    Fettuccine Alla Carbonara

My family had been really looking forward to eating at Casa Grille, it looked like it promised an amazing Italian culinary experience. Unfortunately, we did not have a good experience. Oddly, it started very auspiciously, we came in one cold December 2nd and we were politely greeted and seated with no wait. There were plenty of other patrons, but the restaurant had not gotten full yet. The restaurant was well decorated, clean and comfortable. We took some time to review the menu and started with drink orders. My family had some white wines, I ordered the Casatini. The wine was good, but that Casatini was special. It is made with Tito's Vodka, Godiva Chocolate, Bailey's Irish Cream, creme de cacao, and cream. This was so good, so very good. We got some minestrone soups, possibly the best minestrone I have ever had. It was warm, flavorful, absolutely delicious. The complimentary bread was perfect alongside the soup. Sadly, These were the highlights of the meal. We ordered the appetizer, the Polpette. The meatballs just had no flavor, bland. This would be how our main courses were. We had stuffed shells, fettuccini a la carbonara, and the rotisserie grilled pork chops... bland, bland, bland. The pork chop was drenched in sauce which was flavorless. The pasta was over-cheesed and over cooked. Make note, the service was great, the drinks were great but the food outside the soup left much to be desired.

A Fort Wayne staple that never disappoints for me. Pictured in their Buffalo chicken pizza on their cauliflower crust cooked well done. This is hands down my favorite cauliflower pizza in Fort Wayne . The taste, the smell, and cooked to perfection.

Let's update in 2022 shall we? Pretty sweet spot for sure. They keep it ice cold in here! Those days when it's 100 out and humid. Casa feels like a cooling center! Yes it's that good folks tell the girlfriend that gets cold easy bring a sweeter. Fresh pastas and breads. Appetizers are off the ringer too! What's not to love? Nice place to very nice inside, clean to. Really fun place! Love the arctic air on them hot sticky noons. Mostaccioli Al Forno A satisfying dish of pasta, rich meat sauce and ricotta cheese baked under a thick layer of Parmesan, provolone and mozzarella cheeses. My go to it's a banger!

This was our first visit to Casa Grille in Fort Wayne. It is a huge space and is nicely decorated with a large bar area. It was really busy tonight and conversation was hampered. Our waitress promptly spilled a diet drink in the middle of our five top and everybody grabbed their cell phones and pushed back to avoid the deluge! Out of nowhere two other servers appeared and the three of them made quick work with the mess. Good helpful teamwork. My 8-year-old granddaughter loved her cheese ravioli, my wife devoured her four cheese pasta, and our friends liked their spaghetti and meatballs. My rotisserie chicken with raspberry sauce was good but not outstanding although the side of grilled vegetables made up for it. The server forgot to bring my pasta side but I didn't complain as the vegetable side was huge and tasty. All in all The Casa Grille earned this reviewer's solid four star rating.

My husband discovered Amore while out jogging and decided to make a reservation, and we're so glad…read morehe did. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted by two hosts who were both very pleasant. We were seated immediately and accommodated our request to sit near the bar. The ambiance is absolutely striking. While chic and polished, the interior also gives off elegant Caesars Palace-inspired design vibes--grand, dramatic, and visually captivating. The bar setup is truly breathtaking and instantly draws you in, making it a perfect spot for a date night or celebratory evening. Our server, Dawn, truly made the night exceptional. She was warm, attentive, and knowledgeable, and her recommendations were spot-on. We ordered the lasagna and the salmon with potatoes and spinach--both dishes were beautifully seasoned and full of flavor. The drinks were just as impressive. We enjoyed Uncle Nearest Nearest (which came with an ice cube stamped with an "A"--such a great attention to detail), a Luxy Lady, and prosecco--everything was a hit. I've seen a few comments about portion sizes, but we felt they were perfectly aligned with what you'd expect from an upscale restaurant--satisfying without being overwhelming. The only reason I didn't give a full five stars was due to the manager (or who I assume was the manager). He stood nearby for long periods without engaging with guests--no greeting, no smile--just an uncomfortable, awkward presence that felt a bit like being stared at. Most managers on the floor interact with guests, so this stood out. Aside from that, we had a great experience and will definitely be returning in the future.

Amore - gourmet Italian in a fine dining atmosphere…read more Amore is not for everyone. It is expensive and the portion sizes are smaller relative to the entree cost. Slow paced-finer dining is not everyone's cup of tea. However, these are things that I enjoy and I chose to celebrate my birthday at Amore! Amore is located on the renovated Pearl Street. This has been an amazing transformation for those of us that remember the days when Pearl Street wasn't a family friendly destination. You may park free on the street or free in the large parking lot west of the restaurant. Making reservations is very easy via the website. I would definitely encourage you to make reservations if you want to eat during the prime dinner hours. The host and wait staff are professional and very friendly. The facility is beautifully decorated in a modern decor. The large bar and bottle rack is very attractive. You will find the seating to be very comfortable. The table linen, dishes and glassware complement the whole atmosphere. At least I feel all these things set the foundation for an excellent dining experience. Dining at Amore was about a two hour, relaxed and enjoyable experience. We started the night with the small focaccia bread. The bread comes cut into tall cubes that can be pulled apart and dipped in the Parmesan sauce. The crust is a bit tough with a soft inner breading. It has a classical Italian bread flavor. The olive oil dip has a thick bed of Parmesan at the bottom. Thick enough that you need to use the spoon to apply the delicious mixture to the bread. Definitely a must get!! The small size is perfect for two people. My wife ordered the mushroom ragú campanelle pasta dish. The pasta is made on site into a special "cone" shape. It is perfectly cooked to a firm but tender consistency. The mushrooms tasted very fresh and comprised a thinner sauce. The sauce had a bit of that mushroom-beef taste along with a moderate amount of Romano cheese taste. This dish was topped with an innovative cashew ricotta cheese dollop. The ricotta accented the noodles, mushrooms, Romano sauce nicely with a slight hint of cashews. Excellent dish! I went with the meat lasagna. The homemade noodles were very thin - perhaps 1/2 the thickness of a normal lasagna noodle. This made the dish lighter and moist. The noodles were perfectly cooked and layered with a bed of beef, pork and cheese. The mixture, while prominent, didn't over power the noodles. The lasagna was surrounded by a moat of white wine crème sauce. I was a little skeptical of this as it isn't usual. The white sauce was very smooth with a moderately thick consistency. It adds more moisture to the baked noodles and pulled out the meat and cheese mixture tastes. Another outstanding dish! Amore made the birthday dinner special with a complimentary personalized birthday card and chocolate lava cake. The card was individually signed by many members of the team - never seen that in my years of dinning out! The lava cake is not to be out done! The cake was firm on the outside but moist and warm on the inside. The cake had a rich chocolate taste. It came with a lava sauce baked inside and a container of extra sauce to pour over the top. That sauce had a more mild chocolate taste but still delicious. It also came with a small cup of olive oil gelato creme. That was light and thin such that it flowed over the inviting cake. The gelato provided an ice creme appeal without piling on more sugar or dairy. We definitely recommend the lava cake!! Overall, Amore met exceeded my birthday expectations. The food was creative and delicious! The team made us feel welcomed and served us professionally and well. The atmosphere helps make your two hour dining experience enjoyable.

The bad: I made a reservation for bar seating since we were going dressed very casual. It was a quiet night so we didn't really need ireservations but I didn't know what to expect being our first time here. The bar seating was the problem. We were seated in a booth, no surprise there. The problem is that 60-70% of the booths in the bas area are elevated. Why is that a problem? There is nothing under your feet, no bar, no platform, nothing. So there I sat with my legs dangling like a little kid at the grown-up table. It was terrible. I should have just moved to the bar rail but I shouldn't have to. Whoever made the design decisions related to the elevated booths must have been in the NBA. This seating cost you 2 starts, it was that bad. At least I know if I go back to reserve the normal dining section or just sit at the bar rail where this is your choice of a platform for your feet or a foot rung on the chairs.

One of the most underrated restaurants and likely a top contender for best restaurant now in Fort Wayne.
