Usually when I order shrimp tacos they give 3 unseasoned baby shrimp , that was NOT the case here. The shrimp are chopped, seasoned extremely well and cooked just right! The dipping sauce to accompany it was delicious as well. To drink we had the rum punch and sorrel mule. The rum punch punches back! HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT. Although it the establishment is small, they didn't cut any corners with decor, service, or flavor. If I return to the Bronx I'd definitely come back here! This place is perfect for a date night of any kind. I wouldn't say it's suitable for large groups. Street parking is available as well. The only thing I was unhappy with was the portion of chicken I received in my to go order, especially given the amount of rice provided and price paid. The waiter came back a few times before we were ready to order but never once mentioned restaurant week (that was our reason for trying out this restaurant out). The second drinks and appetizers were brought out maybe 12 mins later causing us not to enjoy our drinks and appetizers together (nobody wants their food to get cold or drinks to water down by waiting). Dinner took another 15-20 mins. I must mention that while ordering the waiter asked if I wanted my rasta mild, spicy, or extra spicy, I told him mild but upon tasting my food it was more on the spicer side; the pasta was flavorful I must give credit there. But another thing that annoyed me was that was the piece of chicken I was given for my rasta past was a chicken thigh. I had to sit and take bones out...when ordering pasta I expect it to be easy and clean. I expected some form of boneless chicken. Everything was really good, I wouldn't order the Mac and cheese if you don't like a garlic taste but it was still really good. The meat was cooked to perfection, so soft and tasty.
