Ziano's was a restaurant I was told was amazing by a lot of my friends, I was also told it was on the same level of classiness as Cheddar's or BJ's Brewhouse. However, I would honestly say it felt more like an Italian Applebees. The food was good but the breadsticks everyone talked about were burnt twice. Maybe the day I went was just an off day so I will try it again. The pasta dish was nice and my friend had a pizza that they said was delicious. Large Group Party - in this review I'm going to highlight how Zianos hosted our wedding rehearsal dinner. The northeast location has two large rooms that will seat about 50 people each. The rooms are in n opposite sides of the restaurant so they can't be combined. Both rooms are open enough to handle a large party. Finding a 50 person room in Fort Wayne is not easy to do. Keep Zianos northeast on your option list. For dinner we were offered a four entree menu - lasagna, spaghetti and meatballs, chicken Parmesan and pasta primavera. All excellent choices. They included breadsticks & dip, house salad and a non alcoholic drink for a very affordable price. No charge for the room. Our 45 person party had 2 servers and 2 bus people taking care of us. The food came out quickly. They did an excellent job with drink refills . Our party had individual bills for alcohol service - which they handled well. Overall I definitely recommend that you consider this option for you large party choices. read more

4 stars... I've been to another location previously and liked it, so I jumped at the chance to try this one. Quiet Saturday afternoon so only a few tables were occupied, but unfortunately I was stuffed at a small table in the back as I was by myself, and I think this might be related to the less than attentive service. Ordered the lunch special; small house salad and spaghetti & meatballs. Salad was great with a nice sweet Italian dressing and diced veggies, just the right size! The spaghetti was perfectly al dente and the sauce was just like I remember it..tasty and meaty! The meatballs were flavorful and tender...and I smothered it all with grated Parmesan! Ambiance is strip mall upscale, service left a bit to be desired, and prices were below expectation fir the quality and quantity of food! My buddy lives not far from here, and based upon this experience I'll be back when I visit again next year... this joint makes the list! read more

Great recommendation from a friend! It will be a new stop on our regular trips to Michigan. We split a large house salad and the dressing was amazing. It was the perfect portion too. My husband said he would be happy just eating the soft and delicious breadsticks. (Without a doubt best we have eaten) We were both craving Lasagna. It was so cheesy and the sauce was really good. Now anyone who follows me knows that I hate leaving bad reviews and i always give the benefit of the doubt and always try a place more than once before reviewing it but I'm so sorry. I have to be harsh about Zianos. It is a HUGE no go for anyone who knows what Italian food is supposed to taste like. I understand that the Italian culture may not be super prevalent here in the Midwest and maybe getting some classic Italian ingredients might be a challenge but c'mon. The basics are the heart and soul of Italian food. Good non synthetic mozzarella, actual ricotta (not cottage cheese!!) And most importantly, the sauce. If you can't produce a good fresh sauce, you should shutter the place and lock the doors until you figure out how. That being said, this restaurant failed us on almost every level. The staff was great. Super friendly and hard working. The restaurant was clean and well decorated (save for the cafeteria style tables.) But the food? Yikes. They brag about their bread sticks and while they aren't disgusting, they're pretty much Pillsbury dinner rolls with some garlic butter and Parmesan cheese on top and 4 dipping "sauces" which were mysteriously bland. I recognized that one was butter and one was "tomato sauce" but the other 2 ? I haven't a clue. Fort Wayne is in desperate need of a baker who knows how to produce tasty Italian, french or semolina bread with crust. Sadly it just doesn't exist here. What i found peculiar is that they had on the table, the standard Italian bread eating staples such as, red pepper, parmesan, olive oil(i hope) ans S&P. There's nothing more essential to Italian dining than dipping delicious, crusty Italian bread in quality olive oil and whichever staple you choose to sprinkle in. In this restaurant those are seemingly only for decoration because you only get bread if you order it as an appetizer and it's SO not worth paying for. The so called pizza was strange to say the least. The dough was just that. Doughy. Additionally it was soggy and water logged with an odd sour, sweet taste to it. The toppings were bland and we'll get to the sauce later. The wife asked to have garlic added to the pie and was told "we don't have actual cloves of garlic in the kitchen". This is an "Italian " restaurant right ? Or did i miss read the sign? Anyway, As some of you may already know, i tend to always order chicken Parmesan the first time i try an Italian restaurant because it's a great baseline item that showcases the primary ingredients of most Italian dishes. That being sauce, cheese, breading and technique. At this place they call it "chicken mozzarella ". Not so much. As you can see in the picture, mozzarella was the ingredient they put the least into this dish. The chicken consisted of what I'm positive were 2 frozen patties identical to those you getcwhen you sitting in your room accross the street at parkview hospital. And sadly, the sauce was of the same standard. It has to be "out of a can". If there's an actual chef making this stuff in the kitchen he/she should be shipped out to New York for a couple weeks to learn what real sauce is supposed to taste like. This sauce is pasty and tastes like a pile if rehydrated basil with a hint of Campbell's tomato soup. Very wierd and unfortunately impossible for a native New Yorker to get past his nose. The pasta sauce was the same. Im sorry to say that the best thing on our table was the wine. Usualy if it's lousy or not we will eat it anyway because hunger is hunger. But not this time. We left it on the table and for the first time in my life, requested not to pay for it. They did kindly oblige and only charged us for our drinks which we truly appreciate but i would prefer ti have enjoyed a nice meal and not gone home hungry. My message to Fort Wayne ? First timer at Ziano's and wasn't disappointed. This is on our list to do again. They have seating for just a couple up to large groups. We had I think 15 in our group. We were greeted with a friendly smile and were seated right away. Drink order was taken and served quickly and same with appetizers. Small salads are what I would call huge. They were very tasty. We came in to town for a family visit and decided to bring over dinner. This was one of the closest places. First I tried to order through their website, but there wasn't a function to select which location so unfortunately the order I made had to be cancelled because it automatically selected the Covington Road location instead of Maysville Road. So we then called the Maysville Road location and placed our order. When we came to the restaurant for pick up, they immediately took payment, but then couldn't find the order. Then, after a minute of looking they just stopped looking and just kinda acted like it just didn't matter anymore. After several more minutes the manager or owner came out and asked if I needed help, and I explained what was going on. So he proceeded to look for my order, which he couldn't find either and then walked back into the kitchen and came out with what was supposed to be there our order. At this point I currently am kicking myself, because after this display of ineptitude I should have checked the order. But, unfortunately I didn't. So of course when we brought dinner to our relatives, we open the bags/containers to realize not all of our order is there‍ Particularly amusing was the 2 cheese sauce containers, without any of the the 3 orders of breadsticks. Clearly, some attention to detail is lacking at this place. The food we did eat (mind you I was starving at this point) was mediocre at best. The breadsticks here are so delicious Salad came next and it was a Greek salad with an outstanding dressing. Then came my pasta selection. This meal was just so perfect. They have a large room for groups, clean restrooms, plenty of parking, great staff and management. They handled a large group easily. Food came out promptly and at proper temperatures. This was our first time and we were craving good Italian, preferably Alfredo and breadsticks. It was a Saturday at 3, no one there but we had to wait a few to be seated. Our server was friendly but not very attentive. We ordered the breadsticks which omg were amazing and you can't beat 5 for only .99!!! We also got a boat of Alfredo sauce and that was delicious. I ordered a dinner size of stuffed shells which you get 5 large ricotta filled shells smothered in Alfredo sauce. Very good but it was so filling I could only eat 2! My husband got chicken Alfredo and the chicken was really rubbery which was a disappointment since you pay extra for meat. My dad got a shrimp Alfredo pizza which I tried and didn't really care for. If you're a veteran you get a 10% discount so make sure you tell your server. We had a lot of food left over and took it home for lunches this week. I was conducting business in the area and it was just about supper time. My party of 3 decided to skip fast food and go for a nice sit-down dinner. Yelp directed me to the next exit along the highway and we ended up here. When we first walked in, we were greeted and taken to a booth in one of the back sections. This made for a cozy arrangement, both for us and the other patrons throughout the restaurant. We had a youngster with us and he was given crayons to occupy his time, as the tablecloths were covered with white paper, allowing him to color at his heart's content. We were seated with menus in hand and everything on the list sounded good. Shortly thereafter, our server Kristen arrived and took our drink orders. She found out we were out-of-towners, stopping in for the 1st time. She suggested the bread sticks appetizer. This turned out to be an excellent choice, as the bread sticks were absolutely fantastic, with 5 of them covering a dinner platter. Not only were they delicious, but as 1st timers, they were complimentary. Wow, we're off to a good start! The little guy ordered macaroni and cheese from the kid's menu. It came with his selection of applesauce and his drink. One of the two remaining adults ordered the Dinner Shells Special in a white sauce, with a salad, as listed on the white board near the main entrance.. The other meal we ordered was the Fontanini Sausage and Pepper pasta meal. Both adult meals were excellent in taste and completely covered the dinner platters. With garlic toast to accompany each meal, you can be assured we were completely satisfied at the conclusion of our meals. Throughout the meal, Kristen checked in on us to make sure everything was alright. Her service was attentive, but not overly so - just right. Somewhere along the way, we asked about a military discount. I showed my ID (I do this always, even though I am rarely asked) and was pleasantly surprised when a 15% discount showed on the bill. It was by chance we ended up here tonight and really we are so glad we came. We were greeted by our lovely waitress, Christine , and her first question was if we had ever been to Ziano's before. Telling her that we had not , she offered us complimentary breadsticks which were amazing themselves and THEN we had the side salad. It was a pleasant surprise as we expected typical Italian dressing on the salad , but it was MUCH better than that. Lastly was our entree... The stuffed shells with chicken . (Helpful hint: save some of your breadsticks for dipping in the garlic Alfredo that comes on the shells!) WE were stuffed when all was eaten and more than satisfied. Who said you can't eat dessert first? I sat down and noticed the tiramisu, I had to have it first! So besides that we got breadsticks (which were huge), I go the lasagna and my husband got the spaghetti and meatballs. The food was really great! He service was awesome too. I have no complaints. Ziano's appeared on the scene about two years ago in Fort Wayne. I'm not sure if they exist elsewhere or not. They're directly competing with another more established Italian chain in Fort Wayne called Casa's. The house salad, although perfectly fine, certainly can't compete with Casa's. However, my Spaghetti & Meatballs was an extremely large portion, and an entire plate of breadsticks is only 99 cents. So, based on price and portion size, you can't go wrong. Personally, my tastes have shifted in recent years toward higher-end Italian offerings, but I won't hesitate to come back to Ziano's when we're in town or visiting friends. Ok soo this is my new go-to spot for a quick and....um...."value (and wallet friendly)" lunch. Hahaha! Ok, you twisted my arm, I mean cheap lunch. But it's delicious and that's all that matters. I get the small house salad with the breadsticks and marinara sauce. Salad=$1.99. Breadsticks and sauce=$2. The salad is wonderful. Big enough to satisfy a lunchtime hunger. It's a mix of lettuce types and has diced tomato and green onion and is sprinkled with parmesan cheese and tossed lightly in a zesty house dressing. The breadsticks are enough to share. They are hot and chewy (in a good way.) I douse mine in parmesan cheese and they are just delicious. I could easily order this for lunch every day for a month and never tire of it! Everybody needs a good Italian craving fixed every now and again. Ziano's breadsticks are 99 cents for a few, but they usually leave you a card for 1 free order your next time in. Sauce is an extra cost if you want to dip. They have good lunch specials, and a pretty decent pizza too. My favorite dish here is actually the Greek salad with grilled chicken. That's not a slight to the fettuccini or spaghetti, it's a nod to the salad. Service is always good, and the restaurant is always clean. Nice spot to go on the NE side. read more

I will say that the breadsticks are amazing amazing I like ordering the Alfredo sauce to dunk them in. So good. I'm usually not an alfredo fan but this Alfredo is really really good. I have enjoyed their salad and everything else but at this location I was not as satisfied. The waitress was very busy and at first she was really on it, but as our dinner progressed things just got forgotten namely my dinner she brought out my mom and stepfathers but then didn't bring my food so I sat there with nothing and like I said she was busy I'm looking around trying to find somebody to be able to ask where my food is and nobody was around you can actually see by the pictures I got the shells with the ricotta and alfredo and that's a meatballs on top they are about the most squished shells and probably one or one and 1/2 meatball on top. Is what I finally got after my parents almost had half of their food done. And then at the end it just was so discombobulated, I told her I wanted a extra cheese sauce and a garlic butter to go and lids for what was left I needed a box in a bag and she came back with a couple of things but not everything and left me hanging with only half the stuff I was quite disappointed and this service and some of the food. Will I go there again, probably I will look and see if I recognized her and hopefully not get her again or definitely look for the manager and complain. Placed an order and showed up right when the order was supposed to be ready. The girl working the cash register was pissy and did not want to be bothered. A half an hour goes by and no food. I asked Miss Personality about this and she got all huffy and said she would check. This happened two other times to no avail. They did give me a $25 gift card but it was frustrating watching to go order after to go order getting their food and I am stuck waiting inside the restaurant for about an hour( on top of the 40 minute wait for the food to be prepped. I finally get my food and it is not only cold but half of it is missing. I already paid so It's not like I could just walk out. After asking three times to speak to him the owner( Jimmy) finally comes out and he apologized and said they were dealing with a death in the family. After this he walked away as I was going to ask if they were still going to make the missing food or not. I am very sorry to hear that someone has to deal with losing someone close to them but all of the other customers came and went with no issues but I have to wait two hours after placing my order over the phone? I have only been to this particular Ziannos twice and both times they screwed up my order. Needless to say I left the cold food there and got my order comped. I will never go to that particular Ziannos again. Do yourself a favor and go to the DuPont and Covington locations. read more

Went on a Saturday night and found that the service on the weekend is not as good as the week day. Place was pretty full and smelled like a lasagna that had been in the oven at grandmas house. As I walked past the kitchen and bathroom I received a new smell that reminded me of a moldy basement with a wet dog in it. I was not going to go in the bathroom to find out. Food was served fairly quickly but drinks were brought out slowly. I ordered a Pepsi twice and never got it. The breadsticks and entrees were great.
