This place is so, SO GOOD. I wrote a review a long time ago, I don't know where to find it, I think via google. And I was admittedly upset because they had closed early quite a few times. Not close to closing time but at least more than 15min before the listed closing time, by the third time I went there and that had happened I was unfortunately upset so I wrote a review during that frustration. Well I don't know if they changed that around and stopped doing that, I believe they did limit doing that any further; I couldn't say for sure because I haven't gone later in the day anyway, I have gone pretty early for a while now- for no other reason besides that's when I happen to go there and crave their food, pretty early morning time. But they serve all options until close in the afternoon and it's DELICIOUS. My word, and bang for your buck too, because other places will rip you off. I went to taqueria Arandinas down the street for chiccarron tacos and though they tasted good, they WAY overcharged. Casa Linda will not over charge you at all, they have the BEST prices and their chiccarrones are made sooooo Perfectly and Sooo good. I have taken my son here for YEARS. Even up to 10 years ago I would bring him here after his school day (kids school lunches are so small and inadequate) so immediately after school I would get him something hefty to eat a few hours before I would cook dinner and here I would get him the potato egg and cheese breakfast burrito, he would scarf that down so fast!! Lol and it's such a large sized burrito for its very affordable price! That potato egg and cheese breakfast burrito there used to be my go-to and my favorite thing, it still is but let me put you on that breakfast bowl- Omgosh to die for. SO freakin' delicious. But yes I've been going here for more than and up to 10 years now. Also they cook chiccarron perfectly and the chiccarron tacos are delish. My top favorite things here are the potato egg and cheese breakfast burrito, the breakfast bowl (get it- you will not regret it) an I love chiccarron personally so their perfectly made chiccarron tacos. All the prices are unbeatable and all their food is cooked amazing and very very yummy. Tucked away in a south Austin gas station lies one of the best hidden gems we've found. Casa Linda Taqueria is a small, humble taco stand producing quick and cheap Mexican food for the local community. We frequently get breakfast tacos and burritos from here, although they do serve traditional tacos, tortas, etc. The tacos can come in any combination but they do have preset suggestions. The breakfast tacos themselves are delicious. The meat is always seasoned well, the cheese pairs deliciously, and the tortilla holds it all together softly. We have ordered a LOT of variations of breakfast tacos here and have never been disappointed. They offer both corn and flour tortillas so you do have the choice between the two. As far as an all around experience goes, Casa Linda isn't going to blow your mind, but for what it is (a cheap and quick breakfast stop) it excels. read more

A first rate taqueria inside the La Familia Mexican Market at First and Dittmar. La Familia is a superior small scale Mexican grocery store. Many other small Mexican markets are not that great. Their produce and packaged goods can be old. The worst competitors are grungy . La Familia stands head and shoulders over many of the small places. It can even give Fiesta a run for its money. Most of the produce at La Familia is first rate. The meat selection is superior. There are lots of interesting marinated meats. There is a lot of good looking unmarinated meat too and multiple kinds of fine looking tripe. (If you have lots of good looking tripe for sale, Samuel C. is your friend forever.) It is also possible to special order from the meat market. When I was there in the morning, a lot of people were coming in to get custom orders - generally big bags of meat that were different from what was available in the showcase. These folks were planning to do some serious cooking. La Familia had their back. * * * The high integrity of the grocery store spills over into high integrity of the taqueria. I had a gordita with al pastor. In a gordita, it almost doesn't matter what you put inside the bread. What matters is the quality of the bread and the grill job on the bread. The toasty bread is the star of the show and all the other ingredients are backup singers. The bread part of Casa Linda's gordita is absolutely stellar. I didn't use a molecule of salsa because I wanted nothing to interfere with the pure bread magnificence. How is the al pastor? I honestly couldn't say. In a gordita, you mix the al pastor with cheese that melts with the grilling. Melted cheese changes everything. Melted cheese hurts nothing. Hooray for melted cheese. Overall, I had a fantabulous breakfast. I would happily eat here any chance I can get. * * * Note to late sleepers. Casa Linda is early to bed, early to rise. They are ready for you at 7 am if you gotta eat before going to work. After 12ish, they get tired and start thinking about going home. Casa Linda is a strictly AM and very early afternoon concept. Your Mexican breakfast will make you happy that you got out of bed. This place is fantastic! The taco's are fluffy, flavorful, and full to the brim. The staff is lovely, hardworking, and the wait is never very long. It's quite busy in the mornings and lunchtime but you can call your order in and pick up to avoid waiting. All the way in the back but worth finding. There was a bit of a wait for my burrito for the plane. Everyone else was ordering breakfast burritos which looked delicious. They were pumping out food from the grill but there was a hold up getting them bagged up. I wish they had chips but for the price it is not a problem. Was in the mood for breakfast tacos on a Saturday and saw this taco place and noticed the great reviews so I had to check it out. Growing up in So-Cal and having lived in San Diego, I have had my fair share of Mexican food and definitely think the breakfast tacos were good and inexpensive. Simple ingredients, hot and fresh with a variety of salsas to try, can't complain. My favorite was the chorizo with egg and fajitas with egg. My go-to taco place. I eat here weekly since it's just down the road from my house (sometimes 2-3 times a week). My usual orders are the al pastor torta, chicken fajita quesadilla or bean and cheese tacos. The Husband likes the breakfast tacos too. The food is affordable, fast and fresh. I would recommend taking your food to go since it's inside a gas station market, but there is counter seating and two small tables available should you want to eat there. I get a chorizo/egg/cheese/avocado taco just about every weekend here, and it's always amazing. I've been doing it for months now. Every time, amazing. Not greasy at all, perfect amount of heat/spice in the chorizo. Update: personally I don't mind that the staff aren't "friendly." I wish these people were at least a little bit friendly. There is one lady in particular who looks pissed off every time I go in. I live so close by and I used to go often. But I've had so many times where I feel like I'm imposing just to order tacos. Not even just neutral but scowling. I'm not sure why this is rated so high. The tacos are decent but there certainly far better tacos all over Austin. They also give you tiny little cups of salsa and if you ask for another one they charge you $.50. That's pretty unheard of. Especially for a tablespoon of salsa. Maybe try a quarter and it wont seem so egregious. Back again already. I was trying to figure out what was for dinner and remembered the joy this gem brought me last time. Looking over the menu again I noticed they have cactus and eggs! Haven't had any since I thought was good since moving to TX from CA. I'm excited to try theirs. I also got a beef fajitas taco, charizo and egg taco and pastor burrito. More importantly, I figured out there's a different green sauce than the one I was given last time. When he asked what type I wanted spicy or mild I said green (assuming from last time the green was the spicy amd red was the mild) . He looked at me and said "But do you want spicy or mild". I was blown away! I told him spicy and he plucked a few small containers into my bag. When I got in the car I pulled one out to see I'd it was a different sauce than the first time AND IT WAS!! I can't believe I have not written a review on this place! OMGoodness! This place can be addicting after you have your first taco, burrito, torta, etc... It all started when one of my coworkers was talking about one the best tacos in town esp (South Austin)...yes we have had Torchy's, Taco Deli, plenty of taquerias around William Canon but really nothing that had that authenticity of Mexican tacos! Well look no further...Casa Linda Tacqueria blows it out of the water! Although looks can be deceiving seeing a tacqueria inside a gas station and thinking hmmm is this going to be one of those exxon gas stations where they have cheap tacos that taste greasy and leave your stomach feeling bloated... :( Well no not this taqueria! :) When you see the gas station you know its a well kept up clean gas station that the Indian owner do a fabulous job making it look very welcoming! :) When you enter inside you notice the taqueria in the back with about two tables with two chairs and a bar table that has 4 bar stools. The kitchen looks well kept and the cool thing is that you can see the magic happen when they make your food right before you. Linda and Antonio are the owners and are always smiling and have great customer service! There prices are fair for what you pay for and you'll find yourself coming back for more! :) The first taco I had and still have till this day at least once or twice a week are the beef fajita taco on corn! OMG! Ammmmmaaaazzzzing! And since it will be almost a year since I have been coming back I notice myself trying most of all of the menu items. They are all delicious and made very flavorful! I remember a friend of mine saying during Spring/Summer he would have these with Dos Equis XX w/ lime poolside at his apt and everyone asked where did you get those tacos! They are sooooo good!
