I enjoyed this place! My friend & I came on a Thursday night. It seemed busy when we walked in, but we were seated right away. Our server was very nice & accommodating, but he did forget to ring in one of our orders, so the food came out about 10 minutes apart. Not a big deal, I still enjoyed our experience. We both got fish tacos which were good, but nothing special. I liked that they came with rice & beans and were topped with mango salsa. I loooved the tortilla chips, they were very thick. The salsa was like any other Mexican place, but still yummy. Margarita was also good, but, again, nothing you couldn't find anywhere else or super amazing. INCREDIBLE! I ordered take out over the phone and the lady I spoke to was soooo sweet! She kept calling me "honey" and had an adorable and great customer service attitude. They were so caring and flexible with making exactly what I wanted. I appreciate them so much! So out of all the Mexican restaurants in Columbia, this is one of the good ones in my opinion. Better than most other tex mex places. The food is pretty good, margaritas are yummy but expensive. Service has been hit or miss. Ambiance is more modern and caters to the college students. But overall a fun place for dinner. - Raspberry lemon margarita (3.5/5): pretty sweet but still good overall. Pretty big and a bit overpriced - Queso fundido (4/5): very flavorful, but a bit salty for me. Yummy with the tortillas, and super filling - Casa Maria fries (3/5): lots going on here, but very tasty. The freshness of the tomatoes adds good texture and flavor. Lots of sauce, pretty good overall - Burrito carne asada (3.5/5): good burrito, yummy rice and beans. We were so full after appetizers so this burrito was great leftover as well. read more

I love some of the food but the service recently has been bad. We had no drink refills for the extent of our meal. Our waitress was no where to be seen. When drink refills finally happened at the end of the meal, she switched our cups so my water tasted like watered down sprite (my daughter's drink). read more

Delivery stopped taking orders at 9:40 according to DoorDash and I put my order in at exactly 9:25. I was craving Mexican cuisine and they just absolutely nailed every single thing that we got. It feels like a notch above your usual Mexican joint (it's good but it's the same everywhere it seems) in terms of quality and the flavors were extraordinary and refreshing. I would recommend this to anybody in the area. Also you should note that this was delivery... I have to imagine (it's almost impossible) it would be another notch above if you ate inside the restaurant. I've never written such an extensive review, but this place deserves it read more

OMG, I absolutely love this place. Everything from the chips to guac and queso are just how I enjoy them. The queso is not to thick but not to runny, just right consistency and taste. They make the best chimichanga, just how I love it. Lightly fried and flavorful on the inside. I choose the casa chimichanga with steak, onion and tomatoes. For sides its the mexican style rice, queso, guac, lettuce and tomato. The triple berry marg is delicious. My photo shows a regular marg, which I think is just ok. read more

Absolutely do not recommend! The service for online customers is horrible! This restaurant prioritizes walk-in orders as well as personal customer orders. If a customer orders through an online delivery service, then be prepared to wait a lengthy time for your order. In fact, this order is not confirmed until the delivery driver arrives and checks in. The driver will have to wait 20-30 minutes on the order and if the driver asks for the status of the order several times, then customers beware, there's a 99% chance that your order will be handed to the driver with heavy liquid leakage all over the bag. Waited over an hour for a table on a Friday night. When I first checked in to reserve a table for two I was told that it'd be about 45mins to an hour wait. The hostess took my name and number down. After a 1.5 hours of waiting I returned to the hostess station to check on the status of our table being ready as there appeared to be at least 5 tables waiting to be cleared in the restaurant. I was told that our table was not yet ready and that we'd be after the next group (no estimated time given). My friend and I returned outside to continue waiting. After probably less than 2 minutes the same hostess I'd just spoken to in-person called my phone to tell me that the table was ready. My first impression wasn't that great as it appeared there was a breakdown in communication of tables being ready as well as turning the tables over for service in a timely fashion. Once we were seated no one greeted us or instructed us on using the QR code at the table to view the menu. A woman came to the table and placed salsa and fresh tortilla chips on the table. She did not greet us or acknowledge being spoken to by the both of us. She just stared at us then walked away. I'm not sure if this individual is not confident speaking English or if she is just rude but I will say that an individual that doesn't greet people at the table they approach or even respond to being spoken to should NOT be allowed to service tables at all. It was very off putting. Fortunately the evening did improve after our server arrived and greeted us. He was very pilot and attentive. He asked us what we wanted to drink and that's when we noticed that the beverage portion of the menu wasn't super detailed. You have to scroll all the way down to the bottom of the PDF menu to view a small picture of the drink menu. It would be nice if this was face up on the menu and it would've been nice to have our server inform us that the drinks are listed on a small picture at the bottom of the page. Additionally the drink menu covers a hug portion of the wall in the restaurant but it is only visible in one part of the dining area. We ended up having to take a picture of the wall to have the menu on hand as the pdf menu was slow to load the entire night. We ordered drinks and food. I ordered the Chipotle Veggie Burrito and my friend ordered the Arroz Bandidos. Our food arrived quickly which was nice. Not only was it fresh, it was hot and flavorful. Both of us were pleased. Our drinks (frozen margaritas) were also tasty. Overall I liked the restaurant and think that it has the potential to be a great place. The food and drinks are great and it's definitely an affordable spot. I'd also mention that as the crowd dwindled it was a much more enjoyable dining experience. The food was no better than frozen Amy's, and way too expensive for the tiny portion size. Came here on a Saturday night and the wait was about 45 minutes which was expected. We got seated at a booth and I really liked the inside decorations. It took our waitress a while before she came to greet us but it did give us enough time to look over the many margarita flavor options. I went with the raspberry lemon and it was great. I'm from out of town, and ordered carry-out food to bring back to my hotel for the family. It took a while for my pick-up time, but the food was brought out from the kitchen the MOMENT it was promised, hot and accurate. The manager had checked my order line by line, and marked it with a pen. I mentioned I was going back to my hotel, and she offered me not only some plastic silverware, but also offered to give me some cups of ice, limes, and even some salt for my carry-out margaritas! The food service and atmosphere are amazing. The food is very well seasoned, portion size this huge and the variety is perfect with picky eaters. The Queso was very good. My favorite menu item is the California burrito and lettuce with the tinga hot sauce. The bathrooms are very clean and have hand painted art. I want to love this place but the service is just SO BAD. Like, comically bad, minus a few hidden gems who work there. Place was empty, drinks took 20 minutes, food took 30 minutes after that and was cold, and it took us 45 minutes AFTER we asked for our check to get it. Another man finally came to our table, gave us boxes and checked on us one more time. I've had great experiences here but noticed over the past year it's gone so downhill :( hopefully it picks back up because their food can be really good. read more

I've tried Carnitas at literally every Mexican restaurant in Columbia Missouri and Casa Maria's has the best. It's a super tender inside with a crisp "shell" on the outside.
