Service: You place your order at the counter and they deliver it to your table. Nothing special but, the service is always with a smile and the girls are always special to talk to. The Barbacoa (Mexican brisket) is a rich, shredded beef dish made by slow-cooking brisket with chipotle peppers, lime, cumin, and garlic until fall-apart tender. It is simply fantastic. Macho's Taco just set the bar for Migas. Eleven bucks for a plate that is unreal. I thought the potatoes looked a little underdone at first, but they turned out insanely crispy and packed with flavor. The woman behind the counter is the heart of the place. She knows everyone by name, remembers birthdays, and even knows people's usual orders before they say a word. It gives the whole spot a true neighborhood feel. The sauces are spectacular. The orange and the green both bring real heat and make every bite better. If you want amazing Migas with service that feels personal, this is the place. Always friendly service here. The lady who takes the orders is so nice and uplifts a room and a mood. Place is clean and has seating and parking. Can fill up fast so be prepared. Had the puffy tacos and I was in Love. I have also had the egg and chorizo breakfast tacos. I had two and I could not finish my second one because they were so big. I have always enjoyed the food here, though it isn't the best in the area, because the staff are incredibly friendly. I have probably dined her 20 or so times in the last few years. Today, I went in to pick up an order I called in and had a cup of coffee from home in a to go cup that I was finishing up. The owner told me that I can't pick up my food if I have outside beverages. I tried to explain to her I was just grabbing my order and she was firm that I needed to leave. First time being asked to leave a restaurant! I hadn't paid for my order yet so not an issue of being out money but I won't be returning again and wanted to let anyone else know - leave your coffee home even if you might just be picking up your food. read more

Tasty food but, with a little effort, this could be a better restaurant. 1. Cold ceramic plates insure that the beans are cold before the plate hits the table. This is one of those all in the wall sleepers that people miss this place is amazing. I've eaten during the day and had regular tacos here and I've eaten here for breakfast a few times which is for me more delicious enchiladas with some over easy eggs, rice, and beans. As a native of San Antonio this place was just okay. The tacos were a good size but the tortillas did not taste homemade.

The first bite of the Migas Taco had a delightful burst of fresh cilantro -- very excited about that. Ultimately though, the eggs needed to be more thoroughly salted. The cheese helped a bit with this but it wasn't dispersed evenly enough for full-coverage. The Roasted Jalapeño Salsa and the Guacamole helped as well but those were also lacking some kick. There's salt at the table but, come on ... don't make me do that. The staff was exceedingly friendly and the service was fast. The portions were large (which seems to be a sentiment in many of the reviews posted here on Yelp) but that doesn't warrant any additional points with me unless the large portions also happen to be *delicious*! Oh man, what can I say about this place?! The enchilada sauce is so good. I just love this place. Everything I have had here is amazing! I get the enchiladas and eggs for breakfast, usually. Wife ordered the Al pastor Gordita and said the meat tasted old she has been in the restaurant business for over 15 years in Austin, called them to let them know and they said "we sold the Al pastor to Other customers and asked them if it tasted good and they all said it did" horrible customer service and have the same problem as the other people with the 1* reviews, $70 spent at this restaurant and was told to pretty much go f*** off that it was cooked fine. Very good, very filling breakfast tacos! We stopped here on a whim after deciding we were not brave enough to endure the line at Valentina's with a toddler and a hangry 4 year old. I'm glad we did. We tried all the classics: bean and cheese, potato egg and cheese, bacon egg and cheese, chorizo and egg, and sausage egg and cheese (all on flour bc we are basic betches set in our ways). Everything was great, and the tacos are huge! Filled to the brim with all the goodness, these are definitely tacos you'll want to eat with a fork to get the spillover filling. The salsas are awesome! If you're a spicy boi or girl, you may need to find a way to add more heat, but the flavor is very good on both the red and green. The green reminds me of a very mild doña sauce from Tacodeli, the red is fresh, sour and peppery. I eat my tacos smothered in both red and green, bc life's too short to only use one flavor of salsa! If you're a salsa person, use your words and ask for extra salsa when you order. The tortillas tasted like they were homemade. I can't confirm if that's the case, but no complaints here! The breakfast tacos are larger than most places and the side order of potato's are seasoned well and tasty. No outside drink policy put me off. I came in with a coffee from somewhere else and they wouldn't serve me because of that. I'd never been before, so wasn't aware of the policy. Look, you can run your business however you want, but just because I have a coffee, doesn't mean I wouldn't order a drink at your establishment. I didn't say anything because I didn't want to be confrontational and because I was so put off. I just went to Taco Aranda across the street instead. I think the policy is stupid. I have been here twice nice now, was great both times! Their pancakes are crazy good and HUGE! I love their aguas frescas and the lady working front register is always so nice and patient. My best friend took me here the morning after after a long New Year's party, and wow! It was funny because I got to practice my Spanish with bilingual, hilarious women as I placed my order. I ordered a migas taco and two chorizo and potato tacos with salsa verde. I had no idea that these tacos would be so big but somehow I was able to eat them all lol. To be frank, I think this was the best taco experience I have had an a long time! I would seriously drive 25 minutes South to visit again.
