We walked into Casa Mariacha on a Friday night around 5:30, and for a brief moment we were the only ones there -- which lasted all of five minutes. Right after us, people poured in and the place filled up quickly, so clearly it's doing something right. We ordered a shrimp cocktail ($12) to start, one chorizo taco ($4), one shrimp taco ($4), rice and beans ($6), and an order of chilaquiles with beef, chicken, and a fried egg ($14). We also grabbed a Diet Pepsi ($3) and a mandarin Jarritos ($4). Somewhere along the way we ended up with two chorizo tacos and two shrimp tacos (and were charged for them), but we rolled with it and turned them into decent leftovers. The shrimp cocktail was huge -- served in what I can only describe as a glass milkshake cup. The shrimp themselves were good-sized, but it was mostly red sauce, so the dramatic presentation felt a little unnecessary. The shrimp taco was the standout -- really tasty and well-balanced. The chorizo taco was good flavor-wise but on the dry side and could have used some kind of sauce to help it along. Adventure Buddy was very happy with the chilaquiles, which came loaded with beef, chicken, and a fried egg. He demolished most of it, leaving zero leftovers and no regrets. The staff were friendly and kind and did their best to stay attentive as the restaurant got busier. All-in, after tip, we spent around $70 for a Friday night date night. That felt a little high for what we ordered, but the extra tacos did give us leftovers, so that helped soften the blow. Bottom line: this is a solid Mexican restaurant. Would I go out of my way to eat here? No. If I was in the area and craving Mexican food, would I come back? Sure. Nothing to shout from the rooftops about, but also nothing to complain about -- average, fine, and perfectly serviceable. Bonus points for plentiful free parking, since it's located in a strip mall.

I was anticipated to try this new place but upon getting my food I was dissapointed . Keep in mind they also kept me waiting for it to arrive like it came from a can .

Being in town for a conference and looking for quick places to eat during our breaks, we chose this place for dinner. We were looking for a quick dinner so we could go somewhere else before returning to the conference. Since it didn't look busy, we decided to eat in instead of carrying out as we originally thought we would. We were greeted and given chips and salsa. My sister and I really enjoyed the salsa. It was different from most salsas we've had and more of a smooth, tomato-y flavor, with no acidity. The chips were ok, a little thicker than I prefer. Since the salsa was served in a very small bowl, we finished it quickly and asked for some more salsa. Contrary to our thoughts, service was slower than we'd have liked since we were trying to finish sooner. Only one young lady was serving the floor. Another young lady stayed behind the counter as support. We both ordered three tacos. They had a special: if you ordered three tacos from the $4 tacos, you could get them for $11.00. I ordered three carne asada tacos. My sister ordered two fish tacos and one birria taco. The tacos come on two corn tortillas, but I asked for them on only one. As we waited for our food, the server brought us more salsa. She also brought a basket of chips that we didn't ask for. We weren't sure if we'd be charged for these chips or if they were gratis. I personally thought that they might be no charge. My tacos came out very nicely. They came wrapped in a wrap that held the taco together and made eating them much easier. The tortilla had a nice crisp to them. They were lightly toasted on the edges, but still soft, too, which I really appreciated. It also came with a good portion of guacamole. I enjoyed the flavor of the added shallots/onions. It had a good amount of meat for the size, too. My sister enjoyed her tacos as well. At the end of our meal, the server brought out an electronic check that she left at our table. We could finish the transaction for the meal ourselves using the handheld machine. At that time, we could see that the server did charge us for the additional salsa and chips. In a previous visit, my sister had been there before and had asked and received extra salsa with no charge. We surmised that the server probably misunderstood and thought we wanted an extra order of chips and salsa and charged us. We were still looking at the time and didn't want to spend additional time there so we just paid and left. By then, there were more tables filled and only the one server. Overall, we thought the food was good. The place had a decent amount of standard looking tables. The interior was decorated vibrantly. The two things that stood out most were the salsa and the bit of crisp in the tortilla that added a nice texture to the tacos. I'd come back if in the area.

The tacos were really good. Simple, but very tasty. I would definitely go back when I am in town.

This is such a hidden gem in Mechanicsburg!! I happened into this place for dinner since I was in the area for an event. The inside dining area is small and wasn't crowded at all on a Thursday night around 5:30 pm. They have bottled drinks - plastic bottles, Mexican sodas, and cans. We opted for the classic Mexican Coke. It's so good. The chips and salsa were excellent, although I wish the chips came out piping hot. The only other Mexican restaurant I've eaten at in Pennsylvania charged for chips and had horrid food, so I can't complain very much! I picked carnitas for my entree and my fiancé got the carne asada. The food came out freaky fast. It was all hot and so delicious. My carnitas were very tender and I loved the onions that were cooked with it. I wish the beans were seasoned more or mashed together more because they were bland and the texture was off, but that's the only part of the meal I wasn't obsessed with. The rice was so tasty and a great texture. The tortillas were piping hot and tasted homemade. I'm normally a flour tortilla gal, but these were insanely good. I tasted the carne asada and it was also perfectly seasoned and cooked and was a good portion of meat. We opted to try the flan for dessert. It wasn't as sweet or caramel-y as I'm used too, and seemed to have a lot of cinnamon in it or dusted on it. I'd skip that next time and try a different dessert. Overall, the service was incredible and so were the food and drinks. We are already planning to come back!!

Hands down the most authentic Mexican Restaurant in the area. Clean, fresh, homemade tortillas, friendly staff and affordable. My go to!

The wife had a craving for Mexican food on Saturday. Rather than going to the usual haunts, I found this small restaurant online with many glowing reviews and I wanted to check it out. We arrived before 2:00 pm and the place was empty. The server was very nice and helpful. She brought over homemade chips and salsa. Very good and the salsa has a slight kick, which was cool. My wife ordered the Shrimp Fajitas and was impressed with the fresh, delicious taste. One of the best she ever had! I ordered Fajitas Mixtas (chicken, steak, shrimp with peppers/onions). Absolutely delicious! Tortillas were awesome and held the food together well without falling apart. Shrimp were a decent size and the meats had good flavor and seasoning. Ignore the early bad reviews about food and service because they clearly don't know what they're talking about or maybe got their restaurants mixed up! Lol. Our food came out quickly and prices were very reasonable. We noticed other diners arrive after us and they clearly enjoyed their food. I can't wait to come back and eat here again!

Honestly. Fricken love this place. We have gotten take out twice now. We have tried tacos carne asada, carnitas, el pastor, birria, and chorizo. They are all amazing. Their home made hot salsa is HOT! But flavorful and I love it! Every taco is packaged nice as every taco has its own little parchment paper around it to prevent sogginess. Usually we get tacos in Harrisburg but it's so out of the way. I love Casa Mariachi. It's close and worth it. Tacos are $3 a piece. The girls at the counter are nice and follow instructions. I'd like to actually dine in sometime but for some fast Sunday authentic tacos, I highly recommend!!!! Oh, I only gave four stars because their pasole doesn't have meat in it....: like pork pasole is a Mexican tradition and a god given gift to earth.

Was surprised to see the negative reviews here because my Mole poblano was phenomenal! It's the only thing I tried, but I'm definitely coming back for more.

I was the only diner in the place, which honestly made me feel like I had just rented out a private pizza studio. Bonus: plenty of free parking right out front because it's tucked into a little strip mall. Before I even ordered, the menu caught my attention--an eclectic mashup of pizza and tacos, with breakfast versions of both served all day long. It's honestly the kind of menu you'd expect to stumble upon in a dream where the universe says, "Go ahead, choose joy." I originally planned to be "responsible" and just grab a slice to test the waters, but they didn't have any slices ready and would've had to make an entire pizza just for me. That felt like a sign from the Universe to stop lying to myself. If they were firing up the oven anyway, why not go big? So I took the cosmic hint and ordered their semi-Instagram-famous Mexican Breakfast Pizza: eggs, chorizo, mozzarella, cheddar... a 10" "personal" pizza (their wording, not mine) for $14. Twist my arm. Drinks live in the cooler by the door and you just grab whatever you want and pay at the end. As I was mid-debate between soda and water, the guy behind the counter popped out from behind the curtain and said, "Hey, since you're getting a breakfast pizza, if you want juice... orange, cranberry, apple... you can have it!" Sir. Apple juice is basically the secret key to my heart. SOLD. He also mentioned they have games and coloring books available--apparently dominoes is the crowd favorite here. Unexpected and charming. A little sign on my table caught my eye: "If you love it, leave a nice review." Challenge accepted. This place was already earning every star. Placed my order at 5:02, snagged a seat by the window to watch the sunset fade and the traffic chaos whirl by. The sign on the wall said "GOOD vibes, GREAT flavors," and let me tell you: an accurate mission statement. At 5:20, my pizza emerged in all its glory--and it. was. stunning. The crust hit that sweet middle ground between thin and deep dish: sturdy, doughy, beautifully crisped on the edges, and wonderfully yeasty. The eggs-to-cheese ratio was perfection, and the chorizo? A knockout. Spicy, chunky, far more personality than the usual breakfast-pizza sausage situation. I ate 1.5 slices and boxed up the rest, which will easily feed me for another three days because, yes, I believe in leftovers as a lifestyle. As I was leaving, the man behind the counter introduced himself--Sebastian--and he had been nothing but attentive, kind, and genuinely invested in making sure I had a great experience. Service like that sticks with you. Total damage: $22.26 including tip. For great food, even better service, and days of leftovers? That's what I call winning. I'll definitely be back--probably at another totally normal breakfast hour.

However, this is the second time I have had chicken or beef in my fajitas (specified vegetarian). We picked up an order tonight after traveling back into town. I ordered fajitas. Unfortunately, there was steak in my food & all of the toppings for fajitas were not included in the order (rice, beans, lettuce, tomato, etc.) despite paying extra for these. I also want to warn that the refried beans are not vegetarian (which is pretty normal). They do have vegetarian beans, you just need to specifically recommend them. For anyone veg or vegan, you know this can really ruin an evening- specifically on a takeout order when there isn't much you can do once you get home. El Sol has great food, margs, and a lovely vibe. For meat eaters, I 100% recommend. All others with restrictions, please be overly specific to a waiter or on a togo order. We will definitely return, but I will be much more cautious. Maybe just get margs with chips & salsa next time

The chips come out PIPING HOT and are fresh fried, as they should be, but seems to be rare for Mexican restaurants in the area these days... the salsa is incredibly good. We also got a queso con chorizo to share and the small size was PLENTY. We both decided on taco platters and that was a great choice - we got to try a bunch of meats that way. The al pastor was amazing, as was the carne asada, carnitas, and shrimp taco. The tacos were topped with an amazing guacamole sauce. I got corn tortilla tacos and they were perfectly griddled and warm. My husband enjoyed his flour tortilla tacos. The rice and beans were fresh and hot and delicious too. Food came out quick and exactly as we ordered, even with some modifications! We didn't love the additional red sauce in the squirt bottle that you can add to your food, but the salsa verde in the squirt bottle was good. I ordered an extra salsa to add to my tacos instead. Now, the long-awaited mole sauce -- thick, dark, and complex. I watched a YouTube video on how it's typically made, so I had a level of respect and appreciation for it. It tasted like the popular five-spice bean curd jerky Asian snack -- bold and strong. I liked it very much. My wife's cream chicken, while moist, was bland in comparison. If you're like me, you'd be a bit confused when the bill came. The amounts were different from what the menu showed. Most dishes land around $20, or you can snag tacos individually for $5.50. We started with the Mexican Seafood Dip and wow... game changer. Shrimp, bay scallops, crab, and mushrooms all swimming in a red tomatillo sauce, baked under a gooey blanket of cheese, and served with chips. Unlike so many "seafood" dips that are 90% cheese, El Sol delivers with generous amounts of actual seafood. It was piping hot, hearty, and plentiful -- enough that we happily took leftovers home. For mains, I went with a Birria Taco (plus a trusty Diet Coke). Juicy, cheesy, crispy perfection -- I could've polished off three more but restrained myself. Adventure Buddy chose Camarones A La Diabla -- jumbo Gulf shrimp and mushrooms in a three-chile sauce. Bright red, spicy but not overpowering, and loaded with shrimp that were actually jumbo. He was a happy camper. Our total came to $62 with tip, which felt fair for the quality and portions. Service was attentive and friendly, and the noise level low enough for both conversation and even a quick phone call. There was some type of hot sauce (Valentina brand) here that that we put on it made it significantly better. The helado de fresa or strawberry ice cream ($1.50) balanced it out. That being said, I went today and got four tacos, two adobada and two carnitas, and when I tell you the tacos were delicious, that's no joke. You can tell the meat was freshly made, and four tacos with a drink for 12 bucks--that's a steal! I will be going back to try the caldos I hear great things
