We have enjoyed Casa Lupitas delicious food and friendly service for over 40 years. In 2025, we tried their catering service for our annual family Birthday/Christmas brunch. It was a complete success. Rosa at Casa Lupitas was a pleasure to work with and she was very helpful in suggesting food items and providing pricing for a large group meal. Rosa was very easy to get in touch with and answered all of our questions. We took Rosa's suggestion and ordered the American Breakfast Burritos (cut in half and individually wrapped in foil), rice, beans, chips, and salsa for the brunch. The order was ready on time, well-packaged for travel, and tasted amazing. They even helped carry the order to our car. Our guests were well fed and happy. Pulled pork in my burrito was too dry and I felt like chewing a dry cardboard. Shrimp tostada tasted like a canned tomato juice poured over a pile of freshly cucumbers and well-cooked shrimps. Before we headed to Santa Clarita, I had checked Yelp for some local Mexican food. I love unassuming places that are off the beaten path because they usually have the best flavor and chale, this place did not disappoint!!! Casa Lupitas is located between a Denny's and a car repair shop. If you blink you will miss it because it looks like a former Jack in the Box with different colors. When we pulled up, I went inside to grab a menu because all the menus on Yelp were outdated. I couldn't decide on one thing, so I decided to get a wide assortment. I marked all the items I wanted to try and went back inside. The rest is about the size of your favorite donut shot and had about 5 booths inside. Outside there is a covered patio. Bandera music was playing loudly and on the TV there was the option to watch any streaming channel. As we approached the counter, the friendly lady at the counter (Lupita's daughter) greeted us with a wide smiles and asked what we would like to try. I ordered a pork tamale a la carte, carne asada fries, chips and salsa, carne asada quesadilla, 2 kids meals one with a burrito, fries and peaches and one with chicken fingers, beans and rice. When she asked about drinks, I told her I didn't need one, but the horchata was calling my name. When she informed me that they had 32 oz sized cups available, I immediately said yes. She then asked about dessert, which I don't normally order, but then the works "strawberry or caramel stuffed churros" caught my eye. "treat yo' self" time it is! I ordered those as well and I'm glad I did. It took about 20 minutes for the food to be ready, but everything was packaged carefully and when we got back to the hotel, everything was hot and fresh. I started with the carne asada fries. If you think you have had carne asada fries, trust me, the ones from Casa Lupita are better! Even though they were topped with mounds of carne asada, salsa, sour cream and guacamole, the fries were still crisp! I ate about half of them before we turned to the quesadilla. Yum doesn't even describe it. The meat was juicy and marinated with grilled onions, some kind of pepper, garlic and love. The tamale was surprisingly tender, served on a bed to cheese and slightly spicy red sauce. I snuck a few bites of the kids meal and even their food tasted homemade! The horchata was excellent and washed everything down delightfully. Now for the salsa. The chips were fresh and came with 4 different salsas: roasted, tomatillo, pico de gallo and hot as hell. If you blink you just might miss this place, nestled behind a very small center in the small town of Castaic. This very small business packs some big flavors and some super friendly staff! Driving back home from Ontario after a long day at a cheer competition and wanted some food so we stopped in n here. The staff promptly took our drink order and brought out the freshest chips & salsa. I usually eat this for the salsa and yet I think the chips may have been better than the salsa. We then ordered the Bean & Chorizo dip to start. It took a little while to get but when we did I saw the reason for the delay. It was made at the time of the order and completely worth the wait. The California Burrito with refried beans added in was very good and even better with the fresh salsa that came with the chips. On our way to San Diego to celebrate our Anniversary we were hungry and I mentioned to my wife that there is a Mexican place that was once considered by many truckers as "The Best Mexican Food" on I-5. At the time it was called Casa Lupe. I've always known it was here but just haven't stopped here in years. Not for any particular reason. Except when I was a driver I was usually in a hurry and normally would be in Castaic Ca late at night when this place wasn't open. So we thought we would stop and see if it was as good as I remembered. The name now is Casa Lupita. When talking to the waitress she explained it had changed hands. It really is a "hole in the wall" establishment. I mean you could easily miss it. Bcz it's sandwiched between a truck stop and a motel. But there is plenty of parking in the rear of the building. I thought I had taken pictures of the menu. But apparently I did not. So Tuesday when we stopped we opted for the carnitas nachos and a couple of ice teas. Food came quickly and was very good. Plenty of carne and very flavorful. The salsa also very tasty. On our way home today. We made it a point to stop again and have a late breakfast. My wife chose the the shredded beef enchiladas with beans and rice. I chose my all time favorite chorizo and eggs with beans and rice. We were not disappointed. This food is still as amazing as I remembered when I was a driver running around the country. The place isn't terribly spacious. But big enough and they also have patio seating so you can enjoy your meal comfortably. If you're on the I-5 going through Castaic. Do yourself a favor and stop here. We ordered two large albondigas soups. When we took the lids off (as we had them to go) it smelled like pickles. Which is not what you are looking for in a soup. It tasted like pickle juice and the used pickles instead of zucchini. It was absolutely disgusting. We paid 38. Dollars for pickle juice soup. We needed a quick stop to eat on our long drive home and not wanting a typical fast food chain stop. We Just happened upon Casa Lupitas right off of I-5 going North and pulled right up to the restaurant. We had our little dog and needed outside seating. Raymond one of the owners warmly greeted us and provided us a table outside. Although it was a hot day they started up all the outside fans and coolers to make us feel more comfortable. While we were waiting for our food we had ate chips and one of the best fresh homemade salsas! We shared a plate of the "Fajita Combo." Beef, shrimp and chicken with both flour and corn tortillas-Muy delicioso! We devoured our food and washed it down with our fresh brewed ice teas. I'm really picky about my ice tea and it was fresh, tasty and with lots of ice and lemon plus multiple refills. Lastly Raymond our server was polite, delightful and very attentive. We also like supporting small family owned business. They obviously take pride in their restaurant and had an extensive Mexican and American menu and to add it was very clean. Including the restrooms. We plan to make Casa Lupitas one of our stops when we travel back and forth from Palm Desert and San Francisco bay area. read more

Surprisingly a very good hole in the wall for mexican food! Was craving for mexican after a whole day of moving and saw that this was so close by our new place! OMG!!! I love their menudo! Its so flavorful! Must Get! Beef enchiladas was also great! The portions are huge and you can share with 2 other people! Grilled chicken salad was fresh. Everything in it tasted fresh and crispy. I ordered a large menudo (was so excited to get home and dig in) and y'all cheated me. i'm not kidding but my menudo had no hominy (okay, maybe 4 or 5 kernels) ugh and very little pancita (meat) compared to my previous pictures where i praise them in having the BOMB menudo. it was all broth... delicious but come on :/ when i called i asked if they still had menudo and they were like we have plenty at 11:45am so i based it off of that. but nah... instead i got whatever was leftover which wasn't much and now i'm sitting her like why? what did i do to deserve this.... CHEF KISS, i think NOT! so then i call to ask: are guys not adding hominy to your menudo anymore? their reply was yes, so i proceeded to say well this LARGE MENUDO didn't. they said sorry and if i wanted to bring it in and get another or i could get credit for next time. i told her i've already added the condiments. she said that's fine, i'll just give you credit and said sorry and with a sad belly i said bye :( 20 yrs i've never had this problem with their menudo. regarding the rest of the food on their menu, i never order it bc it's not my favorite and my hubby always says their carne asada tacos are not consistent on flavor. it's always hit and miss, but their burritos are good. anyway, so much for getting menudo here. we will see if i end up using my food credit??? read more

I always love visiting Casa Lupitas. It's a Mexican restaurant with a diner feel. My bf and I love to drive up from SCV to go for breakfast on the weekends. We visited this past weekend for the first time since the COVID shutdowns. The staff were so friendly as usual, and the food was delicious. They have an covered outdoor patio with heat lamps, and a couple tables under the awning on the side of the restaurant for those who need more privacy and distance. For food, I usually get the huevos rancheros or Chile Relleno (both so delcious) but I got the Chilaquiles this time. They were really good, better than I expected since I'm usually iffy about ordering chilaquiles. My bf usually gets the wet burrito with a mix of chile verde and carne asada. He got the breakfast burrito this time with two meats, and it was packed with meat. And its only $7.99! You can't beat that price and quality. We took a Menudo home for family and they said it was the best they've had. And they are a picky eater so that's high praise. Can't wait to visit our favorite Mexican restaurant again soon! read more
