Very casual Taqueria. Plenty of booths, comfortable seating, although it is a small place. Fast and friendly service. Their menu is not extensive, mostly burritos, tacos, taquitos, quesadillas. No seafood. I think their best item is probably their super chicken tacos. I haven't had them, but my friend did and it looked really good. I've had their cheese quesadilla and super veggie taco. The taco was a flour tortilla. I do not recommend getting the flour, stick with corn. The servings aren't humongous, just keep that in mind, however, prices are very reasonable, even though my friend had remarked that they had gone up. I went to get a quick lunch and I ordered takeout from Rico's Tacos. I got the super nachos, which were so good! It might not look like a lot at first, but it was super filling. They loaded it up with a lot of meat and plenty of toppings, which made it worth it. I think the price was about ~$15. I can't say much about the ambiance or service since I didn't dine in, but ordering was nice and easy, and everything was smooth. This is my favorite spot to get a burrito. My go to order when I need a quick bite is a super burrito de Carne Asada with sour cream. Extra toasted. With a sangria (non alcoholic beverage) The salsa is good. I really like the quality and seasoning of the meat! I live in the East side of San Jose so I'm used to good taquerias. I work in Campbell and this place is so close to me and it honestly never disappoints even when I door dash it. The staff is also very welcoming lol i think i got called Mija once. I got back from a trip to Seattle and I didn't feel like cooking. I ordered two steak tacos and one chicken taco via DoorDash. The food is nothing to write home about, and though I ordered crispy tacos, they weren't crispy by the time I got them. It could've just been because the meat was very wet. This is located in a plaza so shares a parking lot with the movie theater and a safeway. Plenty of parking. Most of the tables were full inside. We examined the menu for a bit before deciding on the carne asada nachos. We wound up sitting outside because it was pretty nice and warm. One of the workers directed us to the salsas in the fridge. Our order came out pretty quickly! Wow, this is a beautiful plate is nachos. The carne asada was nice and flavorful, guac was good, salsa was good. We forgot to ask them to omit the sour cream but my boyfriend wound up eating it. The chips were nice and crisp. Can't go wrong with nachos! We'll have to come back and try their other menu items. I eat a lot of Mexican food. Rico's are the best tacos I have had anywhere. The preparation is different as they heat up the tortilla on the grill with melted cheese added. I've discovered Rico's Tacos back in 2013 and I have been hooked ever since. You HAVE to try their Super Tacos - each taco comes with two layers of tortilla with crispy cheese in between and the texture is just so freaking delicious. Sadly, it was mainly into beans, maybe 1 oz of meat. The tiny sliver of avocado made it "super". It was pretty bland and they did not have sauce to make it wet. The lady at the cash register was extremely rude and unprofessional. She was already arguing with the customer in front of me, who had clearly asked for double meat on her tacos, but the cashier refused to fix her order even though it was clearly her mistake. When it was my turn, I accidentally misspoke and said I wanted four super tacos, but I immediately corrected myself and said three. She even repeated it back to me, "Okay, three super tacos." However, when I sat down and checked my receipt, I noticed she had charged me for three super burritos instead. When I brought the mistake to her attention, she growled at me, started cursing in Spanish, and shoved a $20 bill into my hand. As I waited for my corrected order, I could clearly hear her talking trash about me and the previous customer -- also in Spanish. She probably assumed I didn't understand, but I do speak Spanish. When my order finally came out, she rolled her eyes and said in a rude tone, "Here's your three tacos." On top of all that, the tacos never have enough meat in them to begin with -- which is exactly why the first customer had asked for double meat. Some friends and my wife and I came here after a movie at the Cinelux. I chose to get the torta for my first in-person visit and thought it was a great choice. Wonderful pork filling and buttery bread around it. Loved it! The rest of our party chose assorted tacos which were all gobbled. Service, cleanliness, are all great. Awesome little spot if you're in the area. Everything I've tried has been on point--my go-to is the asada or chile verde tacos. Always fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. The green salsa is a standout--great balance of heat and flavor. I've seen reviews about the woman at the counter being rude, but that hasn't been my experience at all. She's not overly chatty, but she's efficient--takes the order, gets it done, and keeps things moving. Works for me. Me and my husband were in the neighborhood and were hungry for some Mexican food so we decided to give this place a try. I ordered the super steak nachos. My husband ordered the super steak burrito. There were many problems with my nachos: -the chips were way too greasy and salty -there was an enormous amount of guacamole on top of my nachos, which ruined the nachos -the guacamole was way too salty -- way more saltier than the chips itself -there was a ton of whole beans in my nachos, which made me feel like I was just eating beans with a side of chips -didn't have enough steak -there was hardly any cheese In regards to my husband's super steak burrito, there were some issues that he had with it: -there was way too many whole beans -it tasted bland -it was simple -- nothing special compared to other Mexican restaurants I ate at -there was no rice in it -had very little steak -there was hardly any cheese In regards to the restaurant itself, there isn't even a chips and salsa bar. We weren't even offered any salsa at all. What kind of establishment is that??? I do NOT recommend this place at all. So do not go here, you will regret it!!!!!!!!!!!! I've been here a few times but to be honest, it's been years. I was craving Mexican after running some errands so I popped into Rico's to grab something to take home. This place is a super simple no frills kind of place. It's family run which I love and the menu is small so you won't feel overwhelmed. I got the chicken flauta plate and it was yum. These are made to order, covered in lettuce, sour cream and quac, and since it's a "plate", it came with rice and refried beans. It took a little bit to make since it was made to order but I wasn't complaining. The restaurant is clean and the two other customers eating seemed to be regulars. The staff were friendly and joked with each other. Clearly they all enjoyed being there. Once my order was ready, I grabbed it and drove straight home. By this time I was starving and dug right in. Went in around 11am on a Saturday and was the only one there. Hadn't been here before so quickly scanned the menu and decided on a carnitas burrito. Looked so fast I didn't even read all the meats, but it seemed like they had a good amount of choices. Burrito was made on the spot and was ready within 1 minute. Probably only spent 2 minutes in the shop which was perfect for the occasion. Burrito was good, nothing special though and I felt like it was kind of expensive for what I got, but it did the job and tasted just fine. No black beans on the menu, just pinto beans for burritos. The sauces that came with the burrito were good, both way too spicy for me and my mouth was on fire, but I still added a bit of the green because I liked the flavor when it didn't burn.
