Do yourself a favor and go to one of those instead. This place is a hard pass.

One of the things my family and friends enjoy is having a margarita with our Mexican food. Maria's does not have a liquor license now so no margaritas (or even a beer) with our meal. I could eat very good food without a margarita but the food now is not that good. We find it bland, cold & tasteless. I really miss Maria's when it was owned by herself and then by her son. It's more of a white sauce .. if you're like me and enjoy a cheesy white queso go to El Rancho in Denham Springs which has good white queso and they have a chicken fundido dish (with queso) that's the best anywhere. Oh! Mestizo in BR has a good queso too. Yep I'm picky ok? You might have different taste buds. Ambiance? Service was fine but I also prefer the coziness of booths which this place doesn't have. But Tuesday is taco night and it was packed so lots of people aren't as picky as me :-)
