    Steak fajitas
    Michele G.

Hey there Party People Been looking for a good old fashion traditional Mexican place and I have finally found it. It's a great local joint that has a nice touch of traditional decor. I am a bit of a Spanish rice snob but I have to say this place gets a 9 out of 10 from me and that's high praise. I had the steak fajitas and the meat was so tender you could cut it with a fork. The marinade was very slightly sweet with a tang of vinegar that was really great. My Hubby did a combo plate consisting of a Chicken Taco, chicken Tostada and a carnitas Burrito. He really loved the carnitas the verde sauce was on point. His only negative was that the Chicken was slightly under seasoned. The portions were large and the chips and Salsa was FREE. I know...I was shocked too. I'll be coming to this place often Be kind to one another

    Chicken enchiladas suizas

Came on a tuesday night for dinner, the place doesn't have a lot of parking and the spots were all taken. The neighborhood nearby is resident parking only, so you need to find a spot on the street. The place was packed, and I feel like they were really understaffed, service was very slow, but they were all friendly and doing their best. We got chips and (very spicy) salsa as soon as we sat down. I had the chicken enchiladas suizas which was pretty bland. The plate itself was super hot, I touched it to adjust it and I nearly burnt myself. You should not serve a plate this hot to a customer, regardless of saying 'careful it is hot', I've never had anything like this ever. Doubt I'll be back.

Chicken mole and the service are fantastic. Nice cold beer, too. Great spot. Great for families.

#20 tacos with Mexican steak and sub refried beans

Stopped by on a rainy Tuesday night and the food was delicious! It wasn't too crowded and there were couples, families, and folks of all ages present. The decor above the tables, bar seating, and booths provides a cozy, authentic, and clean atmosphere. The service is attentive and kind, the salsas are delicious (one spicy, one smokey), and the portions are hefty. It's a family run establishment and folks make you feel like you're a regular even when you're not! I had #20: tacos with Mexican steak and swapped the pinto beans for refried beans. The guac portion was god-tier and the texture of the tortillas was ideal. The food was piping hot and the rice was some of the best Mexican rice I've had in the area. While they have a full bar and plenty of options for lunch and dinner -- as other reviewers have shared, the prices are quite steep -- buy I'd still say it's 4+ stars.

Talk about authentic! This place has it all. I come here often with the family & it never seems to disappoint. I'm big on fajitas and tried the shrimp fajitas with of course, the mango margarita. Yes Yes Yes! See you soon Casa Lupe!

Bland and lacking flavor, we asked for salt and lime to bring some additional flavor to this flat appetizer. Ahi Tuna Tostadas - 3 1/2 stars. I get this dish every time I visit Mexico City, but the interpretation here was a bit bland and nothing special. Taquitos de Papa - 4 1/2 stars. My favorite dish of the night. This was cooked well and rich in flavor. Side of Refried Beans - 3 stars. Lacked flavor, added copious amounts of salt to this in an effort to give it more flavor. Moljacete de Carne - 4 stars. A huge dish full of meat and chicken, all cooked quite well. This was on the pricey side ($79) but great for a hungry group. Mole Enchiladas - 4 stars. This had a great flavor profile and was my 2nd favorite dish of the night. Sorry to bring it up again, but the service is why I'm giving this restaurant 3 stars. We'd ask for things like salt, water, and limes and were given attitude. We asked for knives for a party of 3, our waitress brought us one. I asked for additional take-out containers, that seemed to bother her quite a bit. We tried asking another waitress, Cecilia, for help and she was amazing -- I wish we could have had Cecelia all night, but unfortunately we did not.

I had the carne asada burrito, it was good but nothing over the top that made it stand out. My friend had enchiladas with mole. We were most excited about dessert and decided to share the churros and Tres leches. It was a nice touch that the churros and Tres leches did not come plain, a little pizzazz since they were both served with berries, whipped cream, and a cajeta style sauce. It was relatively empty, with only one other party seated at the time. Service was friendly and quick, and we got our food pretty quickly after ordering. It's got a quaint hole in the wall kind of vibe, but was still clean - though not very air conditioned. We missed it, but there was a salsa bar in the corner near the entrance. We were served complimentary salsa and chips - nice refreshing, tomatoey and lightly spicy salsa. We also got guacamole, which you could tell was freshly made, chunky and refreshing. Glad we got this, because it helped cut through how heavy the molcajete de mariscos we got was. We were NOT expecting how large the mocajete is - this can probably be split across 3 if not 4 people. It comes out boiling hot, and with 3 tortillas, and a side of beans and rice. When we ordered, they asked us if we would want more tortillas since it comes with only 3 - we didn't even finish the 3 it came with. The sauce was tasty, tomatoey and spicy, and it was chock full of mussels, squid, sooo many shrimp, a whole filet of fried fish, and other goodies - unfortunately most of the seafood was pretty dry/overcooked. It came out to about $60 for the two of us. Overall, the mocajete was fun to try, but I think next time I'd try some tacos or a burrito if I were to come back.
